Some of the cops that were a part of Rampart where the cops that were planting drugs on Freeway Rick Ross guys and the ones that beat him and had the dog bite him while he was handcuffed. They were a part of the Freeway Task Force. Ross hired a private investigator which led to a judge having to release people from prison because of what these cops did. Then they just get transferred to Rampart so they can do the same shit again. Nice,got to love the court system if you are a cop in LA in the 80’s/90’s.

When I was a street sergeant I met w/my officers several times each shift to review & approve their written reports. No reports were accepted into our records division absent a sergeant’s signature & badge number on it.
Did you work a division with 60+ gangs in it that was the origin of 18th St. AND MS-13 AND had a population of 200,000+ residents with a majority being from Central America? That was Rampart in the 90s.
