Hope you enjoyed the video! Im really liking ZZZ, but there are some things that need to change for sure to keep players and myself around. I've gotten farther and the endgame stuff seems cool so I'll make another video updating you all on that. You can download the game here hoyo.link/dV0jF3AL if you wanna try it out!
People saying the game is easy? Really? Cos it's kinda difficult for me. Maybe I play on mobile but isn't easy. 😂😂😂 Or maybe skill issue? I dunno but IDC cos it's fun and I'm enjoying it.
doro, when people say the size of the game is a problem, it means the game file size is the problem, not the size of the ingame world. As a non-open world game and for version 1.0, ZZZ file size is as big as genshin 4.7.
@@someoneinasia yeah doro wouldnt notice cause its to stupid to brag about clearly it has most cutscene among any gacha game , npc has various design so as the playable characters model from tiny human to literaly ben bigger
There actually is an "extra hard" mode, you should have been able to unlock it by now. Go back to chapter 1 story commissions and there is a toggle to switch it to "extra hard". It's basically a storyless remixed boss rush mode with more agressive/harder fights. Chapter1 extra hard is pretty manageable but it only gets harder from there.
I think the best part is the story telling and the animations. Whilst the story may not be the best around, they way they tell the story is the ABSOLUTE BEST. Characters are fluid, they're expressive all the time, they feel ALIVE. It's a joy to play thru
I think a lot of people are judging the story too early tbh. I'm about halfway through chapter 2 and it feels like they're laying the groundwork to establish the setting. The story is relatively low-stakes right now, but based on the lore trailer they released a few days ago it definitely seems like they're building up to something bigger. We only have three chapters right now, it's going to take some time to get into the "big picture" stuff.
For me it's the best story presentation so far in a hoyo game. Genshin is so damn dragged out and hsr is simply boring(I literally fell asleep during it). Here they gave us a skip button and I didn't use it a single time. Also no paimon and sole fact all the siblings are present the whole time with full dub.
I also thought that the story wasn't the best when I started the game, but after playing chapter 2, I changed my mind because it really had a different vibe and made it much more enjoyable.
The story is good though and the characters have depth.. people skip over how deep Nicole is.. she's not just a bratty bossy gyaru, she's a really kind and caring leader who always looks out for others.. the fact that she's the leader of her gang shows that she's not just a bossy brat but her members actually respect her.. which is shown whenever Billy and Anby look for her final say whenever they are making a decision..
Personally I really love the style of ZZZ's world and story. Genshin's and HSR's story feels so big and lore rich (which is also nice) but in ZZZ you're just some person working with their sibling from your TV shop and that slice of life-y feel just has a completely different vibe. And the artstyle and music just fits that so well
@@skyliaan6247 At level 30/31 after completing chapter 2 interlude, you will get a quest called "Anby's problem". After this quest, you've unlocked Trust system for the Agents that you owned. You can invite them to hangout by phone. The more you hang out with a character, the more they can show up dynamically in the world (fire icon beside the agent pfp in the trust window. There is also multiple voiced unique interactions for each agent. PSA: There are interactions that will decrease the trust of the Agent if you choose the wrong answer. So don't just mash OK for the conversations.
I was expecting not to like the tv stuff because of all the complaints I was hearing, but I honestly really like it! It feels like a fun little puzzle mode, and while sometimes I found myself wishing I could just get through it faster when the puzzle involved was easy, for the most part, it's been pretty solid. Also as someone who never got into Honkai Impact, coming from Genshin and Starrail, it's so refreshing to have a voiced MC, and I'm glad we get to see both siblings together regardless of who you choose!
I also enjoy the TV navigation, they do some neat stuff with it in terms of gameplay gimmicks and abstract storytelling, plus it helps with pacing. There are also Rally Commissions a little further into the story (I think around Chapter 2?) that are long-form all-combat missions. I think they added those in response to the negative feedback about the TV mode and I like the idea of having something for everyone, although I hope they don't phase out the TV mode in favor of just rally commission-style stages.
Honestly some tv puzzles are absolutely enraging to deal with, and ONE QUEST TOOK FUCKING 30 MINUTES OF TV GAMEPLAY, but generally it's okay, it's just a rogue like sprinkled with some puzzles and it's just, even if i don't have a lot of fun it just works. Just wish that it was little less a little easier sometimes.
@@taobunny Yeah hoyo keeps making that mistake. It's well known that taking control away from players is bad design. The issue is that hoyo is too afraid that casual players will get lost without the hand-holding.
I guess im in minority that actually like the tv system. Cause it's nice interpretation of traveling in hollow. Plus it's interactive to be honest, it's not stagnant experience. And also animation is cute. Oh also it's kinda calm a bit and can be a place for me to rest from fighting too.
HSR spikes my anxiety, Genshin Spikes my anxiety, but ZZZ gives me happiness and I love everything about it! As a F2P it's fun and my type of game I have like 20 hrs in and I'm like at inter rank 29 and the story is fun and the combat system too! I never have to pause the game to shake my hands or take a break I can just keep going! I love ZZZ and I'm glad the community is small because less drama! Thank you for reviewing this game
The weekly bosses are not easy, it requires some practice, and their attacks are not easy to dodge and parry, because they do chain attacks, need to press dodge/parry multiple times while timing it right.
