For every day range use and daily Cary the grip texture on the M17 is better than most. I use this pistol almost exclusively while shooting 2 gun “Run N Gun” events where weather is never perfect and sweat, mud and Murphy always play havoc on trying to grip better. Sometimes a little extra never hurts.
Gallon grips use a Granulate texture that is often compared to skateboard tape or sandpaper. It helps maintain positive grip on the firearm even when hands are wet, slippery or greasy. Granulate texture is typically preferred in competition shooting or open holster carry. The granulate texture may be uncomfortable during concealed carry, but can be made smoother by sanding it with 120 grit sandpaper.
Should watch the correct way to do this from talon needs heat and pressure along with the correct way to finish is to overlap it

Use your hair dryer to heat the grip up for better adhesion

I own a M-17. I feel that the existing grip is just fine.

Ordered the talon grips off sig site and they don't even have the sig emblem cut out on the grip smh
That sucks! I wonder it they are going to stop completely or if they just made some without.

Ouch! Don't trim it just tuck it under.
I have tried the tuck under and it’s never worked for me as good. M17 still holding strong.
