I have the quest 2 kiwi strap and its great. I ordered the quest 3 strap from Kiwi, it take one a month to get here as it comes from china. Great price though
I got a quest 3 conversion kit for my kiwi quest 2 battery strap, and even though the battery isn't built for the quest 3, it still keeps my quest 3 alive much longer.
Very happy with mine (non-battery variant). It's a huge improvement over the stock-strap ... but that's not saying much, is it? I got it for under €30 on amazon and after a couple of months of daily use I haven't found any serious faults with it. Padding is nice and soft, the strap fits my head very comfortably and the whole thing seems pretty sturdy. Since I never used the cloth-strap for more than a few minutes and only on day one, I'm not sure how it would feel during longer sessions, but I've had no problems wearing the Q3 for two hours straight with the Kiwi-strap on it. Slight caveat: I also upgraded the facial interface ("Alafly", IIRC... looks very similar to the AMVR mask), which came with much softer and thicker (and easier to clean) padding and seeing how hard the stock face-mask is, I would recommend that upgrade (and an upgraded strap) to anyone who wants to do longer VR-sessions.
The botton line with head straps is that you need a similar design to what Bobo does (doesn't need to be from them, there are some others that do similar designs), that shifts the weight up and back on your head. These designs like Kiwi, you will always have your face sanduiched against the facial interface and the back of your head, putting stress on your face with the facial interface, and that will always be uncomfortable, doesn't matter how much padding it has and where. That Bobo design, is similar to what Sony used with the Psvr2, but better, because it attaches to the headset at the side and more to the middle of the strap and up on the head, which then sanduiches the front-top of your head to the back of it, and on my 10 days or so of experience with it, it basically balances the weight, so you don't even have to have the Quest touching your face, so it makes for supreme comfort really. All these other designs that sanduich your face against the facial interface cause disconfort to some degree, depending on how sensitive you are to that of course, but they all cause discomfort nonetheless. Yes, the bobo (and many others), do not have a battery that is good for the Quest 3, since they are all using (on their rush to sell...) old batteries from their Quest 2 products, but you will do better anyways with a decent bigger power bank of quality attached to your waist anyways (that's what I do), comfort is what will matter with these, in fact I wish they sold these things cheaper and without any battery shenanigan, but it is what its. Just my 2 cents :) Cheers all.
Some people also prefer these straps when doing exercise or playing games which require a lot of movement. Halo type straps are not suitable, or comfortable enough, for exercise. Obviously individual mileage may vary.
Different people prefer different strap types for different types of games. With a proper counterweight and a good facial interface, these elite style straps can be very comfortable. People have said when looking up or down, the halo type straps can shift around more.
This was so long of a comment- just say you prefer halo straps lmfao. Its a preference thing one isnt better than the other, theyre incomparable because they strive at different things. Halo is great for relaxing play, elite is better for alot of movement.
Thank you for the review. We are ordering both products. The head strap has been the biggest problem since we started using Meta Quest 3 on Christmas day.
I don't see SPC in the description. I went to your Amazon storefront and added the items to my cart from there. I only see one head strap by that specific brand. Is that correct?
Hey, I bought the kiwi elite strap and as you said, the most uncomfortable thing is the face cover now. The elite strap also wobbles at the front of the headset and my nose hits the face cover left and right if I make it too loose, but if I make it too tight, the stock face cover hurts and I get the so-called "VR Face ". Now my question: What should I do about it? Should I get a different face cover or is the KIWI Elite Strap the problem? If I were to run a face cover, I thought about the AMVR Facial Interface. What is your opinion on this and would that be comfortable and would the wobbling problem also be solved with that? I would be very happy about your honest answer and recommendation!
The way this type of head strap works is essentially wedging your head between the front and the back. So to be stable you will always get VR Face. The next option if this is an issue for you is to get a forehead mounted strap like the bobovr or the globular cluster strap
@@ItsSamuelJonesHmm, ok. The thing is, I use the Quest 3 for PCVR with a Link cable. So I don’t need a battery, that’s why I bought the Kiwi elite strap. The AMVR Fave cover doesn’t help there?
@tubeorange9425 It all depends on the size and shape of your head and face, I'd say. I would probably recommend an updated facial interface no matter what, just because the stock one is so hard and after-market ones often have removable pads that are easier to clean. Also: Have you played around with eye relief? On my replacement mask, there are two buttons that'll let you unlock the mask and then adjust its "depth" in three steps. I *think* the stock face-mask can also be adjusted in this manner, although I'm pretty sure there are no buttons involved. When I use that 3rd party-mask on its shortest setting (putting the lenses as close to my face as the system will allow), things get quite uncomfortable around my nose - it's like the mask's silicone "nose-shield" is constantly pushing up against the tip of my nose which gets annoying pretty quickly. But when I use the medium or longest eye-relief setting, the nose-guard/-shield does not touch my nose and things feel much more comfortable. I also removed that silicone "shield" from my mask to give my nose a bit more room down there. I don't have a huge face or nose, but I feel like those "light-blockers" probably weren't designed with adult anatomies in mind.. ;) I'm using a mask called "Alafly" (sold on Amazon) - you might want to check its product listing for pics of the mechanism I tried to describe - I think a picture explains what I'm on about better than all my ramblings up there.. :)
I have the Meta Elite strap (non-battery version) and it just feels like the strap that goes over the top of my head is not really doing much in the way of supporting the headset itself and I'm still having to tighten the headset against my face a bit too much to make it secure. Does this strap provide more support on top to allow the headset to be more "free hanging" in front of the face?
Just tried this strap, and honestly, it's not much better than the stock one. I still feel the weight on my cheeks, and it needs to smash the headset into your face. I think I'm going to try a halo, and if that doesn't work, the Quest is getting returned. Would not recommend this Kiwi since it's just like any other "elite" style strap.
I would love to see ur gameplay of saint and sinners 1 and 2. Mybe u can open gaming channel or just upload to your channel and atract new people to subscibe. We all want to know should we buy quest 3 or psvr2.
given the battery life issues I would not buy any strap that did not either have a battery or was good for attaching 3rd party power banks to and I dont care if the attachment uses rubber bands. Also it would be nice if the strap could allow use of the headset without the facial interface to get he max field of view but still being comfortable and not affecting clarity or touching the lenses. Let me know how well this strap works with attaching a powerbank and using without facial interface please.

Hi, do you know which case would fit the Quest 3 with the Kiwi Design battery strap?
The conversion packs are sold out. I was told by Kiwi support that they are not re-stocking them :(

Can you use the USB port on the strap as a data port? Like e.g. on 4xvr to play a movie from an external drive?
Vert interested in the battery pack version of the headstrap.

holy quit trying to take all this guys money
Personally waiting for a battery+audio strap (also hoping they improve the audio quality compared to the quest 2 audio strap).
goo gone cleaner is perfect for removing paints or marks from hitting the controllers on things, i tried isopropyl alcohol and it doesnt work