The one of the best things Hoyo did for this game was put in that banger of a soundtrack when you pull an SSR. Completely changes your mood once the lyrics start.
HSR didn't stick with me, WW didn't stick either, but ZZZ for some reason does. I thought I wanted another Genshin game, but that would be too much. This is different enough, but still feels a bit familiar. I don't know if that makes sense.
Genshin is great, but the burnout can be a problem. I'm gonna take a break for half a year mbe and thought mbe try out HSR in the meantime but I just couldn't stick with it. It didn't seem to be my thing, so when I saw that ZZZ was finally available I thought 'huh lets give it a try' and haven't regretted it since. Played it all day without any problem, just like how I did with Genshin in Mondstadt and Liyue initially. Looking forward to how things gonna unfold.
Animations are insane, I love them! I’m fine with a slow start to a story, and I actually do like the story itself (I like visual novels). The combat spices up the admittedly long story sections, which is cool. It’s also not too hard, so my casual self can enjoy it without thinking too much
11:31 it's a shame it seems that petting the cat was only once bc I would have done it with all of the stray cats that are in the city, tbh it was one of the things that picked my interest from this game (with the Persona vibe and funny animations)
I actually like the story, i think it's one off Hoyo's better written games. The voice acting being top-tier and the MC actually talking a lot definitely help the story to be more enjoyable, too.
Interknot level 41 here. Combat spikes up MASSIVELY when you unlock shuyu defense (spiral abyss/memory of chaos of ZZZ) and the later Hollow Zeros I found very difficult. I definitely recommend sticking to this game and trying out everything the game has to offer (there a lot of hidden things too!) since ZZZ has managed to lay out a great starting foundation and can improve on it. Also personally I love the TV system, it’s much different to what we have and open opportunities for potential user generated commissions for a future event, like that time where genshin allowed players to create their own challenges and domains.
The game is definitely fine. And I think the more time that passes people will appreciate it more and more. They seemed to have judged chapter 1 of ZZZ to Wuthering Waves' endgame and are calling it bad because of it.
@@OkSear That's usually how it is with these gacha games. We're not going to be able to clear the hardest content in the game as F2P. At least, I can't. HSR has pretty much pushed me out completely with its back to back required characters and ever increasing content difficulty.
@OkSear that's a stupid things to say especially when reaching level 41 isn't even hard to do as f2p you can do quite literally everything in this game without spending money
I think a lot of people don't appreciate how well this plays on phone. Like in genshin, the open world traversal and how some characters fight is really annoying on phone. People are mad there isn't a jump button, but it actually makes phone use so much better, because it's less clutter to accidentally hit on screen and one less mechanic to try and finesse. This doesn't mean it's easier or simpler, because they just moved the complexity and actions into fewer buttons. The smaller world makes it better for phone too, because again your able to play the game better with clunkier controls without frustration; for example, trying to glide and then navigate a tricky cave entrance while climbing to pick some resources instead of just going to a building. Some may find it fun to run resource routes every 2 days, but I much prefer my chores to be condensed. The combat is still tricky enough to be entertaining as you strive for a perfect anime looking fight as you rotate and adapt combos, and react to punishes with swaps and such. The player skill and expression may not be needed yet, but it's fun getting better at and I'm sure they'll add harder content as players provide feedback so the prep won't go to waste.
I've been addicted to playing it that I haven't watched much of CCs during the 5 days it has been around, and you were the very first big CC to pop out of my YT feed, and I'm glad you were the first I saw. :) We pretty much have the same comments, but I personally love the story though cos of how grounded it is so far, unlike Genshin and HSR which I both love as well. In ZZZ though, it starts off much like an opening episode of any anime and lets you ease in in the world very well that by the time I put in tons of hours, I have a full grasp of how the story flows. How it is presented as well is very stylistic and creative that it makes it very engaging even if the story is not as gripping for other people. Anyway, I'm so in love with this world and I hope people will try it for what it can offer!
One problem is, the sushi restaurant has a pizza poster on it so people thought the restaurant serves italian. In other words, hoyoverse messed up by over promoting their combat, that's why some people expected a lot on that part. As a casual, I'm okay with it and I have other games that satisfy my combat carving but I get why some people hate ZZZ.
