Been wearing my 777 for almost 6 years, has always run -5 sec/day. Wore the classic 6309 for 20 years before that.
Do you still enjoy wearing your nice 777?
I've wanted one for a long time. I got mine 4 weeks ago. I love it. I'm an ex soldier and have always used Casio but now as a civvie I still wanted a rugged man watch. It was my birthday. Wearing it now, what a gem!
Hell yeah man. Badass watch, and I'm happy to hear you are enjoying it
Do you still enjoying wearing this nice watch?
This is never going out of style and iconic, the style is like timeless
Well said. Do you have one? I sold mine but look back fondly
@@DimePieceTimepiece yup :)
@@DimePieceTimepiece I Love tuna as well but do not own one yet as well as the PADI
How am I just finding this channel? Love the no nonsense review.
Lol thanks man season 2 is coming I promise. Bunch of sweet new watches. Thanks for watching!
just picked one up for my 68th Birthday! Great Reveiw!
Thank you! Congratulations and happy birthday! You picked a great one!
WOW! It's been a while since I enjoyed such a review. Please, keep em coming!
Thank you kindly. Not sure why I didn't respond earlier. Must have slipped through the cracks. Currently writing scripts for dptp season 2, stay tuned!
One of the best reviews of this watch. Good job!
Jon Bello Thanks for watching. I agree :) lol
Probably the best video on this watch I have seen, well done!
Thank you!
You my man are a watch nerd in the truest sense. Lovely explanation regarding what a proper diver is. Impressed bro 👍
Lol thanks for the comment. Yeah you're right what can I say. It's a great watch and I'm happy you watched my video
I appreciate the Thoroughness of your Reveiw!
Thanks!
Love your videos. Keep them coming!
motlay Thank you. Tons more coming.
Loved the video! Keep them coming!
Jared Wagner Thank you! I will I swear.
I was going to buy a save the ocean version of this, bust realized that this look is too classic and iconic to resist. The blue looks beautiful, but less versatile and I find I usually don't keep watches that have vibrant colors for some reason. Clean, simple, black and white dials stay in my collection.
Agreed. The save the ocean version is definitely cool but less of an every day watch. I keep the watches I wear, and I would probably wear the black dial more.
Great review, you have a lot of potential to become a huge channel, hope to see some new videos soon.
Great review of a modern classic! Love the Turtle, own two of them could not knock them.
mike o connor Great watch. Thanks for watching!
Amazing vid dude! Had me cracking up hahaha also just bought a turtle you bastard
Ratfish09 Awesome! Gonna have some fun with this channel for sure.
Funny and informative clip, thank you. Got a turtle coming my way!
Thank you that's the goal! Hell yeah let me know what you think. Hell of a watch
Cool video. Keep up the good work and your channel will become popular in no time.
Night Swimming Thank you kindly. If this UA-cam thing doesn't work, it's back to the coal mine.
Rapid fire and hitting all points. Well done.
Thanks bro
hahahaha I totally said to myself when I saw the calipers... "finally, the only reason why I watch" and then you said it. Priceless.
Jared Campbell Ha I knew it! Thanks for watching.
Great content. Plenty of information. Subscribed 👍🏼👍🏼❤️
Timepiece Perfection Thank you! You are an asset to the watch community. Sub'd to yours as well.
I enjoyed your reviev thank you .
Not too much Personal thoughts,
a bundle of facts about the watch.
If somebody looking for a Real diver under 500 euros, never miss the seiko.
Thank you kindly for your comment. How long have you had yours?
I bet Ive watched 1000 watch reviews since covid…you are really good at this and I wish you kept going!
Thanks! I'll make a new vid at a thousand subs lol. Appreciate the kind words
@@DimePieceTimepiece okay, subbed and did my part
LmFaO the Chernobyl victim killed me 😂😂 I had to rewind to hear you say it again.
Lol thanks bro glad you liked the vid. How are you liking the watch?
@@DimePieceTimepiece loving it. Seems pretty accurate so far. Purchased it in friday been wearing since then. 👍
Got lucky with mine chapter ring is aligned
@@MRD0889Awesome. Got yourself a hell of a watch and a true classic. The color variants are all sweet, but there are so many that they've somehow made the original somewhat under the radar. Thanks for checking out my channel. Eventually there will be new content when I'm not working 70+/wk
A good review ,clear and concise and factually correct. Don't agree about the hands though,to me it looks like the hour hand is the bottom section of the minute hand spun around.subscribed.
MrAdjaize That's a great observation. I can see the similarity now that you mention it. Thanks for watching. - DPTP
Good point
Just picked up the J version. Lovely watch.
Awesome. On a strap or bracelet? How do you like it?
