One of the many things I enjoy with your channel is that you are not hurrying to finish your house. Most people rush and then redecorate again in a few years. We bought a fixer upper 2 1/2 yrs ago. Very little has been done. Mostly new roof, floor supports, we are on piers. A wood porch. Sometimes I feel guilty for taking so long to decide. No kitchen cabinets yet? Nope, like you, tables. But after watching you wait for the right flooring, cabinets. I feel better. Nothing wrong with waiting til I am sure of what I want. Thank you for the videos. Anna.
It's a reality check really. We're programmed to think makeovers happen in a 27-minute TV show. We have to save and budget for EVERYthing and then we do the work in the midst of earning a living, homeschool the kids, etc etc. I'm trying to be (mentally) better about that and just bring you small content as we do it. I think it fills a need:) Good for you for taking your time. People also make rash decisions and then regret them when it's "too easy":)
I have had an unfitted kitchen for 33 years in my home in Wales which contains a huge old school cupboard and an original very heavy French bakers stand in black iron and brass. In that time my friends have gone through many modern fitted kitchens costing multi thousands of pounds. I love my kitchen and I love yours Angela. xx
I currently have a fitted kitchen but my house was built in 1983. My style is not so old world, I love modern with old world touches. But oh my I am DREAMING of an unfitted kitchen. My kitchen lacks decent storage and I’m half tempted to just tear them out😅. But I won’t be so hasty lol
Hi Angela, I'm a subscriber. I love your intro French music, but I have to say, I miss the old intro, where you and your husband were dancing. It was so fittingly charming, and blended so well with the music, and above all, It Was Sweet!!!!!
So love your style❤. I just went back and watched your video on painting delft tile. Could you share the paint you are using. Does it require kiln firing or can it be oven cured? Curious in Michigan 😊

Love yur "crazy" hair. It's a free face-lift. 😘 I've wanted an unfitted kitchen for 30 yrs. Never had the nerve to tear out original hand built cabinets. When I look at top line cabinets at the big box stores I say, "nah".
Curious about the tile you are painting...A) Do you have a video on this already? B) What type of finish are you doing? Basically, how will you clean them when they get that misty-dusty-filmy "kitchen-y" dirt on them? Thanks!!😊
Great idea for using hardibacker first on the floor then the tile we did the same in Miami it will be forever good luck we know what caring tile by tile to the yard from the front of the home your stretch is much much longer.❤❤❤
Oh, I’m so looking forward to your unfitted kitchen look…I’m so glad I to have found your channel and love your ideas on all your projects you have done…you have inspired me on a lot of your decor/ideas that I put into our home…I love it so much…LOL…my hubby just shakes his head at me cause I’ve changed my decor a few times from primitive to farmhouse and now French farmhouse…but I loved them all…THANK YOU AGAIN for your videos and looking forward to Monday’s video…❤❤❤
How exciting!! I just finished (September) using my laundry room as my kitchen for a span of ten months (large diy reno). It’s exhausting but so worth it! Can’t wait to see your floors go in!!
👍🏼🤜🏼🤛🏼!!!! I'm in awe of your vision and fortitude!! You are AMAZING!!! I LOVE!! " A walk in the clouds!!" You have such a great attitude.. it's gonna get worse before it gets better! I love how you still " pretty up your space" in the mayhem. God bless you!!🕊️
I was so happy to find your channel years ago. You have that unique style that I absolutely love! Seems Everyone loves the white and gray sterile kitchen, I just can’t 😏 I feel the same about having all my things handy when creating meals for my family, and using lovely dishes to enjoy not hide away. I enjoy your style and appreciate your videos. Thank you for sharing
Have followed your journey before you moved...and oh have learned soooo much. So thankful for your channel...the talent you possess....is unreal...and your beautiful family...and oh so kind and funny hubby. GOD BLESS YA ALL..ALWAYS
Have you considered having a stencil made for that tile? You could still hand paint it but it might speed up the process. Maybe even something your little artists can help with? Less romantic but could help ensure you meet the goal of having enough. I tend to burnout and then settle, though you seem to have more internal fortitude than I do. 😂
@@ParisienneFarmgirl Looking forward to seeing it! You inspired me to consider doing things like when you first started. Wallpaper is just more pricey that I can stomach but I have looked at stencils for that. As always, love seeing the things you do!!
I can't wait to see the tile you chose. Wonder if it's the same thing that Shaye has? I love your kitchen, it's always been one of my favorite rooms in your home.
Lots of exciting changes to look forward to. I can't even imagine the amount of work. But the final reveal will show us it was all worth it. As for the tile hauling.... can you attached a trailer to the back of your gater and drive in small loads at a time?
I'd LOVE to own a Gator. Sadly, we're not that cool. LOL. And our driveway gets TRASHED with potholes from the snow. We will be bringing it down in the back of the pickup, VERY carefully. Video coming:)
For the copper sink you could use antique turrned porch posts for the legs. You could flip the post upside down to use the square bottom as the flat area to mount the sink too then locate a section in the post where it would create a dramatic foot at the correct height to cut it off. Depending on the height of the posts you might be able to get all four legs out of two posts.
Great idea - it's not really the look I"m going for. I have a victorian brass crib I'd like a welder (or myself) to turn into legs for the sink to compliment the rest of the brass in the ktichen.
Can’t wait to see the finished project. That hand painted tile looks great! A sneak peak ofwhat is to come. We redid 2 kitchens so much work but so worth it both times. Now we build (a major downside) dream home and had the kitchen/dining room all done for us this time and am loving it. It’s just the2 of us now except when they all come home and bring the grands.
Any reason why your not putting the hardy board over the existing floors? I honestly dont think you'll harvest much if its tounge and groove. My moms was a horrendous splintery job.
Well, for one, it would be an inch higher than the rest of the house and I really don't want that much of a transition if I can help it. We'll only know once we get in there and start:)
@@ParisienneFarmgirl , I see. I understand about the transitions. I like them seamless too. Makes perfect sense. Enjoy this journey, you've planned and waited a long time. Savor it.
Looking great! Cannot wait to see your "new" kitchen when you are finished. I had to laugh at the blue wallpaper, we had that same one when we moved into our home and it was the first thing to go!!! God Bless you and your beautiful family :)

