i think of all the fishing channels on youtube, yours is consistently of the highest quality and substance. none of these bullshit challenges, thinly veiled commercials, etc. just passionate and technical bass fishing content. keep up the awesome work, sir
Thanks Mark. There will always be more....its just the pace that is variable. I'm in first time dad prep mode so thats why the slowdown these past few months.
Carl, congratulations on becoming a father soon! It's a new chapter for you, but please don't forget about us. We need top quality bass videos like yours! Keep well and good luck!
Very informative, thanks for taking the time to film and share. I have avoided this particular lure so far, but now I am interested again. I have used and caught fish on the Jackall Dagored, which has a similar, but not identical design and function. It is jointed, but the lip design is quite simple compared to the Deps.
TheMaverick i love the i loud, megabass makes amazing products, i really like the white python color, the Deps spiralminnow is great too, or the lucky craft sammy bug 100
Carl you introduced me to the Keitech swing impact fat a few years ago, and it quickly became one of my go to baits. I'll definitely give this a shot. Great review as always.
Awesome Randy! Glad I was able to give you a little bit of a jump on them....of course the cats out of the bag now. I'm looking to have a few of the new BIG ones in hand soon in the 6.8" and 7.8" size. Yeah man.....give the Buzzjet a go, it really has been an exceptional lure for me and above average on how consistently it gets me bites. Let me know how it goes.
Hey Victor - thanks man....glad to be back. Never left really.....been fishing a good amount and compiling video footage, its just the editing part where I slow down. I had a slower year than last year on the big bass front. Got a few good ones though and I'll be incorporating those catches into reviews of the lures they came on.
great video. ...that bait has been my top secret bait for year's. that wake bait can produce some donkeys. nice to see another angler appreciate a great bait.
Finally! A new vídeo :) , love the Buzzjet, just a heads up for everyone who might be tinking on buying one, if you have pikes in your waters they are going to hit it like a train...
Hey Jose....finally indeed! Sorry for the delays, got a baby thats about to be born so we've been pretty busy. I got a lot of content shot though so I should be able to put content out all winter.
Check mate bait, lights out type of lure. Happy to hear your getting is a ton of winter footage. I have a feeling you won't be getting much rest with the new addition perfect time to sit and edit.
Quality work on the videos they are very informative and a lot of great lures. I just recently bought the 12” Mann’s jelly worms and they are freaking awesome. 👍👍
The Buzzjet can be fished slow where the bb's roll around like they're in a bowl, still going a bit after the retrieve has been stopped. It has earned its keep in my top water box. On calm dark nights, it makes such a racket, I think they hit it because it's so annoying. Nude black works for me but I'll definitely try the bluegill pattern next time to "Keep it real".
Excellent review Carl! I have 2 of those in the smaller size, black and the bone color. They've been sitting in my tackle box for 2 years and I forgot about them till now, lol I'm definitely pumped to try them out. That was a cute part with your wife and I believe I heard a new addition to the family as well, congrats buddy! Not sure if you seen it or not, but I convinced my wife to make a video on her own which now is leading in to her own little monthly series. It took baby steps, but she likes making videos now, lol Hope all is well with you and the family man.
