Voting is open now for Patrons and will close a week from today. The reaction will then be uploaded within a month from today. Thank you for all your support! - ☕
Worst part is that it happened in real life. This story is actually half biographic, is from a novel and the author lost his little sister during the war so we could say that the boy is him only that he lived.
I heard that the boy dying represents the authors own guilt of feeling like he didn’t take care of his sister as well as he could have. Survivors guilt if you will, and being a child he said he wasn’t as kind to his own sister as Seita was to setsuko. It’s all just so tragic that children are put into these situations at all.
Just coming to the comments without watching this to say I’ve never watched this movie because I’m scared it will break me. I’ll still leave a like lol
It will, but in a good way. It's the kind of way that, as a human being, you want to be broken. Because it allows you to build on top of that a better you. I highly recommend not turning away from such experiences. Regardless of where they come from.
I hope one day humans make it past this. I cannot understand. Its beyond me. I find it difficult to even describe the range of emotions this movie puts me all the way through, especially that they treat *children* this way, especially because I know it barely scratches the surface of the nightmares that have been inflicted in our world. Movies like this where they take events that are difficult to even grasp the scope of and put us in such a small piece of the world affected by them are so much more impactful for me. The part of me that loves hates this movie for its reality. Thank you for showing this to me, I always meant to watch it but never could. I wish I could show it to the people who need to want to see it.
OMG YOU DID IT! i'm definitely gonna watch the whole video❤!! i'm SOOOOO SORRY for recommending this, please don't sue me for emotional damages❤ looking forward to the next video! If you're ever gonna do an anime series please do ''clannad'' and ''clannad after story'', it's truly an anime that forever sticks with you❤and just to throw some more movies out there i recommend, ''Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi'', ''Hotarubi no Mori e'', ''Bakemono no Ko'', ''Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana wo Kazarou'' and ''Kotonoha no Niwa'', sorry that's there's so many but it's just so you'll have some to choose between😅☺
Hi Neko!! Thank you so much for these recommendations and your support 😀 I'm going to be branching out into live-action film reactions soon so if you have any recommendations for those, let me know 😄
@@Tea.Drinker.Forever No need to ask me twice🤣Since you'll be watching ''i want to eat your pancreas'' i recommend the live action ''Let Me Eat Your Pancreas''~, I'll have to recommend the ghibli animation movie called ''Whisper of the Heart '' because they made a live action that continues after the animation(hope that's an okay spoiler, just so you don't jump into the live action movie first'', Then i recommend ''NANA'', then last of all for now i recommend ''Grand Blue'' cause i can't think of anything else at the top of my head right now but i'll comment again if anything else pops up❤always happy to help and give recommendations☺❤
@@nekodeansu3016Thank you so much! The next two reactions after Akira (which is on Patreon rn) will be Paprika and Perfect Blue), and I loved both of them, so any more like that be they anime or liveaction, japanese or english, i won't mind. Again, thanks for all the support, very much appreciated!
I watched this movie 2 times, one in my teens as a anime fan, later in life as a movie fan in general, i was devastated both times, no need more. But its a must watch movie for anyone. Movie suggestions i have a tons... XD, Whispers of The Heart, 5cm per second, Tokio Godfathers, Wolf Childrens, Patlabor 2, Angel Egg, Maquia, Jin Roh, Wings of Honneamise... Short anime series, Serial Experiment Lain, FLCL, Gunbuster, Haibane Renmei. I wont suggest long series, but you can start with Frieren righ now since is very popular and very very good XD
Wolf Children is 3rd in the queue! And yes, I do plan to get into series next month, I might do a live action before I do anime however, I'll see how it goes
Great powerful Anti-War movie. There is a inscription at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Japan. It's not blaming US but Japan themselves with the sentence “Rest in peace, please. We will never make mistake again”. After the WWⅡ Japan has never been into war.
What I thought of while watching the film was that the Japanese kamikaze pilots would tell their friends and families that they were going to become fireflies, a Japanese military propaganda euphemism for this military combat tactic against the US.
I love your review. However, there's nothing minimalistic about it and I'm saying this is an artist myself. Artists have become extremely lazy I don't think that anybody could do this now. And that's unfortunate
Minimalist from a story structure point of view, and indeed with some of the screen direction/production design. However, the overall mise en scene and animation itself is impeccable. Another way to put it is that the minimalism is the direct result of extensive artistry. Restraint is an enormous endeavour for a feature such as this.
I like your reaction.
You are the most careful movie watcher I have ever seen. The filmmakers must be glad to have someone like you watching them.
That's an incredibly kind thing to say. ありがとうございます🙏😊

Thanks for your patience! I had a trip last week and I did NOT expect the channel to do the numbers it did 😅