People say that the game is like copy of HI3, but I doubt it. I like the game so far, but im still low level. Need to keep playing more to get more harder content. If you guys enjoy the game, just keep playing it. Don't hear what other people opinion, enjoying the game is better
I've played HI3 for a very brief period (only one day because it had no male characters to play as lol) and yeah ZZZ is like a direct upgrade on HI3, and a massive one at that, at least on the surface level of how the battle mechanics work.
as a long time hi3 player(6 years player), i would said ZZZ do take a lot of mechanic and stuff from hi3 but they give it a new spin and double down on certain aspect which made the game feel a lot different from hi3. While i was playing, i can see which mechanic and stuff that they take from hi3 but my thought was like "oh so they did it this way compare to hi3" or "this is better than what hi3 have" etc etc
i agree with you chad,i hate when other player tried the game and judge it too early without dive the game more deeper, after the commission we will get more combat when we unlock hunt, shiyu defense, hollow zero and cleanup or combat in H.D.D
@@amirimamuddin6869 nah, zzz map layout is similar to hi3rd, I can say it's hi3rd downgrade, and.... If u play beta zzz u will understand why people hate it so much
for the past 2 months, i’ve been having fun with this game, from my perspective there aren’t any glaring issues or anything like that, it’s just the leveling issue while doing the main story, i do all the side quests and stuff and they just don’t provide enough
@Áyavensu-i6f It was for me too in the first few hours, until muscle memory started to kick in, and now it's soooo smooth. Difficulty needs to go up, but it is really satisfying chaining attacks practically nonstop.
The combat is so addicting! Another big pro for me is the high quality voice acting. It really helps with the immersion, I love the Manga/Animated combo with story dialog so much!
THIS is how you do a first impressions video about the game! A lot of love, strong dislikes, genuine passion for what the game brought out of you, and you even came back AFTER recording your initial impressions to update further before release. Loving the JSRF representation and I had no idea you loved that game, Doro! We gotta talk more about our childhood. LOL
Honestly, I really like the TV system, I hope they don't remove it. Your MC is a hacker guide, so having them work and solve the situation from the PC is kinda neat. You have both your Agents inside the Hollow with the combat and your MC from the outside with the TV mode.
That's just wrong though. The MC is literally piloting Eous and physically running along with the combat characters. The TVs are completely a design choice.
@@tetraavalon3664 It isn't actually. The MC is both siblings, while one is piloting Eous the other is working with Fairy to trace routes and recognize the Hollow.
@@javahikage You choose which MC you control at the start. You're just trying to justify the TVs as perfectly making sense, but it just doesn't. It's pure design choice from the devs.
Call me crazy but i actually enjoy the story bein Mid, not complex, not "deep", just a pair of siblings looking for "something" while trying to get to the next month by working as a proxy while also managing a video store and getting in trouble from time to time XD The Tv thing doesnt really bother me but i also wont be crying if they take it away or reduce its presence in the gameplay
The story is so goofy and fun, like the whole portal scene with zhu yuan😭 and even every scene in which anton is!!! Ong i love this game, its gonna be ny comfort game
The story is pretty solid cuz it doesn’t make me want to skip every 5 seconds as I did in wuwa, and it has some peak moments. I’ve been going to bed with the sound of shark maid’s weapon in my dreams, very addicting indeed.
I personally find the story super interesting but I have to admit that the way the story and tutorial sections of the story need to flow together a little but better! But overall it’s a game I enjoy so far! Is it as good as genshin for me? No but is it a good side game? Definitely!
I don't mind the TV system but I can see they might be testing a better way to do it with the rally version. The story does get better I've seen the lore trailer so I'm looking forward to the lore.
the wall in terms of energy is insane. Aside from the material grind, it takes me a long time to level up my Inter-Knot 32 so I can play the main story at 34 EDIT : 3:54 there is a hard mode BUT it's only for time trials. As with Genshin, the endgame content will be very hard as it will become some sort of rhythm game EDIT : 12:25 STORY - imo chapter 2 is where it begins to pick up lore wise. The intro of the new threat, and the hidden part about the monument is enough to reel me in
The thing about the game that gets me the most is the amount of character attitudes and how well the music sets the atmosphere. Take for instance, Nekomata. Seeing her bounce out into view and look around before a fight, only to give a mischievous grin as a soundtrack straight out of mid-00's Devil May Cry begins to roar to life. It gave me chills when I got to hear the Construction area soundtrack for Hollow Zero.
And one of the weirdest characters to interact with, Grace low-key freaks me out when she talks to machines 😂. But I love her for it, her story mission was cool too.
I love playing this game. I’ve been playing a nonstop for some reason my favorite part is the fact that from the two siblings you choose from in the beginning throughout the story even if you pick one the other one is still part of the story and talks and they both have a good amount of voice lines 😂
It's fun to me. Like people said that it's Persona, you have your job and life to take care and at the same time you also build your relationships with people while also doing secret work behind the scene.
Good on you for using Jet Set Radio music for part of this video. The main reason I downloaded the game was because I saw someone suggest it reminded them of Jet Grind Radio/Jet Set Radio Future with different combat/gameplay and that sounded absolutely perfect to me. I'm really enjoying it... Haven't played much at all of the Persona series, but the one game I did try I can definitely see the resemblance. It's fun, the world is really beautiful and has cool details, I enjoy the characters, the music, the combat, the dialog... One of the few cons so far is simply I'd like more vibrant colors in more of the character designs and less characters that look like kids, lol. That's just personal preference though and I do overall enjoy the characters I've pulled, some of the designs just don't do much for me. I do love Billy, Nicole, Lycaon, Ben, Neko, etc. The story does start a little slow but so far I'm digging it... Just needs a bit more time to pickup completely I think. I'm only starting chapter 2 so it probably will. No idea if it'll hold my interest long term, but tbh I didn't initially expect Star Rail to either and it did, so it's certainly possible!