Hey James....hope your doing well man. Thanks for chiming in. The new addition is almost here....like any day (main reason for my video shortage). What you heard is our cat who, as if on cue, meows whenever I try to shoot a tabletop video! I did see your wife and her very informative video on seasonal changes in water and how it affects life within it. Great content and she did awesome.....very natural in front of the camera. Love the idea of a monthly series! Tell her to keep up the great work.
The finish is very interesting, with a circuit board like set of traces under the transluscent finish on the sides. The propeler and flat front portion on the bill are also interesting designs. Overall it's a very interesting set of features. It obviously works as you've managed to catch more fish with it, over the entire season. I'll have to keep it in mind. I'll ask Santa for one, for Christmas! :-)
Seems like a wake bait, Japanese love the metal propellers in baits.. Try reviewing the OSP Bent Minnow 106 model.. That catches fish as well.. As always very detailed review!!
Have you ever tried the Pompadour?...curious to weather or not the action is similar...I'm assuming the pompadour is a little louder but,I dont have a Buzzjet (yet!),and if you have both you'd know better....Cool video man
I enjoy your videos. I'm on most of all the swim bait pages lol except badlands now. Who are you on the pages? I thought I seen where you said something about universe or one of the pages.
Are there 4oz. plus crankbaits specifically lipless? If so where? If not why? If available where can I get em....And I don't mean a wall ornament for my man cave.
Greta video as always! I was just wondering the other day when you were going to upload again haha. Do you have any specific plans for content this year (like how you did swimbait stuff for 2015)?
Hey man - most of what I have coming up is product reviews (kinda like this one). I have some long term reviews with footage spanning two years that I would like to finally put all together.
Very cold in central Massachusetts today but I snuck one out from shore on the Fat Impact Swing , silver flash minnow color. Maybe 2 lbs, but it's Oct 28 and it's snowed up here this week. I started fishing them because of you .Next year Huddlestons baby!! Thanks for the informative vids.
While I am not great at reading Japanese... I could translate a couple things from that first paragraph on the back It went "something something something, buzzjet, something something, buzzjet, something something something" Hope this helps
Hey Justin - I was using a Falcon Lowrider XD Cranker, Diawa TD Zillion, and 50lb braid to a 17lb mono leader. There is a ton of rods that you can sling this thing on, but I happen to like the moderate action (crankbait style) flex on it being its a treble hook lure. Plus, because its a topwater you are almost assured they are going to jump because they are already right there on top. Thats the idea behind the rod with a lot of flex. I use the braid so I can really pop the lure on command....even on my longest casts. Plus, it provides zero loss of hook setting ability on those super long casts when the strike happens far out. The mono leader isn't necessary, but it provides a little shock absorption and when I dead stick the lure for a few seconds I like the idea of a clear line going to it as opposed to straight braid. Thanks for the question & for watching.
I have a 7ft. Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Winch crankbait rod, my reel that i currently have 50lb braid on is my Daiwa Tatula CT Type-R...think I have some Suffix Superior copoly/mono in 17lb., you think that setup would work?
After Googling the rod you used I think I will leave my reel on it's current rod which is an iRod Fiber 7'5" Fred's Magic Stick H/F. I think the Buzzjet would overpower the Veritas as it's only rated up to like 3/4oz.
Absolutely Justin. Like I said....having the "perfect" set-up is nice, but at the end of the day you can effectively fish this lure on many different set-up's. But, yes....your's does sound just about ideal for this particular lure.
