You did well because metallic paint is tricky👌

I’ve had these on my Blick’s wishlist for a while. I think they would add nice accents. Thanks for showing them.

Yes! Definitely amazing for accenting any piece. Expensive and hard to bite the bullet for just that purpose though. I feel like they’d stay on my wishlist for a while as well with other things being prioritized. Glad I could help though! 😊

You’re not really supposed to use them with that much water, that’s why your swatches look “odd” and sheer. To get less water on the brush, just blend the water a little on the top of the paint pan, or simply wait for the water to sink into the pan just a bit, and you’ll get the most stunning paint you’ve ever seen! 🙂
Ps: if you’re looking for things to paint with them, I suggest trying to add finetec paints as an overlay to paintings of metallic/iridescent-looking insects like scarabs and dragonflies. Finetec is perfect for those subjects! 😊

Right? Definitely not the most practical set, yet still fun to use. Thank you so much! 🤩💜

Try them on black paper. The black paper is the shadow. Build up opacity for highlighting

I love Finetec watercolours. In your swatch samples, I think you used too much water. My advice is to let the water activate the pigment for a few seconds to take the brush stroke and get more saturated colors.

Thank you! I appreciate the tip-I agree I think they were too wet.

They work the best on black watercolor paper