Funny how people always expect Story combat to be extra hard... it's not a souls game. Story combat is made for any player to go through, and for some very casual players, it's not that easy. I have a friend that only has the time to play like once a week on their phone a bit, and for her the combat is not easy, but at least she can make it through story. Stop expecting story-mode fights to be hard af. And before complaining about whether combat is hard or not, get to the end game content, because it does get harder. And you can also replay the story fights in a harder version (those are still not very hard tho), but the deeper you go into hollow zero, and then the Shiyu defense will be harder fights.
the stages without the TV already exist. they are the Rally which is fairly fun. I can see more stage moving to that format. but don't expect them to get rid of the TV.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by the rally commissions and I really like the TV stuff. I'm totally fine with TV navigation for story stages and Rally as their own thing for side missions.
for those who crave for "real" hard mode (Shiyu Defense mode+red quest in combat zone) and want to unlock them fast. please choose "casual mode" on story so you can breeze through it with lesser time. then you can have fun with harder stuff that unlocked from story progression later on. be warned tho, doing so will leave you a big portion of time spend on TV mode instead which if you hate it, you're gonna hate it more... if you want a balanced experience then just do story "challenge mode" like everyone else does. it just not time efficient imo.
They could just make the TV system a small minimap cuz storywise a hollow is a distorted space that requires a proxy to help navigate. I don't mind the TV gameplay at all cuz i get the loot easier this way than walking around finding it every nook and cranny on the open map. The only problem i have is that the energy cost for farming is very high so I would burn all my energy just to farm something one or two times. And that's not even considering that if you wanna get more rewards the energy cost goes up as well.
Great video Doro! I personally think that the Story is holding up well as far as the introductory narrative is concerned. Uncovering the Vision scandal was a surprise, and the mystery around "Fairy" and its "agreement" between it and the MC is a great start for what seems to be an overarching plot. The recent Lore Trailer they released only built my interest and anticipation further. I suggest everyone go check it out. This 1.0 is a great foundation for what's possibly to come.
15:50 I think we actually have that gameplay mode in the game called the Rally Mode Mission, where instead of being at the proxy's POV where we guide the agents of where to go, we are at the agents POV we are the one being guided instead. I don't know if this game mode is in the Beta or not, but I just tried it because I only recently unlocked it and I think it's cool. 😄
I’ll be honest, I was sold on this game ages ago, and I’ve been loving it. ( the animation style of the game is something that I’ve been absolutely in love with, all of the cutscenes and characters have felt super lively and wonderful) I understand why a lot of people are saying the story is meh so far, but thinking about it I don’t mind the story being a bit of a slower burn, I think that as we go through the 1.0 up until 2.0 the story is gonna be going through a lot of changes and that as you play the game the stories gonna shake up a whole bunch.
I actually value this game's story because it's not the tropey "MC wakes up in an unknown world with amnesia and now needs to save it" I like that it's different. Different for me, I haven't played Persona yet, or seen anything similar.
I grabbed it when it dropped, currently doing the intermission for chapter 2. It's definitely fun, I don't find fault with the tv system because it's something different to go along with the combat. Because honestly that's the only thing our MC can do really besides run around and chat with folks. Hollow zero's going to be interesting to investigate because that's where I feel all the lore is, which is very cool like I picked up an audio recording from the day the giant hollow happened and it was a conversation between two guys robbing an abandoned bank, so I'm interested in seeing more of what's laying around. Con's for me I think somethings are way to costly for stamina, other than that I don't think I got any other ones. All in all the game is fun.
Doro I’ve just reached interknot 36 and completed chapter 3 and I want to let u know the ups and downs since I pretty much experienced them all, so yes it does get better especially with chapter 3 fluid animations are awesome! But just to let u know, interknot 29-36 there will be like one quest each rank giving u like only 225 exp, so the only way u can lvl up is by daily exp such as commissions, weekly bosses, and ur battery charges or resin I forgot the name… point is it will get annoying since there will be no quests, but give them a chance, they are working their butt off so hard just to make such fluid animations, it’s not something u can do in a day or two, give ZZZ some time and there will be plenty of quests, so for now don’t quit it after all it just released and we don’t wanna pressure hoyoverse making updates for too much games at once also I Would like see ur pulls! After all I hope u don’t end up like me… 😭 I got koleda twice in standard and once in limited, she’s my least fav and prob the weakest! But I finally got Ellen which I’m gladly happy about, I wish everyone a great time in zzz and goodluck on all ur pulls!
