- This is a requested tutorial from many of my subscribers, and i'll send it to those of you who've asked for it in the past.
I'd like to thank JediShemL, tehPrincessJ and Merules1 for their help and brilliant videos showing these mods and for their assistance. It means a lot guys =D
I hope this makes sense. It did have a voice with it but it hasn't recorded it for some reason so I will add annotations and include a link to the KOTOR Files section of Filefront.
Music is from the KOTOR 2 Soundtrack and is used thanks to Mikeyzxc2!

Trayusstudent1 Hey bro, I watched this video when I was a lot younger than I am today and I want to thank you, you helped me when I first got on filefront thanks bro
no problem, thanks for your feedback :)
Trayusstudent1 I thought you would never respond but thanks :p :)
@padawon291 it doesn't matter if you have an override folder to run the game, you just need one if you plan to use mods.
With some mods you do, but some mod creators essentially prepare the file so you can literally drop it from your desktop into your game.
@BenatWar97 KSE is awesome. I might do an updated tutorial soon using the KSE.
Thank you, always great to hear that. Glad I can be of help =D
@Musicboy315 You need to download a couple of patches from Filefront and from the LucasArts website. Once they're installed, you should be able to play it.
Couldn't have made it without the cool music!
@TheSarcasticChicken2 Thank you. Comments like this make it worthwhile.
the restored content mod has its own installation and doesn't require you to do anything else smaller mods do
@robuk639 Ok, checking your earlier comment, if its an exe. file you should just be able to click it and it runs from there throught the TSL Patcher. This mod was created for use with the TSL patcher though, so you need that if you haven't got it.
Very helpful. Music was awesome; I've never actually listened to the entire Sith Lords theme.
@Nemesisprime2010 either will work. I used 7Zip, but they do both work.
@Trayusstudent1 Well...i tried it but i think i did something wrong. i extracted it to the over ride file but when i went to test it out on a saved game, all i got for my troubles was a blank grenade. do i need other programs for the mod to work?
Yep, its all free guys. I've downloaded lots of mods from filefront before.
And remember, you will, indeed, need something to convert the RAR and 7Z files into a ZIP file.
@pokercards101 You need 7Zip or Winrar... I use 7Zip but they both do the same thing.
@Trayusstudent1 Ok thanks, well I'm sure you have heard of Darth Stoney's restoration mod and there are so many files I'm not sure what to do. There are loads of different types of files too like MPEG,NCS,DLG,LIP,MDL,MDX,VIS,2DA,UTI,JRL,TGA,UTE,UTC,UTW,WAV. Now I don't know whether all these files would go in that overide folder or would they need to be put in proper places. Also the readme only explains whats in the mod and not how to install it.
I'm pretty sure Sound mods go into the override folder? Its been ages since i've modded, you should check the readme file
@5DHH Are you sure its the KOTOR2 Directory in the Program Files folder? If you're trying to put mods in the disc's override folder it won't work. I'll send you a link ASAP
I don't have an override folder in kotor 2. Do I need to make one to download revenge of revan? How do I install revenge of revan for when it says I dont have the stuff for it
Not true, some of the earlier KOTOR's came without an override folder. Mine didn't but when it broke and I got the BOPC version it did, hope you enjoyed the video!
how do I install kotor 3 revenge of revan mod? I installed kotor 2 game and I don't have the override folder. Do you need to create a new override folder in order to play the mod?
i need help on installing this. i already have the game installed, but when i run it it says it has stopped working. this is annoying you know. if only it was easy to install just like the first one.
@Trayusstudent1 where can i download the TSL patcher you mentioned? :)
@thegeorge1111 Well, since this video has been made, Filefront's gone weird and some stuff can't be downloaded now soooo I'm not sure what to tell you unless you go check out Deadly Stream? They've got a lot of the important stuff over there these days like the TSLRCM, and soon M4-78 :D
can someone help me out? i am trying to get a mod for this game and i have gotten modes for the first game but my KOTOR 2 doesn't have an override folder... any help would be amazing
The was some program I used to have that let you modify levels, powers, items (even modded ones)... everything. But I can't remember what it was called anymore. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
@awesome0578 go to Filefront and download M4-78, make sure its the latest version and you don't have TSLRCM installed
@kotor2ownerofall KOTOR 1 does if you install it in compatibility mode for XP SP2, not sure about KOTOR 2 as I haven't checked.
why dont i see the overide file in my thingy-mi-jigger? i have Kotor Save Editor, is that the problem?
Oh God Evony that takes me back man. Hah those ads...
What do i do i cant install the mods because i cant open them with the archive
this might be a dumb question but can anyone help me with the TSL patcher because every time I try to install a mod with it I don't no where to install the files can someone please help me
i dont have the overide map, what should i do?
You don't need codes. Firstly do you have any mods which could conflict with the Jedi Temple? Thats usually the main problem.
Hey man how do you download Darth Stoney's restoration mod? It won't even let me open the file. It's an exe file.