Okay, the Baitmonkey bit me and I broke down and got one just like you, 4" Buzzjet in Flash Gill. Since i live in Vermont and we have lot's of Bluegill up here as well as Perch I figured that pattern will be very successful. Just so you know I totally blame you for this purchase...lol.
nice video.. as for the writing on the back of the box, you can try using the Google translate app... it allows you use your camera and get those hyroglyphic looking characters into the screen, choose target language and BAMMM!
Yup....it sure it. I don't like it...I LOVE it! No joke there.....I really do. It is super stable and holds a TON. I did a video review on it if you would like a lot more information.ua-cam.com/video/JsPLpOHgCoU/v-deo.html
Cool...I fish out of an Ultraswift currently. It's not extremely mobile but I really enjoy it. I need something else so I can take my son out with me so have been looking at some options. Im 6'4" tall and 275 so Im a pretty big dude. I need something stable.
Just found your channel. this is a great review and that lure looks awesome. That price point though is pretty tough. I think I would want to use a steel leader on 100# braid. lol. I actually did see that ebay has them for about 20$ with shipping give or take. Thanks for the great review. Just subd
I'm assuming you are still fishing these since this video post, I have been fishing these for a while and notice that a decent amount of fish are shaking free once hooked. Not sure if It's me or not just curious if you have experienced the same.
WHERE YA BEEN, catching too many fish for video's? HAVE BEEN WAITIN'.and I don't do any bass fishing at all!! That lure would catch redfish and speckled sea trout with ease.
ha ha....I wish Dave! Been a slow year for me overall. Last few months have been all about prepping as a first time dad. But, I'm addicted and will get out whenever I can!
wow, a new dad huh? Guess its understandable. Me and a charter customer who is a subscriber of yours were just talking about you on Saturday. I told him I blamed you for having a total of 10 Daiwa Ryoga's now, of all sizes. You have him concentrating on big swim baits and he wants a good reel for it. "SMALL WORLD".
$27 a pop? I can get the Mann's -1 for $7-8 a pop & they have worked for me at night all the time for the past 20 years, thanks but no thanks I'll stick with my Mann's -1
i think of all the fishing channels on youtube, yours is consistently of the highest quality and substance. none of these bullshit challenges, thinly veiled commercials, etc. just passionate and technical bass fishing content. keep up the awesome work, sir
Carl, Good to see your back! Great video as always. Hoping for more.
Even cat loves the lure! Excellent review! And what a great language!
Thank you, I will look into this lure for sure, thank you for your time, hard work, and providing the feed back. Great videos!!
Very informative, thanks for taking the time to film and share. I have avoided this particular lure so far, but now I am interested again. I have used and caught fish on the Jackall Dagored, which has a similar, but not identical design and function. It is jointed, but the lip design is quite simple compared to the Deps.
If you enjoy the buzzjet, I highly recommend the I-loud, similar in action, but a jointed lure. Love the video, great to see you back.
TheMaverick i love the i loud, megabass makes amazing products, i really like the white python color, the Deps spiralminnow is great too, or the lucky craft sammy bug 100
Welcome back, hope all is well. I love the Buzzjet and the Buzzjet Jr. I throw the natural colors as well.
Hey Ray...thanks! All is well....just waiting for "the call" any day now to run to the hospital (Mrs. KeepinitReel is ready to POP!) :)
Carl you introduced me to the Keitech swing impact fat a few years ago, and it quickly became one of my go to baits. I'll definitely give this a shot. Great review as always.