I absolutely love the TV system for the puzzle aspect, not so much the traversal of each mission. I feel like if they toned back the traversal to an actual exploration and kept the TV system for the puzzles then more people would enjoy it WAY more
I found myself loving the game way more than I thought! The combat feels really satisfying, the characters are all awesome in terms of personality and I love doing stuff in the world. I think the biggest improvement could be the story, and I think the reason it hasn’t grabbed people nearly as much is because of the scope of the story so far. I’ve played through Chapter 2, and this game so far has focused on more small scale, character-centric stories than the usual Hoyo save the nation/planet type stories. This benefits the characters in terms of giving them more personality, but it makes the stakes much smaller as a result. I’ve found myself caring more for the characters because of this but the story itself (as an overarching narrative) doesn’t draw me in nearly as much
I love how even the A ranks have their own signature engines! My favourite characters so far are Anton, Ben, Billy, Anby and Ellen! I love how chaotic both the cunning hares and Belobog industries are! 😂
I found it funny how YOU were the one that got me into this game. Story was you tweeted out on X that you got Soldier 11, the character you wanted and I was like: "Hey, this game looks interesting. Might as well give it a try." So I downloaded it, got my Standard pulls and ironically, I got Soldier 11 as my first S rank character. Sadly fun got spoiled as couple days after I lost my 50/50 to Rina on Ellen's banner, AT 83 PITY!!! I'm not mad, just disappointed. But not disappointed to willingly drop the game immediately. I think this game is a fresh breath of air from Genshin and HSR, the 2 games that I have mastered and all my characters built. So to have something where I can start my pace slower than before, feels nice. So, thank you Doro ❤❤❤
You said you’re starting this game at a slower pace than hsr and genshin, yet you said you already got to 83 pity. That’s still lightning fast pace my dude. Can’t imagine how much hsr and genshin you played. (I play them a ton aswell)
@@overscore2097 uh raising the character bing bong ??? I just 10 pull everytime I got a 10 pull, that's just my gamble self taking over. Zero correlation to me "enjoying the game at a slow pace"...
@@duyetpham2003 I also do ten pulls whenever I have them. You just play these gacha games a lot and really fast. (Nothing wrong with that) I agree raising characters is where it’ll probably end up taking the longest when compared to other games due taking it slow with this one. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night.
Second Hoyo game for me after genshin. I did the skip story mode...and at first the combat didnt thrill me either. Then I learned attack combos and now its a blast! In fact as Im typing this I am currently sculpting an Ellen Joe figure
I found the TV system is not that bad, i kinda enjoy it over the fact that i have to search through every corner of the place i’m combating i for a chest or a loot. It’s a fresh air for me. But ig like u said, for some ppl it kills the mood
The combat is so satisfying especially when you get Chian attacks back to back and i really love the fast movements and flashes its just so oddly satisfying
i just want the enemies to do more attacks or more complex ones at higher levels not just bullet sponges hopefully w street fighter devs we can get more in depth combat pretty decent for a hoyo game so far tho
I had the same thoughts on the story but chapter 2 was definitely an improvement. Rn the combat seems to have more depth than I feel like I’m able to utilize and I’m still getting S rank on all the challenge content. When it clicks and you get your rotation going with back to back full team chain attacks it feels very fun but it feels more like I’m just responding to the combat rather than driving it
2:20 They do not.. CLARIFICATION you have to earn those pulls… you’re not suddenly going to see like 108 pulls in your inbox right when you start the game… which was upsetting allot of players because it’s basically lying… what they did, is add up all what you can get from playing the game, with extra rewards and bla bla bla.. i think you get around TWENTY FREE pulls when you start the game… which is allot different…
It literally said in the description of the ad they released with Billy & Nicole that you have to actually play the game to earn the rewards. Just simply read the description and it explains, if you’ve played gacha games before you should know they don’t just hand you all the rewards together on a silver platter, you have to actually play the game. Genshin, Star Rail, and Honkai Impact do the same thing. It literally also says in the bottom corner “Rewards can be obtained through game events & via email”
I'm a very casual mom gamer and I'm doing the story on easy mode but even then, the combat is very satisfying. I think it's a combination of the animations and sound design. Like, when you block/parry, it really feels like you're blocking/parrying because of how "heavy" the movement looks and the accompanying sound effects. It's just flawless for me! I only just opened Shiyu Defense and I'm excited to build more characters to check things out. :) The story is just okay-ish for me but I can say that Chapter 2 is a lot better than Chapter 1. Thanks for this video, Doro! I appreciate you and your voice in the community. :)
Honestly, the TV system is one of the best things in the game for me. I don't want just combat, I want to think with puzzles too. I don't want them to get rid of it at all, it keeps the identity of the game so I really just hope they keep it tbh, it's new it's fun and it makes sense with a proxy who uses a bangboo to traverses the hallow. If it's not open world, at least we get a TV system, we can also communicate with fairy too in it! So I disagree with you on that and the story, the story has been one of the best they put out, the world-building is amazing!
The story hooked me from the beginning. Its so super intense or anything but it felt really down to earth and that fits with the chill vibe of the game
Tbh I wanted to try this game cuz the soundtracks were banger and idgaf about the story cuz the character designs looked so unserious but it’s actually making a lot sense the more I play through the story and now I’m locked in. It’s in that “growing attachments” phase so of course the story is slow so I’m sticking to it until we meet all the organizations introduced. I’m starting to love the world. I hope the ethereals don’t get any closer to Sixth Street cuz I love the city ambiance.
