I had the privilege of working on one of Kenny's gigs in NYC. He was cool to talk to back stage and a mind blowing pair of hands to watch on stage. Nice guy. Amazing fast hands.
@7:18 we add the E from the major pentatonic because it's the third over the C7. That's why we would still play the Bb instead of the major pentatonic B: because taken together, the SRV lick is a C7 arpeggio. All around great playing. Learning a lot, and impressed with the style
Good good stuff John!! I'm starting right at the beginning of your site just to make sure I haven't missed something about the basics I can use... It'll be a while until I get there...But I will... Thanks as always!
Great playing! Too bad Kenny’s made an entire career out of doing SRV. Picking technique, fretting, gear, grimace, three part name. Bonnamassa and Meyer are the same age but got their own thangs goin’ as Stevie would say.
I also use these amps with IR's instead of micing them where I can get nearly the same result. In this lesson the Vibrolux was miced and the Twin was an IR.
@@Learningguitarnow My English is not good enough to understand what "mice" means. :) sorry. Kind of "use"? For this KWS you used a real Vibrolux and a 57 simulation, right? And the Strat pu selector is in the neck position, if I'm not wrong. I ask cause you have a killer sound and I love so much the KWS sound!
Ok I see. I used a real Vibrolux and a real Twin amp. The Twin was plugged into a Two Notes Captor though and I used a digital speaker Cabinet. www.two-notes.com/torpedo-captor
Hey Now! I Just discovered you trying to find a video on playing slide guitar cleanly (no fret noises). I found a video you did in 2011 on slide. You have some really nice tone. I checked out www.learningguitarnow.com and there's a lot of good stuff. However, I only looked at it briefly and I was looking for some David Gilmour style guitar playing, and I didn't see anything. Did I miss it or if not, do you plan on doing any lessons in the style of Gilmour? I'm ready to join if so.

Has a lot of The Sky is crying vibe to it. Nice!

Awesome dude more kws solos please
Best lesson I've seen in a long time...Thank you
LEARNING GUITAR NOW, try to make a 10 TOP Kenny Wayne Shepherd HABITS he does often lesson would help me out a lot.
Killer blues lesson! Rock on!
Love this vid! Great to see those techniques up close and so well taught
i guess I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new movies online?

You sould do some Doyle Bramhall Jr style breakdown, awesome lesson btw...
Dude thats freakin badass. I'm stealing your licks, thanks.
Really good lesson, as always
Kennys one of the best!, Stevie Ray would be proud. Can u give us the scoope on howto dial in that tone?
Thanks! A blackface Fender and a Tweed Fender cranked. I added a tubescreamer with the Blackface and then mix to taste each track.
Texas Flood?
How do you get this tone please?
Great tone .what is the set up .if you don't mind
Thanks! Fender 57 Tweed Twin Reissue, 1966 Fender Vibrolux, Maxon OD808
Cuantas reencarnaciones debo tener para tocar así?
It's called a gliss.. I think the term comes from glissando. Although a Stevie slide sounds good to me..
By what standard is this a slow blues??? You are ripping through the fretboard
Slow blues is the tempo of the backing, not the speed of the licks.
correct me if i'm wrong but aren't you sir playing like SRV !?
also wonderfull level you have,respect
Majority of it taken from texas flood :)
Kws plays just like SRV
SRV 2.0
Still a great guitarist KWS
Very interesting. But first of all, how did you get that KWS sound? Thanks
66 Vibrolux and a 57 Reissue Tweed Twin cranked all the way with a Tubescreamer :)
You are an analogic man, old school. And the result gives you reason. :)

He’s got some Gilmour stuff. I’m a member and it’s great
👍☝👍☝👍
SRV!
That's not Kenny Wayne, that's SRV in Texas Flood
Hey guys I usually break my string while bending what could be the problem ?
Sounds like a kazoo, not a guitar.
To be at 200% intensity in a solo is not a good thing for sensibility ! Too much tension ...Even of it is played perfectly !!!
