If you haven't; don't....it will only confuses you.
So then, what is Sadonaso 'really' about? In experiencing this fragrance, this the question that I've been asking myself. Is this really about unrestrained sex??! Or is it about 'love me tender'??
I share my thoughts on this very animalic, tender fragrance that's perfect for intimate moments.

This is easily my favorite musk style fragrance. Most likely the most alluring thing I've ever worn.

Regardless of his overt imagery, this is nothing but a complex beautiful Musk! It is rougher to me than the beauty of Seminalises softness. It reminded me old Maurice Roucel fragrances. Excellent Review! Cheers 🎉🎉🎉😊
I love that you brought in Seminalis as a comparison to Sadonaso. I did the same thing. I tested these side by side because both are designed as olfactory lures for sexy purposes😏

I love Sadonaso. I didn’t know about when I tried it in store. But I got a sample of it when I ordered a Orto Parisi. Now I love it.

I love Nasomatto, I appreciate the artistic and unique approach, rebellious and against the trends. Narcotic Venus is my favourite sensual date night tuberose focused perfume.
Almost all of his fragrances incorporate juuuust a lil too much of the “Repulsion” factor for me - the most notable exception being Baraonda which is just a perfect bombshell masterpiece. Oddly, the other one that I LOVE on me is Narcotic V!

I love sadonaso and I completely agree, the ad and the actual fragrance dont match. I am so glad you mentioned that extra spray.. you are spot on with that.. 2 is good and then that extra spray is an exponential increase of 10 fold, so weird. Sweet and tender is a good description 💕💕💕

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying this one too; it's a masterpiece and a little undervalued from I can see. There was a good comment raised by @MeanderMike; that because of the over sexualised promo video it actually created an opposite effect and made people shy away from it (admittedly I did this at the start). But the bottomline is that it's a fragrance worth exploring.

I did scentxplore in NY and although it doesnt have as many brands as in Milan, it is great and you can buy and you get so many samples. Historically it has been the first weekend of Dec

Sadonaso is phenomenal. Like you, I don't get the coffee. I do get vanilla, caramel, honey, smokiness/incense, coconut(!), musk, and something animalic buried deep.
Also a little nuttiness a few hours in, like a burnt almond, which doesn't last very long. There might even be a flower hidden in there somewhere.
When oversprayed, that animalic/urine note is quite pronounced in the first hour.
I think you could classify it as an oriental gourmand? It is amazing and like you said, it is a complex scent, that keeps giving you different experiences.
I do like the marketing, but I think it is a shame it is putting people off. It kinda backfired, I think, commercially.
It has a lot of qualities that people like. It actually reminds me often of YSL Babycat, which is very popular, although that one is 'cleaner' and has a leather note. Sadonaso is kind of it's 'dirty' cousin.
I love your break up of notes and the elements that you detect. I do remember seeing early posts from you Thomas on this one and reading that you were enjoying it...you're a true believer.
I think you nailed it on the head regarding their over sexualised marketing...it did put people off. Or at least made them hesitate to explore the fragrance (I initially fell in this category🙋🏽♂️)

Interesting review Marcelo. I will not be rushing to get this one 😂. Saying that I have never really explored the brand. I know sniff perfumery in Geelong has it so might have to go there try it out. Keep up the great work brother👏🫶

And yes I've discovered that Sadonaso isn't for everyone....but you'll never know until you try. If it hits the mark, then 'oh mamma'🥰

I didn't care about that fragrance because of the marketing campaign, but now after your review and connecting it to one of my favourite songs I think, I should give it a chance. Let's see if it's better than baraonda.
I really resonate with your comment that the marketing campaign put people off....it definitely made me question whether I wanted to test this one; and was then totally surprised to find this incredible complex tender musk fragrance that denotes 'love' and not unrestrained sex

Absolutely Naseer; this is 100% on point. This is also what the study demonstrated; men were attracted by the naked image, whereas the woman by the sense of coupling that they saw....it's cool to understand how we 'tick' as humans😎

Bonjour Fadel! Je crois comprendre que 'Sillage' est la trace que le parfum laisse dans l'air.
Alors que la 'projection' est la façon dont elle pousse/flotte autour de vous... surtout lorsque vous la détectez et que les autres qui s'approchent de vous la détectent.

I don't own any of the Tom Fords @checkmate8015....I have heard that they are awesome but haven't jumped into these as yet. And yes, I do own some of the Aqua di Parma. I am a fan of this brand. They were one of the first on my 'niche journey'....any that you love from their line up?

I absolutely adore this fragrance.
I really don't get the urine smell, but I could understand how some people might think of urine in a way.
I think it's sexy, sassy, playful. It really reminds me of sweet licorice.
Maybe not something you'd wear, picking up your grandparents from the airport, but definitely something you'd wear on a night out, to a gloomy techno club.
Will you also do NUDIFLORUM by NASOMATTO?
And does your top 5 change, now that Sadonaso and Nudiflorum are added the list?