Hey Carl great review as always! Glad to see your back at it again, looking forward to new videos with you catching some big bass.

KeepinItReelFishing I totally understand looking forward to any and all info your are willing to share!
Thank you. Well done I did not know about this lure. I will order. I really like that it's surface too.
great video. ...that bait has been my top secret bait for year's. that wake bait can produce some donkeys. nice to see another angler appreciate a great bait.
By far, the best reviews out there! Keep it up.
No problem! Best of luck for the soon to be born baby, Mrs. KeepinItReelFishing and yourself!!
I'm sold! I love your in-depth reviews!
Check mate bait, lights out type of lure. Happy to hear your getting is a ton of winter footage. I have a feeling you won't be getting much rest with the new addition perfect time to sit and edit.
love the videos I hope you continue to produce more and more often.
Thanks Benny. All the positive feedback is really nice. I will try my best man!
Very nice and informative video.
Thanks for sharing .
I got one for soooo many years... never used lol will try that soon
27 dollars oO she said, ask her about the price of the new shoes :P
You should do a vid on the LDC white label rod!
Quality work on the videos they are very informative and a lot of great lures. I just recently bought the 12” Mann’s jelly worms and they are freaking awesome. 👍👍
great video. that lure has been a secret over here in California for a while.

More lure reviews please!!!!
you should test out the Jackall Jockie 120 awsome lure

ChronicTom23 pomp creates more chaos
What gear ratio do you use ? And is it a 200 size reel? Can you do a video over your setups please on the buzjet
Great vid. Please upload more buddy!
I enjoy your videos. I'm on most of all the swim bait pages lol except badlands now. Who are you on the pages? I thought I seen where you said something about universe or one of the pages.
Thank u that was very helpful were did u get the 7' 6" guide select
Are there 4oz. plus crankbaits specifically lipless? If so where? If not why? If available where can I get em....And I don't mean a wall ornament for my man cave.
bogeyboy4044 so your looking for swimbaits over 4oz?
bogeyboy4044 a 4oz crankbait?! Never heard of a crank that big, u must mean swimbaits like the other guy asked?
congratulations on the new family member.
when you have the chance I would love to hear your take on the new craze nowaday...whopper plopper
Nice video man! I've been eyeballing that for quite a while lol.
After 3 years do you still feel the same today as you did then and is the buzzjet still in your tackle box?
Is this the flash bluegill color?
how is the size comparison compared the say a whopper plopper 110?
tried the Jackall pompadour or whopper plopper yet?
Im a whopper plopper user and a kelly j but this combines best of both worlds. I will be getting me some next year.
Finally your back!
KeepinItReelFishing Nice, I look forward to them. I love how in depth you get with the lure reviews, you're very objective too.

Should I get a tatula hd is it worth it should I get a lexa 300
Really love my Tatula HD...so much so I have two of them. No experience with the Lexa 300.
great video might have to get some
Sorry for random question, are you willing to view and test Zerek Live Shrimp?
I would like to hear it from you.
thank you
Hey Aufar - Sorry....right now I can't take on any new products for testing. I have many pending reviews / overviews.
Carl, great vid. What rod, reel and line are you using?
Great Review! Thanx!
What was your rod, reel and line setup for this lure?
Hey Justin - I was using a Falcon Lowrider XD Cranker, Diawa TD Zillion, and 50lb braid to a 17lb mono leader. we dont hear about it cause it 27$ lol what line did you throw it on?
finally, i recently got a bbz shad any tips on fishing it?
one of my favorites!
"27 dollars?!" Is a pretty legit first impression lol Love your reviews tho
nice video.. as for the writing on the back of the box, you can try using the Google translate app... it allows you use your camera and get those hyroglyphic looking characters into the screen, choose target language and BAMMM!

Caught a bass on my 3rd cast using this lure in 54 degree water
I like action this lure 😀
Deps owner (Kazumasa Okumura) is a trophy bass hunter and creates his lures with trophy bass in his mind. ;)
Hey Marco.....yeah, I know. There is a lot of good content of him and "deka bass"!
where can I buy this bait?
Miguel Velez tacklewarehouse
Yeah should get my order in a few days. Thanks
I'm assuming you are still fishing these since this video post, I have been fishing these for a while and notice that a decent amount of fish are shaking free once hooked. Not sure if It's me or not just curious if you have experienced the same.
Tom M specs of the rod?

beautiful hands
$27 a pop? I can get the Mann's -1 for $7-8 a pop & they have worked for me at night all the time for the past 20 years, thanks but no thanks I'll stick with my Mann's -1
Hate those small ones...go big or go home. LOL!
Bought two in 2014, drank the Kool Aid... still fishless!!! I know!!!
Matt Johnson 😢
So they took a whopper plopper and slapped a square bill on top
No, because this bait is older than the Whopper Plopper. The Buzzjet appeared in 2003.
Will Yontek not even close to the same sound and action
exactly what your wife said $27 dollars WTF....I've caught fish on lure for less the price!
I got the buzzjet jr and it sucks
lures don't suck its the person using it. And I'm not saying you suck but tons of people love the jr and make a killing using it.
dirtbag6604 it doesn't swim the same as the big version
That sucks I want the deps buzzjet magnum.
Carl, heres your next Buzzjet and whats in the pipeline from DEPS ..cheers, from frozen Idaho-jd
ua-cam.com/video/HjZncpEr-nE/v-deo.html
Indeed! I haven't checked out LureNews in a while....thank you. Love the Buzzjet....love big lures.....its a WIN!
Nutnfancy rip off