I love the look of a well worn “lived in” family home.
So excited for this next phase! It is going to be fabulous. In the middle of chaos still looking chic my friend. 💋
How dare you make fun of JC Pen’a! Clearly it’s a French department store 😂

Currently, saving for a kitchen makeover. I think my upper cupboards are going bye bye. Devol Kitchens are my inspiration for the makeover.😍
Devol kitchens. Ah me. I have their faucet in my "mental shopping cart". I'll accept nothing else. lol

GET OUTTA HERE my parents had that original blue floral wallpaper in their 1989 house 😂 I am cracking up- it is straight out of the 80s
Legit:)
Ahhh. From the first glimpse in this video, the breathing space that you get from losing those cabinets is just perfect.
My dream kitchen is the unfitted kitchen. 😊❤
Installed cabinets are ugly and over rated. Please get some beautiful free-standing cabinets/armoires. 😍
Very beautiful and sooo inspiring. Will your tiles be washable?...
You and family are amazing. I know many wish for a hubby like yours!!
Iam so excited for you! Can hardly wait to see all the changes. Thank you for all of your hard work and for sharing your life with us. God Bless!
Wow Angela love the handpainted tiles, we are in a remodel also. The older I get the remodeling becomes more challenging, but still exciting!
I tell all my remodel clients. "take a deep breath just relax. Remodeling is like child birth. After a remodel is all over you will forget the pain"
I think the floor tiles are going to be great....but I truly love the wood floor too. This room will be quite the transformation!

I have a question for you, Angela. Do you have French Ancestry? I love all that is French but do not have French ancestry. Thank you! ❤
I do. Alsatian, (Strasbourg) so my family spoke German.
HAPPY Friday Angela, family, and fur babies. I KNOW you, Joel, and the family can do it! I am here for all the things. STTB

Sadly the glass paint is too fussy for a stencil. I do use one to lightly sketch the shape and I'll show that process next week.

I also had blue wall paper with flowers in the kitchen and living room. It was contagious.