There's a tutorial up on UA-cam, its very easy to use, you just have to be careful what you're doing so your game isn't corrupted.
it says it has an error opening it when i try to copy or extract it! why?!:"can not open output file filename(not the name of file) Any help?
how do you do this with Steam? i looked everywhere i don't have a LucasArts folder
Yeah this video has 6 of the pieces of music from KOTOR 2, The Sith Lords, M4-78 Cores, Nar Shaddaa, Kreia's Theme, The Royal Palace and Sion's Theme
Thanks for your comment =D
howd you get the tsl patcher on your desktop??
Do you mean the TSL patcher?
Thats available from Filefront.
@Yankeefan918 I'm not sure if there's any difference with Windows 7 or not. I use Vista and I know it has compatibility problems even with that, it may be a comp. prob :S
hey man, I downloaded this game (a free torrent) and it says theres not enough room in the override folder.any advice? thankss
I know this is probably a longshot at anyone reading this, but can someone help me please? at 5:21 he mentions extracting rar files with 7zip but i dont know how to do that. help please?
I dont have an Override folder can you help?
it says it has an error opening it when i try to copy or extract it! why?!
filefront is closed now, gamefront is your new destination for kotor I&II mod
I've got WinRAR. does that work also or should i uninstall it and get 7zip?
are there any controller mods for this game or even kotor 1? PLS RELPYYY
For some reason i dont have an override folder....
@Trayusstudent1 im 11 idk how to create a new folder! please tell me how!
why dont i see the overide file in my thingy-mi-jigger?
look around on YT, there are tons of tutorials on how to do that :)
can u send me a pm on how to do this step by step... im receiving error and stuff... btw im using windows 7
it says cant copy and past in this folder
i cant find the overide folder
how do i install sound mods?
It says i couldnt be downloaded any reason why?
were do i get windows 7 zip???
Does this work with a steam copy
@MW2DUDE98 Ok, it should be there unless you've got one of the earlier games where there was no folder? Ok, go to wherever you've installed KOTOR 2, then Program Files, then LucasArts, then the KOTOR 2 folder and if there's no override, just make one and call it Override. Hope this helps!
does this wrk 4 kotor1?
well i don't know about KOTOR 2 but for KOTOR 1 it meant you ether got the code wrong or that cheat doesn't exist
Watching this in 2021!
What if once you download it, it says "can't open cause windows must knw who created it" ? I got past it once but i forget how.
Which 7zip file is for mac??
Yup 7Zip or Winrar. I personally use 7Zip
doea this game work for windows 7?
Ok first things first, what's supposed to happen when you type giveitem sion_1? And secondly do you have the KOTOR Savegame Editor cos that works loads better than cheats.
What do you mean by Controller Mods?
which mods have you downloaded?
Can someone explain what it means when it says " You must provide the administrator with permission to copy this file" and what I can do to stop that from popping up, I'm running a Windows 8.1
wtf i put in mods and idk how they are activated or something
it says like files not read or somethi
Oh thats strange? Have you tried using Administrator permission?
do you really need all this? i just clicked download and next time i played my game it was already in the game running perfectly. but that was the high quality restored content mod, so idk how well a random mod would install.
thanks for 480p nad 10fps
Thanks for the tutorial, but why do you use Internet Explorer, an experienced mod downloader like yourself should be sensible enough to use Chrome or Firefox at least.
Bedomp What're you? A traveling salesman? "I see you have a Verox Speeder 4000... But a real Speeder Rider uses the 4001 Speeder!"
madcow BRO Travelling Salesmen? No good sir, just spreading the good word of Chrome. The supreme browser.
you go to you steam and then steamapps then common then kotor 2
I'm running mine on Vista, you've made sure you're saving the file you're downloading and not opening it?
Knight Save Game Editor?(KSE_332)
Can you make a video for KoTOR2 Restored content? Or is it the same process? Sorry, i am more of a console gamer and i have never modded anything before.
just download KSE and you can change your appearence to revan
@CrimsonBlade231 Not 100% sorry, I don't use Steam, I presume instead of LucasArts you'd use the Steam File. I know you can mod the game if its the steam version, sorry I can't be more help.
@MyCanttouchthis You basically need either 7Zip or WinRar to extract files, either one will do, I use 7Zip for mine. Any help I can give in the future I will =)
This just doesn't work for me...
My damn Patcher is busted. I really wish i could manually install the hk factory.
how do i install revenge of revan
can some one tell me why my computer say cant find page
could u possibly update this or something cuz i just downloaded the sith lords restored cut mod and am having a bitch of a time installing it.
Also does this work on Steam?
mine is read only and i cant change it lol grrr
Whats your problem? Maybe I can help =)
I give up. Catch me on console, my dudes.
@SaintsRow2OwnsGTA4 Ok, first make sure you're not extracting to the KOTOR 2 disc's override, but the actual Override folder where the data is located i.e. C:\ etc.
Not sure about the password bit, i've never had a mod what needs a password :S
@MyCanttouchthis Sorry, can't help you. TSL Patcher is needed though, once you download it just run the .exe file and it'll install.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeease show a vid of this
Make one