I play all the games GI, HSR and ZZZ and honestly I just love them all for different reasons. GI is the lore, it’s deep and engaging and nothing is just there. It’s a whole world that has a complicated past and an uncertain future. Combat is fun and I enjoy the reaction based system. Significantly less complicated than MMO combat. HSR the lore isn’t so deep, but the story keeps me engaged and I get attached to the characters. I love how meme-y it can be and the whole trash panda vibe with our MC is hilarious! I love the turn based combat and that 4-stars feel like 5-stars with their nice burst animations. ZZZ while Chapter 1 was a bit boring the comedy got me laughing for sure. It made me come to love Nekomata and Anby. It got better invested in the characters and the mystery surrounding Fairy has piqued my interest. Also i love the interaction with the siblings, they’re affectionate and kind to one another. They worry about the other and the whole “annoying sibling” trope isn’t played to death (so far). For me the combat isn’t the main focus, like it’s nice but I can deal with poor combat over poor story. Is how I feel, I think all of the hoyogames have their pros and cons and people can be hyper critical of like GI and HSR but if we respect each game as their own entity without comparisons, then they shine in their own ways.
I also love all 3, but I have to disagree about Star Rail's lore not being deep. To be fair I haven't started the Sumeru archon quest yet in Genshin and I hear that's where it really starts popping off, but imo Star Rail lore goes very deep. There are so many factions with their own alignments and motivations, backstories for worlds we haven't even seen yet, and major historic events represented in the Simulated Universe expansion modes. They've hinted at a lot of stuff that I'm sure they'll continue to expand on in the future.
Love this game. Its nice to play something that has a lot of soul and is not open world. Bigger is not always better. Looking forward to upcoming content
To add to the animation inspired section next to studio Trigger's animes (we can also mention Kill La Kill and Kiznaiver for the fighting and urban style respectively), I also found personally a... Code Lyoko inspiration? You as the "hero" behind a computer to help your friends in a distorted dimension fighting monsters, and funny enough with a team of three (Odd, Yumi and Ulrich if we count Aelita as bonus), and yeah it gave me more interest for the game. I only finished chapter 1 so far but I like it :)
I love the tv system, its a fun puzzle game mode but it needs to not be apart of the main game, it would be a massive highlight if it was in the godfinger arcade, for example.
I hope that future characters up the combat options with attacks that lift and aerial combos (which don't have to be like paired with a jump or anything, just combos that take enemies up in the air and keep them there for a sec whilst I switch and continue and juggle).
i enjoy the TV system because it feels like the “man in the chair” part. you’re switching between your navigator and your fighters. like playing both sides of your persona party.
I love the combat…. That’s it, the rest is pretty average, nothing special. I don’t think I’ll be playing it in a month, except for when I would get super bored in the train.
@@rjwallace7477 I can see that: I stopped playing Genshin after loosing every 50/50, and being scammed by the weapon banner, so I wasn’t able to get my queen (Furina), and since I stopped, I’m a happier man with more time around the clock. I love WuWa though.
The "TVs" have an indicator of the pressure of the ether, in addition, there is a mechanism for moving between the "floors" of the hollow (I think it was partially shown in the first fall of Enby into the hollow, and she flew parallel to the ground) Yes, they said they would try to move from "playing on a board" to a complete map, but it seems to me that the possibilities of televisions are much more as a gameplay than just visual perception - you just need to apply more imagination. Besides, as I understand it, the TVs are in our room, and that's how our sister sees our team and the map.
@@jaymeeduhh There is a Download Link for the game in the description and in the pinned comment, if you watch other videos that are sponsored by Hoyo its always like that. Its a rule given by Hoyo to the creators when they are sponsoring a video. Doro should at least be transparent and say that its a sposored Video. And just how the beginning of the Video is structured its obvious that its sponsored.... even for blind people. If you search for Zenless zone zero and click through the videos you can see which are Sponsored and which are not just by following this rule.
"I wish they add an extra hard mode for those who want a challenge", I can see Hoyo adding a boss that OHKO you no matter how much HP and def you have if you dare not perfect dodge this one attack it has, mostly, because they did that already once (I mean, it's not OHKO in the strict sense... but... 2 billion damage, in Honkai Impact 3rd). Also, completly agree with the Open World thing, for some reason, since some years, there's a lot of people that seem to think that Open World = Good Game, and while there are some VERY GOOD Open World games, I've also seen new entries for series where they hurt the formula that had been working for a long time, just because they turned it into a Open World.
I'm really sad about people's opinions on the TVs, I've played around 30 hours of the game and getting to go through the TVs is a lot of fun. I'm also someone who really enjoys the combat despite hating combat in most games, it's just the TVs made it so unique to me and it breaks up the game but adds a puzzle element to just getting around that I personally enjoy. Although they talked about it, I hope they don't completely get rid of the mechanic :(
I am addicted towards this game so much I play HSR and ww once or twice in a week but currently my target is to complete the story quest ASAP then I move towards the other two game
One of my cons kinda goes into the whole tv thing... I don't really mind the monitor exploration thing, but one of the cons of such a system is that the only time we get to roam around and use our characters is during combat, and depending on the difficulty, will only make up a small percentage of the overall time in-mission. On top of that, they HEAVILY re-use environments and assets. I cannot tell you how much of this game takes place in front of that damn belebog monument. And I could swear the vast majority of this game takes place in the exact same construction site.
