Same buddy. It really sets in exactly how far Walt's dream went. Was all of it for the good? Of course not. In fact, a good portion of their financial, marketing, and lawsuit decisions were either a cheap way to get more money, or a desire to own more stuff. But there have been some gems throughout the years. I will not go into which ones because I know a lot of people get very picky, but my point is this:
No matter what this corporation has done, as long as it still has that creative spark, it's still Disney. That is what made Disney such a magical experience. Disney as a whole teaches both kids and adults that it's ok to have big dreams and imaginations, because really, anything worth in life, starts with a dream.

I cried throughout this as well. When he saw Walt I lost it. And then when I heard the Classic "When you Wish upon a Star" I couldn't hold it back anymore. This was pure perfection, Happy 100 Disney I can't wait to see what the future holds.
The moment that genuinely made me emotional was hearing Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh (my favorite Disney character) take part in the 543 Walt Disney Animation Studios characters who sing “When You Wish Upon A Star.”
I watched this short yesterday on ABC and seeing all 500+ of our favorite Disney characters from the films shorts and live-action hybrids (e.g. Marry Poppins, Pete’s Dragon, etc.) at Walt Disney Animation Studios that we grew up with, really brought me in tears and a good celebration of 100 years of Disney.
Literally we haven’t had a Disney crossover like this since the _Kingdom Hearts_ series and especially _House of Mouse._ Basically, this short is literally the Smash Bros. Ultimate ("Everyone is Here") of Disney crossovers.
Lastly, the late Robin Williams dialogue as the Genie was not AI generated but unused outtake audio that was utilized and was used with permission from Robin’s family and the estate.
Seeing peter pan and hearing bobby Driscoll and you can fly again made me tear up. Coming together for when you wish upon a star nearly killed me.
After watching this, Disney needs to bring back Disney’s House of Mouse!

I loved this short seeing all the characters together was very touching I almost cried I liked how Disney mixed the 2D characters blend in... whit the new ones.... They even brought in some of the actors from their original voices Although I would have really liked this to have been a movie something more or less like House of Mouse but it was still very nice so this legendary crosover Thank to Walt" for creating this legacy of pure magic through the years! 😭😍

This short was everything 🙌 seeing almost every familiar face from my disney vhs childhood like peter pan, Dodger, Thumper, the Chesire Cat, and my recent favs like Raya, Ralph, Mirabel, Rapunzel... so wholesome and magical.
Best moments for me was Moana helping Flounder, the moment with Walt, "coast is clear, Mick", seeing the harp from Fun and Fancy Free (the last time walt voiced mickey) and the characters singing the iconic song with the archived audio of Cliff Edward's Jiminy Cricket
Looking forward to seeing it again on the big screen behind WISH
I saw this at Disneyland yesterday, on the 100th anniversary. It hit all the right notes of humor and heart and was very, very touching. I love it.
While the moment with Walt did tug deeply at my heartstrings, again like you said it was expected. What really got me was when all the characters started singing When You Wish Upon a Star. Seeing my all time faves like Belle and Beast, and Quasimodo all come together, hearing the voices of my childhood, it really, really got to me. I watched it with my one year old niece who was babbling happily completely unaware that I was a sobbing wreck haha. Happy Centenary Disney.

I watched the short twice and this is my third time seeing it again. The moment I saw Bolt and Mickey looking at Walt I was emotional, because Bolt was my first time seeing a Disney movie in theatres and Walt is one of my influencers I remember when it comes to my drawings. Honestly this feels like a better version of the show Mickeys House of Mouse back in the early 2000s. Seeing all those characters made me wish it was real so bad.
This short film was a great way to celebrate 100 years of Disney. I loved that archive audio for characters such as Genie was used.❤✨💯
They asked Robin Williams' estate for permission to use it. The dialog may have been in the archives, but using it is a different story. Genie is one of Robin's most recognized characters, and his voice was one of a kind.

I didn't get the chance to see in on TV but I did get to see on Disney + the next day and it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing all of these characters together and the interactions they have like Moana and Flounder, Elsa freezing Hans like Han Solo and especially the moment of Mickey talking to the picture of Walt with Feed the Birds playing the background. The ending with the characters singing When You Wish Upon a Star just gave me the feels.
It’s a heartwarming feeling seeing and hearing Disney heroes and villains we’ve come to know growing up putting aside their differences for this 100th anniversary celebration! Walt would’ve loved it! 🥲
No doubt about it. But as a french, I had a disappointment because in the french version, they didn't use recordings of the voice of Roger Carel, a guy who voiced a lot of Disney characters (often three in on movie) of my childhood, and passed away three years ago
They finally have the Zootopia characters played by the same actors! I’m so excited! I can hardly wait for the sequel to come! I’m so glad that they added Nick and Judy in Once Upon A Studio! My favourite part is when Nick and Judy got out of the picture frame!! I love Zootopia and I mostly adore Nick and Judy. Both of the characters are my heart and they are my favourite Disney characters in the universe! I love them as a Huge Zootopia Fan!!!!
I love that they got Jeremy Irons back to voice Scar in this. He hasn’t voiced him since the original Lion King so it was amazing to hear him again.

Disney really hit it out of the ballpark, if not out of orbit, with this short. The scene with Mickey talking to Walt was perfect. Mickey said everything in just 8 words. And the "When You Wish Upon a Star" part killed me. I'm glad they threw in Beast in his beast form, he's my favorite Disney character ever.

