I so appreciate your attention to accessibility. I’m legally blind and encounter a lot of issues seeing texts and details. Show notes and Ravelry pages are soooo helpful. Thank you! I feel pretty excluded from a lot of the world, but am heartened when I encounter creators and crafters who pay special attention to such issues. We all are part of the knitting community and love inclusion.💗💗💗💗💗

That was a lovely podcast. Wow, those autumn colours and the nature pics where so beautiful. I love your whole set up. Just an enjoyable mix of all the things we cherrish. I am currently rereading The Chronicles Of Narnia, as well as Dr. Jane Goodall's book: The Book Of Hope - A survival guide for trying times.
Huggs and blessings from the Land of pretzels, Schurwald Forest, Germany. 🌲🌲🌲💖💖💖

Stephanie - I love your podcasts! Your excitement, enthusiasm and motivation are "top drawer!" Thanks for being YOU, even if it means that you wave your hands while talking. 😁
Your finished projects and wips are all so very gorgeous too. 🧶🧶

Great episode. I love your color choices for the Stratified, its a beautiful sweater.
That Henley style sweater is so good. I can't wait to knit one.
I also love a happy ending.

Ha, I am working on a pair of shorty socks while watching. I love to see your socks and the yarns you use (I love the Patons Kroy). Good luck with sitting on your hands!!! In the classroom, I used to gesture (sometimes rather wildly... as if playing Charades!) and students often commented on how it seemed impossible for me to talk without using my hands-arms. I, too, make a pattern multiple times. Or plan to once I have finished the first and like the results. I am on my 8th Musselburgh for example (this one at the request of my sister). Anyway, as always, an interesting and inspiring episode. I agreed with your remarks about time and test knitting, the issue of fairness to the test knitters. Truly, you inspire me to try new things, work on different projects and ... darn you... buy more patterns. Love how much you share about your makes. Thank you!

What a wonderful hour of knitting with you! Your new Ranunculus looks amazing, can’t wait to see what you think about the new yarn you are knitting it with! I’m not on the Ranunculus train yet, but this yarn, if you like it, might just get me to buy a ticket! Thanks for a lovely podcast, as always❤

I also need a happy ending, I enjoy listening to the audiobooks while I knit and some many times I am so into the groove that I knit past the length I needed 🙄.
I recently finished "Yellow face" and "Small Great Things", they are both very different approaches to racism and how we deal with it. I think we all need to be more kind and hopefully we will spread it like a good virus😸 Thanks for another lovely episode, I am already envious of that Yonder yarn...I think I need to snatch some

Hi Stephanie! I just made the pretzels for my family & they were amazing! Thank you for sharing the recipe again & especially for mentioning that they were easy. I never knew pretzels were so easy. I’ll definitely be making them again & again! As always, I love catching up with you and seeing all the wonderful things you’re making. ❣~Amy

Good morning! It's 5:00 a.m. I'm sipping a frothy cup of coffee, working on my Classic Ribbed Hat in Rowan Pure Cashmere and watching your podcast. Great way to start the day. You made me smile and giggle many times with your cheery, funny
personality😊. You also made me want to cast on another (would be my 5th) Ranunculus! I also made the Stratified. I think it's one of the prettiest things I've ever knit. I love your color choices and the way you have it layered...lovely!

Good morning! Thank you for starting you day with me! The Stratified is so fun isn't it?? And wearable! I love how we can create different colors stories and really personalize our handknits. Take care ❤️

Beautiful footage of Fall Colours. I was struck by how similar some of the geographical area looked to where I live on the Niagara Escarpment in Ontario near the Saugeen Peninsula. We have had quite a heavy snowfall, true to the dates for the past 5 or 6 years. I really love your slipover - the one you are wearing. The colours seemed to glow! I am listening to Barbara Kingsolver's Demon Copperhead these days though I truly love Fantasy. But either way, books are a good way to give ourselves some peace of mind wit all this chaos going on around us. Thank you Stephanie. I really love your vlogs.

Thank you so much! I'm currently reading Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi and it's SO GOOD (a YA fantasy novel inspired by Nigerian mythology). It's book 1 of the Legacy of Orïsha trilogy. Fast-paced, a little intense and the writing is beautiful. I'm invested.