Hoyoverse is amazingly expert at making presentation of something. Regarding this, in this game ZZZ, Hoyo is doing it again with how good they are making the story-presentation and exploration-presentation and combat-progression. What I can say is, if other company make the same story, I doubt they could present the ZZZ story (the story presentation and also the storytelling) as good as what Hoyo has done, and this is really important to impress the audience/players. The same thing with how unique and innovative the exploration is, which is in form of TVs exploration, and Hoyo is doing it again, they make this feature (exploration with TVs) presentation so good and well progressing, even when the audience/players are really unfamiliar and almost dislike it, but in couple days of playing, the game manage to actually impress the players and make them realize how unique, good and fun this TV exploration. Earlier, the TVs are like boring things, but as we get more more unique implementation of gameplay (puzzles, etc), players realize that the exploration gameplay is fun, but it is not too time-consuming like a real open world exploration gameplay. In short, the game is actually good and unique, and I think Hoyo is doing it again, making a high quality game with innovation especially regarding overall gaming experience, without forcing player to spend too much time as per daily basis.

It's a joy to play thru
the animations are out of this world
the talking animations actually match the audio, at least with the japanese audio im using. really hated that about genshin
@@nerio1227 totally agree with u
I also thought that the story wasn't the best when I started the game, but after playing chapter 2, I changed my mind because it really had a different vibe and made it much more enjoyable.
ive been doing chapter 2 and by far its better than 1
yeah the comedy is far best at hoyo games
I agree, once you get past the Cunning Hares the story gets better. No Furina AQ but better than the beginning at least
@@heyzakuro nah its not beating star rail comedy but there is funny scenes half of them are billy scenes

@Wanderer8045 I got huge persona vibes ! To be it's like a personal impact third mix and I'm down for it.
Just wish that it was little less a little easier sometimes.
that's why i ignore those and just enjoy what the game has to offer on my own pace.
honestly the only thing i dont like about the tv navigation is not being able to move when someone is talking - other than that its fun
@@taobunny Yeah hoyo keeps making that mistake. It's well known that taking control away from players is bad design. The issue is that hoyo is too afraid that casual players will get lost without the hand-holding.

Genshin is so much, it feels boring. ZZZ is more casual and fun.

Seen a lot of negative critism about this game, but personally I have been enjoying this game A LOT.

Is it f2p?
I actually like the story, i think it's one off Hoyo's better written games. The voice acting being top-tier and the MC actually talking a lot definitely help the story to be more enjoyable, too.
Definitely. The presentation and quality are top notch.
If you are lvl41 already ur probably a whale, and you find the combat hard? No hope for me then as a f2p noob
@@OkSear Only a dolphin, already spent money but only 70 dollars so far
I've played on phone and now I think phones are the reason it needs to be easy, it's hard to play on phone.

We pretty much have the same comments, but I personally love the story though cos of how grounded it is so far, unlike Genshin and HSR which I both love as well.
The story has depth, trust me. It takes time, but I know it'll get more interesting as we progress.

I love the puzzle aspect of the TV system as well. I think there's a lot of potential there.

the wall in terms of energy is insane. Aside from the material grind, it takes me a long time to level up my Inter-Knot 32 so I can play the main story at 34
EDIT : 3:54 there is a hard mode BUT it's only for time trials. As with Genshin, the endgame content will be very hard as it will become some sort of rhythm game
EDIT : 12:25 STORY - imo chapter 2 is where it begins to pick up lore wise. The intro of the new threat, and the hidden part about the monument is enough to reel me in
One major positive thing for me is that you can create customized combat rounds for grinding multiple different materials at once.
Ah I love it when grinding for 1 character!
I like the chapter 2 featuring Koleda and the Belobog Industry especially the fight with the machines😂
RIP Mr. White 🥲
I'm actually very appreciative of the fact that it's not open world. Don't think I can handle anothet one right now.
7:32 THIS DOES REMIND ME OF SPLATOON‼️‼️(I love Splatoon 🦑🦑)
the stages without the TV already exist. they are the Rally which is fairly fun.
( the animation style of the game is something that I’ve been absolutely in love with, all of the cutscenes and characters have felt super lively and wonderful)
I understand why a lot of people are saying the story is meh so far, but thinking about it I don’t mind the story being a bit of a slower burn, I think that as we go through the 1.0 up until 2.0 the story is gonna be going through a lot of changes and that as you play the game the stories gonna shake up a whole bunch.
An og fan
I actually value this game's story because it's not the tropey "MC wakes up in an unknown world with amnesia and now needs to save it"
I like that it's different. Different for me, I haven't played Persona yet, or seen anything similar.
Totally agree. Im really hyped about where this games gonna go with the story and characters, I feel like its gonna be good
I grabbed it when it dropped, currently doing the intermission for chapter 2.
