You need to get mental help before it is too late. You are suffering from a delusion that you can surgically change your gender. Sorry to tell you, but it doesn't work like that. What you have is called mental illness. You need therapy, not affirmation

How painful is removing the dressings? When she removed that strip that was directly on the stitches I cringed cause it seems like it’d be super painful, idk if the patient just has a high pain tolerance…
Thanks for reaching out! Typically at this point, sensation has not fully come back to the surgical area. On average, most patients find the dressing removal to be somewhere between the levels of comfortable and a mild level of discomfort.
It's not really painful. The drains however feel a little awkward when they pull them out and at first you may want to flinch however it's more of an uncomfy sensation rather than actual pain.
@@marikatecarlisle3988 they have explained multiple times (like most if not all of gender affirmation surgeons) that they love just making people feel good about their body. i think that is amazing. dr. mosser himself has said he does his work for the smiles on his patient's faces when seeing their chest for the first time. they do great work, its a priceless job. :)
im not going with dr mosser but i hold him in the highest regard and consider him the best surgeon who performs top surgery, im instead going with someone who has a higher risk of dog ears. would you recommend that i ask for incisions that go slightly further back to avoid dog ears? i want to avoid them as much as possible
Thank you for your high regards for our surgeon, Dr. Mosser! Generally requesting for longer incisions may decrease the chances of developing dog ears but we recommend talking to your surgeon and expressing your concerns so they can meet your needs as best as possible. We hope this helps and we send our best wishes for your surgery 💗
This is the latest comment ever, but I'm planning to get surgery with you folks in a few years and was wondering what i should expect for my drains, since that's going to be the most nerve wracking part for me (problem with things getting pulled out like that) and if i should be on painkillers while they are taken out.
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. For patients who are nervous about their drain removal in the post-op visit, it is completely ok to take anti-anxiety or pain medication. Generally patients at this point of recovery would still have prescribed medications on-hand that they could take for this if desired.
Hello! I’m under 18 and still trying to get a consultation. My endocrinologist said she could not write a letter of support to an office outside of Kaiser without the proper paper work. In the meantime she wrote a letter with information about who I am and how long she has been treating me. Is this good enough for a consultation?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. I’d recommend calling our office at 415-780-1515 to speak with our patient coordinators. Our patient coordinators will be able to take into account your specific insurance provider/plan and provide a comprehensive answer. Hope you have a good day!

@@ForgottenDaydreamer aww this is so sweet. I got somebody in my life to do the call with me, and now I have a consultation scheduled for November second! Less than a month away.
Hey! I was thinking on getting top surgery soon but I'm curious as whether there are international insurance plans that work for you. Also, how much time approximately does someone have to wait for a dog ear revision? Since I'll be probably go abroad and don't wanna pay for multiple trips if the time isn't as extended.
Thank you for your inquiry! We have looked into international insurance but unfortunately we have been unable to find anything that will cover the cost of the procedure internationally, or special insurance that will cover the cost of complications for a procedure done overseas. If you find anything that seems promising please let us know! Regarding dog ear revisions, we usually wait 3-6 months to be sure the tissues settle out fully before doing a dog ear revision. We realize this is not very convenient for people that might need to travel to see us, but it is overall the best way to approach a revision.

Top surgery cost varies for every individual based upon multiple factors. These factors can include the following: if the patient has or wants to go through insurance or not, the type of insurance provider and if we are in network or out of network for the insurance provider, and, if the patient is covered under insurance for our practice, whether or not insurance covers surgery and to what extent based on the patient's insurance plan. Patients can also raise funds on their own through go-fund-me or related sites, and can apply for scholarships, funds, or grants. For more information about Fees and Insurance, please visit our website here www.genderconfirmation.com/get-insurance-approval/ or please give us a call at (415) 780-1515 . Thanks for the video, for me i having surgery in November. Im nervous about drain removal, can i request numbing cream? What is everything i can do to make it as comfortable as possible?
Drain removal for the vast majority of people is not associated with significant discomfort. Many people just describe it as feeling "weird." That weird feeling comes from inside the chest so unfortunately numbing cream at the skin site wouldn't help. You can bring up this concern with your provider at a preop or post op appointment for more reassurance.
@@genderconfirmationcenter1826thanks so much, I'm so sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification. For me the experience was significant but the nurses were very nice. We did put ice packs on the sites and that helped, also took a ibuprofen a hour before. Again I appreciate the advice
I'm pretty worried about not having that kind of result because I have a bit of extra weight on me, and I'm absolutely terrified of not getting the distinct, separate two scars, and instead getting one all the way across my chest. I'm getting my surgery done with you all in November, is there anything you can say about that?
Hi thanks for reaching out! Patients have all different preferences and in the case of this patient, it’s likely that the patient chose this scar type, specifically to have the incisions meet in the middle. For patients who have additional chest/skin tissue, there is sometimes a trade-off between the level of chest skin tightness and incisions not meeting in the middle. The best way to make an informed decision on this is to consult with your surgeon, share your concerns and goals, and they will be able to share what is realistic in your specific case based on your bodily anatomy and appearance goals.
Can you at least use NILTAC when removing those trasparents tapes, so it'll be easy to detach from the skin.. Or isn't allow??? Cause it looks painful ..
Thanks for reaching out! We don’t have niltac in the office, but if it is noticed that a patient is having discomfort in removing the adhesives, we will go slower which can ease some of the discomfort. Typically patients handle the adhesive removal well and prefer to have it done quickly.
Thanks for inquiring! This is to help lessen the likelihood of dog ears. For more information about this, feel free to visit: www.genderconfirmation.com/blog/dog-ears/
