As appliance service tech love headlamps, but I bought a cheap one off Amazon when these first started to come out and I hated it mainly because it was a cheap one and LEDs immediately started going out and batteries didn’t last long. I think I’m gonna give this one a shot.
You personally have sold me on Kline products they do engineer their tools to a different level. That's a must have in a road pack. Thanks Doc
This is exactly what I'm looking for concerning working on my vehicles!!!! Thanks!!!
I use headlamps all the time in the shop. My only problem with them is that I have to click through 4-5 gimmicky lighting options (flashing red, red, flashing white) to turn it off. If I go past the off button I have click another 4-5 times to get it off. I’d like one light style and one click on, and one click off. Sorry, haven’t had anyone to unload that on. Feels good.
Where you put the pencil you can also attached a pencil light, and verry easy you can have a 2 in 1 ligthing solution - a wide led head lamp and an accessible inspection pen light when is necessary in tide dark spaces.
Was thinking the same thing! Maybe even a UV light for specific needs...
Doing mechanics with a narrow beam light is like trying to work on a spreadsheet on your phone, sure you can only interact with one cell at a time but often you need to navigate between cells and see the bigger picture which is a lot easier to do on a desktop computer.
Spot on analogy.
I have done plenty of both of those things, regrettably! And yes, the experiences are similar!
I'm getting one. I don't care what anyone thinks. I'm old and I never have enough light or my readers when I get into tight spaces.
The type of led makes a huge difference these flat wide spill unfocused light are likely the COB style. Not useful for a flashligh but great for flat efficient lighting like for photography etc.
Ive gone through quite a few and have found the Milwaukee 2163 headlamp works the best for me. The focused beam on low is great. Swappable batteries are convenient
under dash work is typically the closest (forced) use case. Try to find this "bar light" type without the battery behind your head as a lot of times you are laying on your head and you also can't afford that small , but critical , loss of um..headroom lol.
Me too. I thought they were gimmicky but i like them for some applications.
I love the Klein orange as well. A great video.
This is a nice one, so many are just garbage. Seems worth it.
That’s why I like my Zebralight flood headlamps.
Looks good! Long battery life is important to me, and usually these cheaper array lights don't have the life I prefer. I get pissed when a light can't do 10 hours, lol
I was hesitant on these too, got one on temu for like 2 bucks and was amazed how much more I liked it verses anything, My cheap temu one battery only last 5-10 min so Ive been looking for something with quality last week then bam last best tool in my feed with what I need lol
This style is awesome..
Lights up everything..👍
Solar strip, w/ recharge feature that would be the best.
Maybe, even a fluorescent glow dot on each end.
And get rid of the excess, battery junk.
I prefer battery on the side.
Hello again, Doc
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I all ready have two head lamps. I agree that they are very useful. How long will the battery last while in use? How does it take to charge? Again thank you 👍
Aaaaand it's $50 on Amazon already 😂
Can it be mounted on a work helmet? Maybe without the pad?
Hard hats, yes. Helmets, might depend.
I think the down side with these is that they take up a lot of space in a bag
And in certain conditions the battery pack at the back of the head could make this irrelevant. Seems like perhaps it could be taken off of the webbing but I dunno how easily it might be to hook it somewhere else
Does it stay in place without the center strap from front to back? I tend to like those headbands better. With that said that seems like a good light. I also didn't care for the cheapie ones like that. I have an amazing light a Fenix HP25R but always looking for something else.
The band is robust so staying in place is not a problem for me. But if you want to run down mountain trails at night, a top strap would be welcome. However the limited reach of the light would be the real concern.
@@lastbesttool The only mountain in So. Florida is the landfill we call Mount Trashmore. I am going to pick one of these up. Thanks!
18650 battery?
Nice subby