Due to the new updates on the ISO ratings, my SRPE93 (updated model of SRP777) has a small marker at the 3 o clock. I don't mind that but what pissed me off when I bought it I noticed the day date window is no longer beveled. It's just a boring cutout now. Still a great looking tool watch but I wished they kept beveled window. It's probably too close to the marker so that's why they couldn't make it.
Great Intel. Thanks for the comment and watching my video.
Wow I quite admire your commentary / review!
Thanks bro I coulda been the greatest watch UA-camr ever. Nah lol but a sincere thank you for the comment
@@DimePieceTimepiece I'm sure are only getting started! You will get there mate 👍
Great channel, you're on your way to a 100k subscribers! Now, where on Earth can I find one for $200?...LoL
Sam Shalati Lol. I got mine off the watchuseek forums. Paid 220 for one that came with an SKX007 Strapcode that I flipped for 55.
Great video
Thanks bro
Dude!!! Awesome review. I sub'd.
Shipmate Good to have you on board. Stay tuned new vid soon.
Good Videos kep making them
Wow great review. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Scott for the comment and kind words. Big big fan of this watch. Do you have one?
Dime Piece Timepiece
I do. I love this watch. I’ve got the SRP777 on the black Seiko rubber strap it comes with. Thinking about swapping the strap for an Isofrane strap or a tropic strap.
@@redbarchetta4 Nice. That's my pick of the bunch as well. Nothing better than monochromatic tool watches. Both of those are cool strap options. I've always been a bit partial to the waffle strap myself. Let me know what you decide on.
Dime Piece Timepiece
Oh I’ve been looking at the Uncle Seiko Waffle straps and they look awesome. Really sharp. So you’ve enjoyed your waffle straps? I might look at getting one too.
@@redbarchetta4 I have yet to try any aftermarket rubbers. Isofranes, tropics, and waffles are all cool and eccentric classics, each reaching peak popularity during the golden age of diving. To me, the waffle seems slightly more wearable on a daily basis is all. Can't go wrong with either.
Oi, DPTP, when's the new video? You're the man, love your stuff
Javid Bunyadzade Thank you for the kind words. I have some cool stuff in the works as we speak. What do you want to see next?
Dime Piece Timepiece your videos on Bulovas were refreshing, fascinating and eye opening for me as a beginner watch enthusiast, in a sea of channels singing praise to Seikos, Omegas and other more prominent brands. I feel like you're a knowledgeable guy and I'd be thrilled if you shared more of your knowledge of lesser known areas of watch history.
Javid Bunyadzade I fear that I'm peddling rampant consumerism to my viewers, which is not at all what watches are all about. At the end of the day, it's all about wearing a watch you like. Find a good one and wear the hell out of it. Your comment has inspired me today. Thank you.
I am all for Authenticity!
You know what, 2 years later Seiko no longer using their chapter ring design on their new divers.
I've seen it! I feel like it speaks to better proportions all the way around. Thanks for watching!
I have an SKX 009 in for service, very tempted by one of these. Exactly, what is going on in Switzerland ?
Great watch. Thanks for checking out my channel. How do you like your skx?
@@DimePieceTimepiece G/day Dime Piece,my skx is my beater watch.Surfing,m/cycling,misused & abused it cops a flogging. But I`m lusting after a Turtle,lol.
Nice review
now I'm having a hard time deciding between SRP777 Or SRPC91 Save The Ocean. Any anyone have both ?
Thank you. If you don't have a black diver, go for the 777. If you have a black diver you love, get the save the ocean. That's my advice fwiw
The only reason I was thinking of going with the STO SRPC91 in rubber band because its $277 right now and the SRP777 in rubber band is $399 right now. sold all my black diver watches but the only one that catches my attention all the time is srp777 and skx007 and rolex submarinener.
@@richardbosh4522 Great points. If it's a wash, why not get the save the ocean (/save the budget)? The savings start you halfway to an skx as well. A black skx and a save the ocean turtle would make a pretty sweet dive watch collection. Then you can save for the sub. You really wouldn't need anything in between either. Good luck either way.
If EVERY watch is tested for ISO certification, does that mean that ANY modification done to the case loses that certification? Thanks.
I'm not sure if it's a running certification, more like certified once at creation. That said, modifications likely ruin any warranty claims for leaks, so be careful. It's always a good idea to get pressure testing performed after every time the caseback opens up. For that reason (among others), it's usually never a good idea to take off the caseback for any reason other than a service! Thanks for watching sean!
I am now a proud owner of the SRP777J1. Keeping it forever!
Awesome. Thank you!
Do you still enjoy wearing your nice 777J?
I've seen this watch cheaper on eBay than in a Seiko store. Should I buy it on eBay or buy it in a official store?
Hi! Thanks for watching. Ebay will definitely have better deals than a seiko boutique. It's never a terrible idea to buy from a reputable authorized dealer or seiko boutique. You'd be able to see it/try it on before you buy, and you'd get a warranty. With ebay, there's always a small risk. It's up to you to weigh the pros/cons. If it's your first mechanical watch, you may want the security that comes with purchasing in store. I've had great ebay experiences and bad ebay experiences and everything in between. Thanks again for checking out my vid!