Yeah, I started tearing up at the very beginning. I was born in 1959, so my Disney reflected the positive evolution of mankind. Just seeing the expanse of generations as the elderly man walked out the door with the young girl from this generation reminded me of all the years of Disney content I watched as a young child in the '60s. Sunday night was Walt Disney night for me as a child, along with Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. We used to watch Prime Time TV back when it was a big deal to have a color television in your home and Sunday night was educational; for learning about the world we live in.
I love how over the years, Disney's creations wove all different experiences into the lives of children, so they were able to identify with the characters. We fought for social justice and women's rights when I was growing up, and Disney reflected those advances throughout the years. I am grateful to have been born and lived through the good part of history, even though my first decade of life was marred by four major assassinations. It brought us to the understanding that everyone has something to offer...until 2016. Then everything went straight down the toilet. SMH. Mickey looking at the picture of Walt Disney really brought home to me everything we have to lose through complacency.
They say that it was all started by a mouse, but the thing is, all of Disney was started by Walt.

When you talked about the voice actors who passed away, it made me think to Roger Carel, a guy who was, all alone, the french voice actor of a lot of Disney characters (he started with Mickey) and often three in one movie (he was Winnie, Coco Rabbit and Piglet).
Unfortunately, he passed away three years ago and I didn't recognize his voice in the french version of this short, for any of the characters he voiced before.
Watched this short a little while ago, and I loved it. Reminds me of 'House of Mouse' back in the day. I miss that show!
Got emotional to see all those characters again; makes me wanna watch these movies (and tv shows) again.

Ok, I don't feel so weird now, getting so emotional when I watched this. I definitely teared up when they showed Walt and Mickey and when they were all singing at the end.
This special is a true work of art what a absolute masterpiece .
Fun fact: the man the woman was talking to in the beginning is played by Bernie Mattinson who is the longest serving employee of the company who worked there from 1953 until he died in earlier this year.

I think Disney needs a version of there very own Who Framed Roger Rabbit but with all the disney characters. This 12min short is riddled with nostalgia for the young and old and has filled up so much different emotions.
Actually it's 8min and 47 seconds. The last 4 minutes is just a international credits.
Man, this short was SO good! I loved how Flash-Dash-Seven-Yard-Dash showed up with Donald in the elevator, then Baymax showed up! I loved how Robin Williams’ voice for Genie. I also loved the heartfelt moment between Mickey looking at the picture of Walt Disney. That moment made me FEEL emotional, I loved how they did that, though. Mickey is my all time FAVORITE Disney character. I didn’t expect to see Bolt, or Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet, THAT was cool!

I cry at seeing Burny Mattinson, in the beginning, the scene with Mickey and Walt, and when Alan A Dale starts playing "When You Wish Upon a Star," although I tear up a bit when I notice old characters, I might've missed, like Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet.

There’s a rumor among people on social media that this short film was originally meant to be 14 minutes long rather than 9 minutes as we’ve got. If that were true, then I’m assuming the extra minutes probably would’ve showcased additional characters that didn’t make the cut.
I also pictured to myself that if they threw in a certain spiky haired kid with a giant key serving as a sort of Disney security guard (a la Night at the Museum) holding a checklist of each character present. Granted, he’s a hybrid creation between Disney and Square Enix, but he has traveled to and traversed their worlds.
Mickey looking at the picture of Walt Disney and taking his hat off in respect and remembrance was such a sad moment.

My wife and I watched this after the second episode of Gen V. A real tonal and emotional shift, but this was perfect. Getting to hear all those classic voices - especially Robin's Genie - one more time was special, and it was great to see them include Ashe from Wish.
The only (minor) disappointment for me was they didn't have Gilbert for Iago. The person they used was spot on, though.
Now THIS is Disney. How can they make a short like this that has humor, nostalgia, and emotion, but then go back to producing absolute GARBAGE the next day…IT JUST DOESN’T MAKE SENSE!😂

My one purely selfish gripe with this short is that Jonathan Freeman should’ve gotten a cameo as Jafar. The man has been voicing him in every single project that features the character since the original Aladdin in 1992. It wouldn’t have killed them to give him a line.

This looks so cool. Disney should make a web or tv series where all the animated Disney characters are interacting with each other at the studio. The girl Disney dogs like Rita, Georgette and Dixie could flirt with some of the guy dogs like Tod, Pongo, Tramp and their mates would not like it. The Disney princesses could hang out with the lions, tigers and bears. Robin Hood and Little John gets into trouble with Nick and Judy. The villains have a villain meeting. All the characters watch Miss Kitty Mouse or Gazelle from Zootopia dance and sing. Or just anything could happen.
Don't think it would be a great idea for Miss Kitty Mouse because she's a different kind of dancer then Gazelle. a should I say "dirter"? dancer

@@a.g.demada5263 when filming Aladdin originally they record hours of different lines. Some never get used. They went into the archives and pulled audio to use.

apart from the ending that made me tear up with nostalgia, as these characters they become a part for you and it's like your whole childhood watching them was leading up to this, but the moment that made me tear up even more so on a re-watch, is when Mickey had that moment with Walt even more so after it was pointed out that the tune was Walt's favorite song "Feed the Birds", it was a really nice moment

One thing you may or may not have noticed is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. He doesn't have a more modern look yet because he was legally reobtained by the Walt Disney Company a few years ago. Oswald was the first character Walt worked on for a different company with Ub Iwerks. That different company basically messed Walt over with the legal ownership. Things could've been different if Oswald was the main figure in Disney animation. It could've been said, It all started with a rabbit. Here's hoping, when things calm down, that Oswald appears in more cartoons and gets an updated look.
