    Say, my man, that was very well done. I really appreciate that tutorial. I just had my spark plug done today, hopefully, I can do it myself next time. Maybe you can give me a tip on how to clean gunk out of a carburetor(gy6) without removing it from the bike? Thanks so much 👍✌!

    • @davidhofinger4927
      @davidhofinger4927  10 місяців тому

      Nope lol
      Not really, We would still have to take it off of the bike, open it up and clean it out, honest but it’s not that big of a job at all
      Disconnect your fuel line, Disconnect the carburetor drain hose, You don’t have to touch the throttle cable keep it on. Pop off the intake with a Phillips, head screwdriver, and a flat head
      And loosen up the intake clamp And pull that sucker off and clean it out.
      There are three screws on the bottom of the carburetor on it, flipped it upside down, take those three screws out, and then gently wiggle the float bowl off and you will see your fuel jets, and those things come out with a flat head screwdriver.
      I know that through a comment it’s not showing you how to do this, but it is as simple as that you’re not gonna break anything just make sure you plug the fuel line back onto the fuel Inlet, Put the drain hose back on the float bowl drain nozzle, Tighten everything back up. I don’t see anybody being able to clean it properly with keeping it on the bike. I have not done it that way before or seen it done.

    If you slip a short length of rubber hose over the spark plug ceramic, you can use it to get the plug started in the hole. If you put a little never-seize on the spark plug threads, the plug won't corrode into the hole.

      My bikes are put up for the winter. It would have to be a short if anything.
      The only thing I can do is explain it to you as best as I can.
      It’s not about your arms. It’s about your foot.
      Have both hands on the grips, heel of your right foot on the nub where the double stand foot knob is, push DOWN with your FOOT.
      That is what’s key
      You do not even need to pull backwards at all. I can do it just with my foot alone.
      In one fluid motion push down with your foot and gently pull backwards with your hands on the grips and it will snap backwards just fine

    Why cange the spark plug? How do I know if I need to change it? what problem it can cause?

    • @davidhofinger4927
      @davidhofinger4927  Рік тому +1

      you want to give your Scooter fresh spark when you change your oil spark plugs don’t last forever Homie lol
      It can cause your scooter to sputter and not run efficiently because the spark isn’t traveling quickly and strongly
      Not so much on four strokes but it’s just a good thing to do because carbon builds up on the spark plug and restricts the spark from sparking it’s just an easy and good thing to do

      Mine either.
      2 strokes don’t take motor oil I hope you know that lol
      2t’s gas and oil is mixed together in the cylinder either by a pre-mix conversion (the safest) or a separate oil pump that’s connected to the throttle cable

    Almost a professional! ( Not cynical) .. but soon as you made a funnel & started pouring oil holding jug upsidedown it became evident.., ROOKIE …TIP=Hold qt. Or any jug with offset cap , cap side up. You will very rarely ever need a funnel again . Nice job on video though really.

    You don’t screw it in to check it read your manual to get the proper amount of oil you just put the stick in and pull out to check