I don't have Nudiflorum.....
This one is super intense for me. I tested again Oct 2023 and.....😵💫
I was in Cannes at the time and it was too hot and it blew my brain. Going to test again in my cooler months and see if this makes a difference as I want to love this one; but it won't let me🙄
And yes, once I cross over and bringing Nudiflorum, I do plan to re-shoot and see how my taste has changed in the past 2 years

I love nasomatto fragrances, but this one is not my favorite. I have to get a sample and spend more time with it. I samples it during a fragrance convention so I was likely to overwhelmed with everything. I don't like coffee in fragrances and that note stood out to me right away unfortunately 😅
Yep, I've discovered that this one is not for everyone. I've tried to get my son to try it; but for him it's 'olfactory torture'🤢
Interestingly for me it's Nudiflorum🫤 I promise that I have tried 3 times to fall in love with this one..I'm always getting comments on why I haven't created an episode on this?? It's because I can't!!!

It's become clear from my experience (and in reading a lot of the comments in this episode) that what a man smells is something 'gross' and off putting🤢

Marcelo, if you had to pick either Orto Parisi or Nasomatto to bring with you on a deserted island, which house would you pick?
If I remember correctly his previous comment was Orto Parisi, for there is more to discover in the scents from that line. I am biased to that conclusion however, he might contradict me 😉

It would have to be the Nasomatto's.
- they are so incredibly diverse. Each one is it's own theme
- I feel that these are the most artistic. Alessandro pushing to the end of his creativity (look at Blamage or Fantomas and now Sadonaso)
- this is where Alessandro started, Duro was his first gamble (I'm a bit sentimental with things like that)
- these were my first love and the real beginning of exploring perfumery as art, not just a nice smell
- Easier to carry out (being pragmatic😇)
But having said that I do love all things Orto Parisi! These are glorious room filling fragrance's💥

i agree with most of what said, but the first 20-30 minutes opening, is quite literally urinal-leather mix. for me.
It's wild that you're experiencing that 'sassy' mix at the opening! For me it's all about vanilla, musc and powdery floral!! It's wild that we all experience this in the most unique way😮

I am perceiving the sassy note, but I still love the fragrance and it's a guaranteed purchase for me. The evolution of this one over the hours is nothing short of fantastic.
Terroni black afghano mega mare cuoium e many many more are great parfumes no one is like him actually. No pazzaglia no andreoli no french sotifisticated find one that makes things like this
@andream.313 I really think his work is unique. I am a complete devotee to the Gualtieri cult (as is Marcelo and many of us). That said, there were many masters of Musk of raw sexual power in the 70's and 80's. Bourdin, Roucel, even Guerlain, all had powerful Musks in 70's and 80's. I think the longing of the yesteryear is what drew me to Nas and OP in the first place. Of the newer generation Quentin Bisch is shaping up to be a scent demigod. Just musing of course. If the 313 is in reference to you being in Detroit, have a Coney for me. Worked off Woodward for 6 years. Love that city. Have a Great Day! Cheers!

I’m a major gualtieri enjoyer but this fragrance just doesn’t hit it for me, I remember smelling it in a niche fragrance shop in my area, and as I was smelling this slightly punget but mellow fragrance with honey I thought there was a weird funk to it, and the dude told me “This fragrance tries to recreate the night clubs in Berlin that Gualtieri goes to, some almost say that it tries to recreate the smell of the urinals in a night club.” And boy oh boy when he told me that, it immediately clicked, it does very much smell like a leathery fragrance with a strong urin note, of course it doesn’t have urin but the musk and honey do recreate that smell, and after that I immediately put the paper strip away, I was like yeah I’m done with this. 😂
I really got the same urine smell. It was a pass for me.
I decided to try my sample that I have saved to watch your video and this fragrance blew me away more than anything else.
I get strong dirty honey (if thats a thing) with vanilla. I get why people think it smells like piss but I think that is the honey.
I am not sure but this makes me feel super dirty because I really like the smell even if I can get the connection to piss, ew, but also clean because it is really soft and pleasant.
This is definitely a fragrance that I will explore further.

This was actually repulsive, almost vomit. I've used other strong fragances like cuoium, but this was an inmediate regret once i sprayed it on me. Wont even scrub away, beware. To me smells like dry saliva 😅

I’ve been reading a lot of comments in this thread which are similar to yours; where people are getting a ‘nasty’ smell 🤢rather than the pleasant romance smell that I get from it 🥰

If you're up for the challenge, I'd be curious to see you test this one. Not sure if you have retailers around you that will allow you to walk in, spray/test?? (I've discovered that what we have here in Melbourne with our fragrance stores is actually unique compared to the rest of the world)

@TheNicheFragranceCollector I don't think it is available in stores in the U.S. I'll look next time I'm home in a week or two.
Also, I not to get too personnel, but I grew up on the west coast. Almost nobody wears fragrances on the West Coast. The reason for that is that some fragrances can give headaches or be offensive to smell, so culturally, wearing any fragrances is considered risky and bordering on rude. Only the most inoffensive scents are considered acceptable.
I'm very new to the fragrances and taking this journey has required me to unravel 44 years of cultural stigma. The idea of wearing a polarizing scent is still very anxiety inducing.
I smelled this 2 times and opening makes u vomit,belive me this is not for wearing not even for fun,this is not even smell,horrific balls smell, this is real truth about this frag,unreal digsusting thing and nobody like this
