Which color is your favorite? I still don't get why Deep Black is a color... can someone explain? Or maybe I should be using it only on white paper.

I enjoy using metallic colors. This is the first time I completely watched a swashing paint video. Great job.😊

Thank you so much! Anything metallic always gets to me. Now I just need to buy larger black watercolor paper :D

You can also paint first with your regular watercolors on your white paper (try to match colors) & get shine but the depth of color underneath!

Great point! I kind of did that when I painted most recently in the watercolor moons. I'll have to keep playing around with them!

I wonder if the black color was included to the palette to be used as a first layer on white paper, so metallics would stand out more…

That's a good point! I'll have to try the black on white watercolor paper!

Yeah. I do the same with my special shiny eyeshadow colors-put down black eyeshadow then layer the special shade on top so it can really pop

Do you have to use these paints on black paper to get results? I just bought seven pans of FineTec and was really disappointed on how they look in the pan vs. on the paper (white cold press w/c paper). Purple didn't look purple at all, etc. The only two colors that came through the swatch process was ruby and bronze. All the others did not. I spent a small fortune on these individual pans.

Hi there! I've had that unfortunate experience with painting with metallic colors on white paper, too. While the golds seem to shimmer well on white watercolor paper, I haven't had that luck with other colors like the purples and blues. Sometimes they end up looking a bit grey and dull. I think painting on black paper will really make them shine, as I did in this video. But it's not necessarily "wrong" to paint on white watercolor paper. Are you able to return and get your $$ back?

@@AudreyRaDesign I got them through Amazon - a real headache to return. Thank you for answering my query - I do
      appreciate it very much.

I often add them to similar regular colours of watercolour...I've had good results that way on cold press white paper. I especially do this for holiday and birthday cards.

You really need to load on lots of paint.

Yes, I agree~ When working with metallic paint, you want to have more paint than water in your mixture. But a subtle metallic sheen could work too if that's what you're going for.
