    Mate, keep it up. You are showing that almost anything can be repaired, and you make it look easy.

    Another exciting video. It was interesting how you used Tec screws to hold things in place as you weld.

      You're a man after my own heart Shane. I was thinking of doing a 12 month anniversary every year, making a compilation of all the fuck ups and one liners. 😂

      Spent the last 25 years playing with them, back when they were worthless to most people. Lol. Cheers.

    That landau is missing lots of steel!! It is getting better with every weld!!

    Great work. Do you treat all those hard to get areas with rust preventative?

    • @shellberightgarage
      @shellberightgarage  3 роки тому +1

      Not at this stage. Once the shell is dipped and stripped, I'll access it all and treat everything knowing it's perfectly bare steel.

    Nice work mate. Geez ya aint scared to have a go. Ever considered some weld through primer in the bits that you wont be able to access afterwards? Check out the feed roller bearings for the welder. I'm fairly sure that one is no good. cheers.

    • @shellberightgarage
      @shellberightgarage  3 роки тому

      How so, regarding the roller mate? What should I be looking out for?
      I'll be getting the entire shell dipped and stripped, so not fussed about anything in between, or surface rust etc.

      @@shellberightgarage Open the side cover where the wire goes in. See a smooth roller and one with a grippy line ground into it. Remove them and pinch between fingers on the inner race and spin the outer. Feel if there is a tight or flat spot in the bearing. If there is, it will give an uneven feed and cause the inconsistency you are getting. Or it could be the inner lining of the gun hose. There is something going on there. It should feed / weld better than that. Or could be a poor ground. cheers.

    • @victorbitter583
      @victorbitter583 3 роки тому

      Actually, from memory, it's only the smooth one you need to worry about.

    • @shellberightgarage
      @shellberightgarage  3 роки тому

      The roller feels sweet. I've found that if I don't have the settings just right, it sounds inconsistent due to the wire melting too soon. I'm guessing that may be what you are hearing as the fluctuations sometimes?

    • @victorbitter583
      @victorbitter583 3 роки тому

      @@shellberightgarage It's not only what I'm hearing but what I see in the welds themselves. I notice sometimes you hold it too far away and that won't be helping either.

    This is so, so cool. I guess its got to be a ford, holdens don't need that much work.