Ohh thanks for talking about the front short rows on the Ranunculus. I didn't know it gave it more of the boat line and wanted more of the crew line. Yay! Have a great week! - Kimberly

I loved the six of crows duology. Better than Bardugos other books in the grishaverse. I also liked Ninth House, although I didn’t love the second booke in that series

I worked on a swatch for my latest test knit as I watched this video. I'm with you in taking a little step back from the volume of test knitting I have been doing! But there are certain designs or designers that always feel worth carving out time.
I also had a giggle when you mentioned having so many 16" circular needles because of knitting hats - I just had to order several sizes of 16" needles so that I CAN knit hats!

    • @EdibleThoughtsMakes
      @EdibleThoughtsMakes  11 місяців тому

Hi Gillian!! I know I know - SO MANY beautiful designs. Hah! 16" circulars are so good! I love them. I also use them for sweater neckbands because it's just like starting a hat with ribbing lol. Take care friend❤️

Thank you so much Stacy!! Autumn is such a rich season for colors in stark contrast to wintry whites and grays and icy blues. Both beautiful in their own way. Look forward to seeing your Stratified color combo!!

Ahh, plop me in the middle of a forest/woods…w my knitting (of course!!), & I’d be in my Happiest Place! So beautiful!
Love the striped test knit, I’ll look for that on Ravelry!!
I got a sweater quantity of 50/50 Wool/Alpaca, Yarn Citizen Harmony from Jimmy Beans Wool, med brown, taupe -ish color (very neutral!). New to them, their own brand. Economically priced, I think. Gloam cardigan, Caitlin Hunter is the “plan” because of textured knit/purl pattern.
But… as I always do, questioning my pattern choice.
Especially since you are making Ranunculus w your similarly colored yarn… sigh. (4 !!??… I need to make just ONE…lol)
Maybe I need a “sit-down” w my Favorites/Queue on Ravelry. That might narrow my wish list to….about, oh, ten (-ish)…
    Knitting is hard (decisive) work!!
Thank you for another inspiring episode!
PS: starting my Percy Jackson stories very soon! My October Spooky reads is over, time for fun, easy & light reading.

I'm often sifting through my Ravelry library and queue and "rearranging" and figuring out what yarns go with which patterns! So many beautiful options.

Thanks for the Book recommendation! I like a good murder mystery generally, newer novels seem to add current events into the mix, which irks me… recent political shenanigans or covid should have little to no relevance to a story, in my opinion.
Hence my quest for light, fluffy, humorous reads of late. No rom/coms for me tho.
I surprised myself one day when I decided to list “quick, easy shawl/ette or other simple” patterns…about 40 made the list. Same for fave sock patterns. If I never looked at Ravelry again, I’d have plenty to keep me busy! Said no knitter ever. Besides, I’ve been a “member” for a lonnnng time.
      heh heh
      and those fabulous rabbit holes…😊😊

I’m knitting the Classic Ribbed Hat with Purl Soho Cashmere Merino Bloom, too. I love it and I think because of the fairly tight ply, it may not pill as much as we fear. I’d love a sweater in this yarn but it might be cost prohibitive

    • @EdibleThoughtsMakes
      @EdibleThoughtsMakes  11 місяців тому

Whoohoo!! What color(s)?? I’m okay with not trying it out in sweater-form to test pill-ability 😆. I might be too scared to wear it since it would cost so much.

Another wonderful podcast, Stephanie! I always seem to be a little late, not able to watch when a new episode is released (Life 😉), but I catch up, eventually 😍 I first discovered you, after Julie of Sweet Sparrow Knits mentioned your podcast in one of her stories. I began watching, during the pandemic. Episodes filmed when your girls were younger, not able to be in school. Videos were recorded, in separate rooms, places where you managed to find whatever space you could, to share your works and thoughts, despite obstacles which were out of your control. Thank you for letting us have a glimpse, into your life ♥Your cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, reading, mothering, deep appreciation of nature (even during the cold winter months), have all been very inspiring to me! Blessings to you and your beautiful family! ♥♥♥