If you really want the jdm models shopping in Japan sells a lot of seikos and citizens and some others. Yes you’re going to pay the premium for it, got my deep blue turtle from them and I can’t stop wearing it lol
Momma didn't raise a Damm Fool showing off his Rolex underwater. This Seiko does the job it's made for.
Great video bro. Did you end up keeping it?
Thanks a lot man I appreciate it. I kept it throughout the summer, but I've since pared down my collection. That said, I'd get one again in a heartbeat haha. Did you pick one up? How are you liking yours?
I wish I can still get this for $200 😭
I know right. Used to be you could scoop a used one for less than. Thanks for watching.
80s puffy stickers: ✅
Used for $165... that’s what I’m talking about. I’m waiting for the compilation video of all calipers( just calipers pics)...
jopalo31675 Haha thanks for watching. The calipers are the true star of the show.
I dive with the turtle. Not everyone needs a dive computer.
Very cool. Does it work well as an actual dive tool? Interested in your perspective. Thank you
@@DimePieceTimepiece Thanks for asking mate. I learned to dive back in the 80s, with tables and watches and never really felt the need for a computer. These days most of my dives are short and quite shallow (often performing maintenance on my yacht or retrieving something dropped on the bottom). The turtle is great for those sorts of dives. It performed great for 5 years with no problems. Then last year I was retrieving an anchor off the bottom in 10m of water, and the turtle came up a bit foggy. I sent it off for a service and its come back as good as new, but that was a bit disappointing. Ultimately it was my fault for not getting it serviced sooner. They recommend 3 yearly for actual underwater use and I pushed that too far. If I was to start doing longer, deeper or multiple dives again I would probably get a computer, but would still want a good dive watch as backup.
@@jamesonjabiru Thank you very much for your response
What happened? Need more of your vids
Haha thanks man. Just been super busy, and I have a high standard of quality for the channel. Don't want to put out filler. That said, bunch of sweet watches in since. Stay tuned there is more coming I promise
Actually looks perfect on your wrist mate
Thanks I do miss it. Just a really cool watch at the end of the day. No bs
@@DimePieceTimepiece oh no don't tell me you let it go 😵
I have a wrist size just shy of 7 inch and I am waiting for the lockdown to end to pick one up...for you to let this one go, which one did you think was more suitable for you to replace the turtle ?
When more videos 🥺
Next vid is an SOTC. Thanks for your patience
80s babies, yep, puffy stickers!
RACINGMIX lol exactly. Thanks for watching.
It cost in Sweden $800
Yo why did you quit you had awesome content
Thanks man. I haven't quit. Just busier than I was. I have new watches. Stay tuned I swear. Appreciate your kind words.
@@DimePieceTimepiece Nice! Looking forward to it! Just ordered my own red alpinist after watching your review awhile back :)
"It's like you plucked this thing of the wrist of a Chernobyl victim......" Dude!😂😂🤣
But wait, shouldn't it be Fukushima?🤔
Davitamon It's about taste, my friend. Thanks for watching!
It's was funny as hell dude! I love that kind of humor.
Lex Steel LMFAO!!!!!
Lol thanks man I've been waiting for this comment. Thank you for watching and subscribing because more stuff is coming
But swim with a watch is the last thing we need ...what is so cool about the watch ?
Lol thanks for watching
400$
Yeah bro you waited too long
$165?!
Bro it was a different time back then. Thanks for watching
In Sweden cost $800
You mean under $ 400...nowhere is this watch worth under $ 200...you're wrong...Prices: SRP775: $495; SRP777: $475.....
I got mine for less than $200 usd before making this video 2 years ago. Thanks for playing though I do appreciate your view and comment
Dime Piece Timepiece you made a very good video....
@@PorscheChile thank you kindly. I graduated and had to start real life and don't have time for new vids, but with paychecks come cool watches. Fun stuff and rare stuff that is nowhere to be found on UA-cam. Mark my words I will return
under 200 ? where the fuck do u find this under 200 ?
I have the Pepsi version of this. Unfortunately they're desk divers, if you use them in the real world (not diving with it) they become magnetized and run fast very easily, and they're not terribly robust, I knocked mine against something whilst working on a car and it stopped. Show pony only.
Definitely more prone to damage than a quartz. Thank you for watching
Under 200? What?
When I made this video about a year ago, you could find one on the used market for that price if you looked for the right deal. Thanks for watching!
@@DimePieceTimepiece oh. Used. Yeah, big difference
Chernobyl victim ? Crass description.
This guy sounds too sure of himself or overconfident. Stay humble.
Lol thanks for watching
