You are using the correct product for the pump rubber seals but I prefer you use spray dry rubber lubricant. This is because over dosing rubber grease easily gather mud, dust and soil and might causes lumps. Clean it up first and use a thin 🖌️ brush to apply thinly will do best. Good luck 👍👍👍👍👍.
Peter you have done good job. Could you please respond on that fraction sound at the end of video when you are turning rotor assembly or wheel by hand. Thanks
Hey Peter very informative video again. My brake pedal on my 2000 Toyota corolla feels a bit stiff on slow speeds, however at high speeds it seems to hold better. On slow speeds I need to mash the pedal with a bit more force. What do you think can be the cause. I have checked my brake shoes and pads and they are all fine and properly adjusted, the air was bled from the system and fluid flushed. The booster seems to be okay as it sinks upon start up. Any ideas?
Thanks Peter, I have been thinking about doing lub of my brakes on 2001 Toyota Corolla, brakes are working well except I am getting some kind of a throbbing sound intermittent sound coming from driver side front in heavy braking conditions such as down hill throb becomes quite heavy a little irritating. This video is helpful to see prior to taking apart. Something I have been meaning to ask Peter and off the brake subject. Are you aware of the inherent problem with the 1998 to 2002 1.8 Liter engines becoming oil guzzlers. The problem is a design problem of Toyota's that Toyota never owned up to. Toyota is aware of the mistake and redesigned the pistons and rings adding four more oil pass through hole to the existing four holes. What happens is carbon builds up in the rings making the piston and rings nearly one piece and going through tons of oil. Mine is using about 1 liter every 300 kms. The engine runs fine and hardly smokes at all. I have been reading up on this but have yet to find a product that works on mine. There are all kinds of suggestion using products putting in engine through spark plug holes and soaking to dissolve the collected carbon, I have heard products used such as seafoam, zmax, bitron. The better the carbon disolve product the better the results I guess. I have heard people piston soaking the vehical from over night to over a week adding more solution daily. If you could aquire one of these engines and do video there would be lots of interest. About 10% of the vehicals are affected by this condition. Thanks, Skip
Hello my friend Skip. This oil issue in Toyota engine is known to me. My understanding is, that error is in piston rings. So, we must to change pistons rings, when motor start to consume too much oil.
Hey Peter! Just realised my 2004 Corolla were not going smoothly and there were strong aleatory vibrations between 80-140 km/h. I went to the garage and they realised the problem was with the two front disks, because they were deformed, so they replaced them, with the pads too and now it goes very well. There were not working the right front braking cable and they decided to replace it too. I did a bit of research and Road House advise to change these cables at around 50.000 km and ALWAYS the two of them, in order to avoid unbalanced motion. Other car parts seller as Oscaro says they should be replaced just when they're worn out. What do you think about this? I don't actually know if they lubricated the brake system... I don't think so. Do you think this lubrication is necessary or is something complementary for avoiding noises? P.S. I love your passion for cars and specifically for Corollas. You do High Quality content :)
After watching this I am not so sure lubrication fixed his problem..why you ask? he's still having to use both hands and you hear the metal scraping..granted this vehicle has seen better days, but he's claiming victory? hardly
Your english pronunciation is excellent very very special you are the only person i heard such english pronunciation from
There is no anymore passionate guys that work like you. Great video
Thank you Peter.... always good to see your videos.... very helpful..... keep them coming....

Great point!
Thank You, You are welcome! I appreciate your feedback.
Wonderful videos, Peter!
+Miguel Araquel Thank You. :-)
Can we use silicon grease for the brakes calipers pins and copper grease for metallic parts ?
Yes
is it a too many problems with corollas breaks?
No. Corolla is Great
Peter you have done good job.
Could you please respond on that fraction sound at the end of video when you are turning rotor assembly or wheel by hand.
Thanks
Hi, it is normal old brake pad sound
Peter Finn ok, thank you bro.
This is brake disc has a little contact with disc metal cover...or like Peter said a bit friction with pads

Hi, your brake parts need lubrication.

Hi, lubrication is good for brakes. Happy to help 👍😀
Hi peter can you make a video on rear control arm bushings replace meant on Toyota Avensis or Corolla
+thestephen8 Sure, I take this my to do list.
The back plate is touching the disc ?
Thanks for comment 👍
Peter when compressing the I always open the bleeder makes it easier
Thank You for comment. :-)
There is a special tools for caliper by doing these job as a mechanic you should have it,.
Thanks 👍
Nice video
Thanks my Friend. :-)