I’ve found myself caring more for the characters because of this but the story itself (as an overarching narrative) doesn’t draw me in nearly as much
After watching that lore teaser trailer, there's no way the story's scope doesn't just get bigger from here on out. It's intriguing.
Zero correlation to me "enjoying the game at a slow pace"...
ayo thats sick! im glad youre enjoying it!
@@duyetpham2003 I also do ten pulls whenever I have them. You just play these gacha games a lot and really fast. (Nothing wrong with that)
I agree raising characters is where it’ll probably end up taking the longest when compared to other games due taking it slow with this one. Hope you have a great rest of your day/night.
@@overscore2097 Yeah I should've mentioned the cause behind it was the addicting aspect of the game. It's so much fun I can't put it down...😓😓😓
Second Hoyo game for me after genshin. I did the skip story mode...and at first the combat didnt thrill me either. Then I learned attack combos and now its a blast! In fact as Im typing this I am currently sculpting an Ellen Joe figure
Props to you Doro for mentioning Jet Set Radio. That was my first impression on this game.
I found the TV system is not that bad, i kinda enjoy it over the fact that i have to search through every corner of the place i’m combating i for a chest or a loot. It’s a fresh air for me. But ig like u said, for some ppl it kills the mood
at work.. cant wait to finish to start ZZZ again today.
lmao thats how ive been feeling
The combat is so satisfying especially when you get Chian attacks back to back and i really love the fast movements and flashes its just so oddly satisfying
I love the TV system, I am the only one ?
no bro, im with you , it just not people cup of tea, but for me i love it
Honestly I enjoy it too! I'm a puzzle enjoyer so when we get those areas that are just big ol' puzzles, I love that!
i just want the enemies to do more attacks or more complex ones at higher levels not just bullet sponges hopefully w street fighter devs we can get more in depth combat pretty decent for a hoyo game so far tho
I love it! I really love Ellen! Another game added to my laptop! GI, HSR, HI3, ZZZ, and WW!
(Poor Laptop)
On the next update your laptop overheat and dies
I have no more space on my phone for this 😭
I was forced to choose between this and star rail, so I took turns downloading and deleting both of them
@@shardinalwind7696wow
Ur so real for that@@shardinalwind7696
You aren't missing much.. better games about to play
@@shardinalwind7696 oh- that’s kinda smart ngl
Tbh ZZZ is in my opinion the best Hoyoverse game on gameplay and grind. I'm an Fighting Game and Character Action Game fan its perfect for me.
I like the tv system. I think its pretty cool.
Love this game. Its nice to play something that has a lot of soul and is not open world. Bigger is not always better. Looking forward to upcoming content
Love your content doro your an amazing streamer ❤️❤️❤️
thank you i appreciate you!
Bro the tv system is one of my favourite parts lmao
I love the tv system, its a fun puzzle game mode but it needs to not be apart of the main game, it would be a massive highlight if it was in the godfinger arcade, for example.
Good game. Really enjoying it 8.5/10
I hope that future characters up the combat options with attacks that lift and aerial combos (which don't have to be like paired with a jump or anything, just combos that take enemies up in the air and keep them there for a sec whilst I switch and continue and juggle).
The TV system is fine, it's very dungeon crawler in nature. People should quit complaining. You are a Proxy, this is part of that proxy gameplay.
i enjoy the TV system because it feels like the “man in the chair” part. you’re switching between your navigator and your fighters. like playing both sides of your persona party.
I love the combat…. That’s it, the rest is pretty average, nothing special. I don’t think I’ll be playing it in a month, except for when I would get super bored in the train.
My main problem is a play genshin and HSR so I can’t get into another gatcha and this gets my attention the least so I won’t be playing it
@@rjwallace7477 I can see that: I stopped playing Genshin after loosing every 50/50, and being scammed by the weapon banner, so I wasn’t able to get my queen (Furina), and since I stopped, I’m a happier man with more time around the clock.
I love WuWa though.
The "TVs" have an indicator of the pressure of the ether, in addition, there is a mechanism for moving between the "floors" of the hollow (I think it was partially shown in the first fall of Enby into the hollow, and she flew parallel to the ground)
Yes, they said they would try to move from "playing on a board" to a complete map, but it seems to me that the possibilities of televisions are much more as a gameplay than just visual perception - you just need to apply more imagination. Besides, as I understand it, the TVs are in our room, and that's how our sister sees our team and the map.
Naah, the game is shit.
I'm with you on this, I've found my game as well. I'm pretty burnt out on big open world games and this feels like a breathe of fresh air.
Sorry but this is obviously a sponsored video, so I will not watch it. "Honest" Review videos + sponsoring = Skip for me.
then why you click this video and make comment?😅
prolly for peeps like me who didnt know it was sponsored or bcus this is the internet
@@mio-hj4wk How should I have known that its sponsored without clicking on the video? 🤔
Where does it say sponsored. I don't see it in description
I started playing it today and already love it.
The Background Music makes me feel so goooood 💣✨
It literally became one of my favorite games one day after playing!!! It's awesome
