That particular space I have avoided that area specifically for the overhead shelf and put garden tools and very easily removable stuff. Like my toolbox and scooter. I am currently considering the space above the door since it's easy enough to swap out that 14 gauge wire if need be later
Wouldn't it be cool if your paint shelves were on a gimble, so you could slide them left if you needed to? It would only go as far as the home network box, but it makes gaining access to the spring and maybe cleaning easier as well....
Hoping to use this to add storage to my apartment! Any suggestions for how to make it a little cheaper (something i can use instead of wooden beams for the shelf?)
Yes, there are threaded inserts you can put into the bottom of the studs you're using for support. However, I'd suggest screwing short 2x4s into the ceiling perpendicular to the shelves and use them to hang your rods. Keep in mind that the strongest way is to put a bolt all the way through the ceiling joist, as shown in this post.
Go get ‘em Scott, you’re right, it’s your garage.
Nice job, I like how you happily showed your improvements!
THE LEGEND HIMSELF IS BACK!
LOVE these shelves! Floor space is limited in our garage so I think I'll add this to my project to do list! Thank you! Colleen in Canada, eh!?
Great idea, I'm going to do something similar, but I'll put black irrigation pvc pipe over the threaded rod so it blends in to the black shelves.
NIce job! Great video. Does your previous video show how you secured it in the attic?

Cool! Any thoughts on how you might be able to mount the threaded rod when there is no attic access above?
