      I really don’t think you’ll regret it if you decide to go for it, but I do know what you mean, it is lethal and could lead to a super high to do pile! 🤣

    What a wonderful surprise!!!! Very snowy here in Pennsylvania. After shoveling my sidewalks and cleaning my car I come in anxious for a piping hot cup of tea and I find a Vicky video!
    This puzzle is just gorgeous. Still sorting though. I like to sort. I love the feeling of a big handful of pieces. I sometimes build as I go too. Trying hard to not think about the sheer size of this puzzle is hard but I tell my self it’s nine puzzles in one. It seems to be working.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  10 місяців тому +2

      Yay! I’m glad you are happy to see the video - we’ve had small amounts of snow, but not enough to be shovelling the sidewalks, thankfully!
      I’m so happy you are enjoying yours too, and if you like sorting, that is half the battle! Once you are sorted, the puzzle doesn’t quite feel so big. Thinking of it as 9 puzzles in one is clever, and if it works, then keep doing it! Can’t wait to hear more about your updates on the puzzle 😍

    This puzzle is turning out AMAZING! I also adore dragons and fantasy puzzles so this is right up my alley. Did you know that February 10th is the Chinese New Year AND that 2024 is the year of the dragon? Woot! Perfect timing for this puzzle, huh? 😊
    Looking forward to the rest! ❤

    Very nice to see this part completed! I'm about halfway through as well as I had to take some time off for neck pain. I can't say I've loved every minute of it, but then again I did combine both parts, so that's on me. 😅
    I think this is the more fun half. The sky and the wings on the dragon were probably my favourite parts. Such beautiful colours! The blurry texture on some of the rocks and the ground were less fun to stare at. But I think it was a great pick for a first 9k puzzle. There's so much variation that you never get bored with any one section of the picture.

      I must admit, having mixed Disney Museum, I just felt like I’d enjoy this one more if I built it in the sections - I’m sure I’d still love it either way, but it’s a looooot of sorting when it’s mixed! As you, no doubt, already know! 😬
      I agree, that sky area and the wings are beautiful, and were such a joy to build. I wasn’t such a fan of the darker bits 😁 good luck with the rest of your build!!

      @@Vickymakesandbuilds Usually I even enjoy sorting, but 9k pieces is definitively too much! I'm not doing that again. The main challenge of the puzzle becomes sorting rather than putting it together 😂

    Although I'm not drawn to fantasy puzzles in general (I mean for builds I do), I really enjoyed watching you build this one. The different kinds of gradients there is on this puzzles is so interesting, I love it! Can't wait to see it all assembled, the colors will be magnificent 😍

      @@Vickymakesandbuilds I finished it a few days ago. I loved how I just got absorbed by all the beauty and all the little details everywhere. Now I catch up with the rest of your videos, since I didn't want to spoil too much. I absolutely loved the puzzle. From my experience, good sorting is the most important part to not get overwhelmed. With double the pieces, there is so much more going on. I think I had more than 30 piles and a 3000ish-piece miscellaneous box in the beginning, but still made a mess of it. There is a lot of stuff that is easy to put into a giant miscellaneous or "this is just dark" pile. But with good light and when looking closely, I could make out a lot of features everywhere. The combinations of color and texture are always unique for a specific section of the puzzle. Especially the textures helped me a ton. Over and over again I realized that I could have sorted better by putting a little more attention to it. I ended up putting in hundreds of pieces by picking them out of badly sorted piles when already knowing where they went. Anyways, I enjoyed it so much and I really love the image, the quality, and the whole process. This puzzle is increadibly well made!

    I don't particularly like this picture, but on the micro level it does have beautiful textures and colours. Just for them it is worth giving it a try.
    Nice vid and effort, as always. Looking forward to the next part.

    It does look like a very beautiful puzzle. I'm curious to know why you like building large puzzles over smaller ones? -- is it a greater feeling of accomplishment at the end of a large puzzle, or do you like the look of a large one better? It must be such a delayed feeling of satisfaction though when it takes 100+ hours to complete one and such a challenge to sort so many pieces that look similar. I just completed a 3000 that I didn't enjoy at all, so now I'm wondering whether I'd actually enjoy doing a 5000-piece puzzle or whether I should just stick to one- and two-thousand pieces.

    • @heather6668
      @heather6668 10 місяців тому +2

      Hi. I find that I love the large ones, but it is satisfying to do some smaller ones in between, or even at the same time to take a break. Sorting is not my favourite part of any puzzle but the better you sort, the easier it will be to place the pieces when building. As for puzzle size, do what you feel you will enjoy. I find I enjoy the large ones but you have to love the image.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  10 місяців тому +2

      It’s hard to put my finger on why I love the large ones so much. There is just something about the epic size of the image, and how it looks when it’s done. I do feel a huge sense of accomplishment too. I love smaller puzzles as well though, I enjoy them all really, as long as the image is lovely and the quality is good 😊
      Admittedly I don’t enjoy sorting, but the build makes it all worth it, in smaller and larger puzzles alike 😍
      It’s a shame you didn’t enjoy your 3k, was that because of the size or something else?

    • @alisonm3946
      @alisonm3946 9 місяців тому

      It was simply because it was a muddy image and the only picture I had to go on was a small one from the front of the box. I would have enjoyed it if it had been a nicer image. I do think there's a special satisfaction one feels after the completion of a large puzzle -- it usually looks so nice all spread out. @@Vickymakesandbuilds

    This is NOT a 9K puzzle. It's 2 4500. Just silly and wrong to say it's 9K pieces.

    • @Vickymakesandbuilds
      @Vickymakesandbuilds  10 місяців тому +11

      Just to clarify, who is “silly and wrong” to say that? Me or Ravensburger?
      When complete, this puzzle is one continuous image made up of 9000 pieces, and indeed, that is the number printed on the Ravensburger box.
      I have heard, many times, the premise that large puzzles divided into smaller sections, aren’t one large puzzle, but several smaller. That is a premise that people are entitled to hold to, but one I happen to disagree with.
      I have built 9000 pieces before, mixed two halves of a 9k Ravensburger puzzle and built them all, when I did the Disney Museum. It is an achievement I am proud of, but feel no real need to repeat. Therefore I will build this 9000 piece puzzle in its two sections and enjoy the process, and the final result at the end, without really worrying about whether or not I should call it a 9000 piece puzzle.
