- This is why the crocodile is the most feared reptile on earth. With over 2 fatal human attacks each day, this predator has been reclassified as the number one killer of humans in Africa, overtaking the hippo. Crocodile expert Brad Bestelink decides to do the unthinkable and dives in (literally) with crocodiles without a cage or any other protection to get a closer look at these dominant beasts.

In this documentary they talk about how brave this husband and wife are to dive around these crocodiles and that is 100% true that takes a lot of bravery for them. And they talk about how it’s a first. And that is 100% true. However the big question is, what about the cameraman that is filming them? I believe he’s a big part of the history making,. And that poor guy is risking his life and not even having his name mentioned
It's not a first. Maybe that area is a first. But I watched a man years ago and he followed a huge one into a cave and he swam following it. He was saying he felt like it invited him. These two are not the first to dive with crocodiles. People here have followed them at sea but the one I seen was not that big.
In Europe we have a appreciation for someone and its called SALARY.
@@CuriousConnoisseurs nice
@@CuriousConnoisseurs I imagine the husband and are receiving money 💰 as well.
I came here to say the same.
Saltwater and Nile Crocs are some of the few species of Animal on earth that will actively hunt humans. Crocodiles are both fascinating and terrifying
They only hunt humans for exactly the same reason they hunt all the other animals. We're made out of meat.
congratulations! u copied one of the first things they say
There’s a video of some villagers fishing out the remains of one of their lost villagers somewhere in south east Asia. The croc not only tore the guy from limb to limb but managed to swallow his whole leg, arm and half the guy’s torso with the head still attached. So the word terrifying is understatement.

Check out ‘Into the Dragon’s Lair’ from 2010. Amazing, terrifying footage.
These two were clearly made for each other! What a couple. What a Career! 👍😎
Best footage I ever watched , it’s 3 am , I love it, very instructive
Far more effective would have been to place cameras on the crocodiles themselves and see what they do underwater, easier, more cost effective, 24/7, but of course, you wouldn't have the drama...

What about a mechanical crocodile?

Incredible footage into the unknown world of the crocodile. It was exciting to be able to learn about these fascinating creatures who live in the world of mystery. Thanks for sharing such incredible footage and information.

Pretty crazy to swim with crocodiles and to go into a cave after a crocodile. Then they’re not trained cave divers either. There’s no line in that cave, they’re not wearing rebreathers, and many other mistakes that could’ve cost them their lives. This was amazing footage, but I hope next time they’ll be more careful. No crocodile footage is worth dying for.
Thats why I'm not understanding how there's these croc attacks..but crocodiles don't like boats nor humans
@@milosmitic2071 ---- Crocs eat fish underwater, and mammals above water. A mammal underwater doesn't make sense to them. (Doesn't make sense to get underwater with crocs to a lot of us, either, and we're supposed to be able to make more sense of things than crocs, so imagine a croc trying to figure it all out.)

Amazing footage. Swimming with large crocodiles seems incredibly dangerous, but I suppose it comes down to what one is used to. I spent many years hiking and camping in Grizzly bear country which many people considered a dangerous activity, but done with appropriate caution is usually relatively safe. This video/documentary is awesome indeed.
there are a lot of prejudices about the so-called wild but cities are much more dangerous;)
Well said 🤔
Ok
crocodiles are way more dangerous than grizzly bears they hunt humans thousands of people are killed every year by crocs bear attacks are very rare and mostly not predatory by nature
Is there a camera person in the water with them?
Caves are dangerous enough without crocodiles
They broke so many rules of cave diving
Facts💯
@@india1422 who.s going to retrieve their bodies after they met the 10 & 13' couple?
I really hope they study up more on cave diving before they go back in there the next year or I fear that we might read about two divers that had to be recovered from the delta.
I hope they do a video about the Brazilian pantanal.
That first 7 foot Croc just wanted to be left alone. When you’re in the water and you can see what you’re filming in front of you,it’s relatively “safe”. But if you’ve got a huge Croc at 15 foot plus long, they’ll take you underwater pretty easily. They’ll be around long after we’re gone. Crocs and gators survived the dinosaurs, and they’re older than trees.
Yes wise words never take a croc for granted
I'm actually really glad they'll survive longer than us. And I hope the same can be said for sharks.
crocs don't even outlive humans lol you act like they living such healthy lives those fuckers die left in right in the wild especially in more extreme conditions where they arent the top predator around. Its that small percent that actually make it big a rule the area and grow and outlive the rest not like all crocs are just out growing and living on forever gtfo with your dinosaur shit lol
I've heard only 2% or 3% of hatchlings make it to adulthood. Talk about growing up tough ....
About 1 in 100 make it through to adulthood. Lizards, birds, snakes are the main reason why!! They love eating crocodile eggs and baby crocs!!
Crazy but very brave people exploring crocodiles in their own territory, especially at night.
That was brilliant! Haunting, terrifying, majestic
.. just amazing footage!

"If there is a good time to dive, which I don't think there is, this is it".
Well that ^is^ reassuring 😄
Imagine swimming out of those caves knowing there are two monster crocs somewhere behind you
When the one croc was poised waiting for a fledgling, I wonder why Brad didn’t just stay back. He was close enough and might’ve gotten awesome footage of it going for a bird. It seems he needlessly wanted to get closer and caused it to swim away.

Amazing! We just went to Everglades and enjoyed the airboat tour. Alligators live in Florida, seeing a lot of them, but would never swim with them. Thank you for the video!
I used to live in Florida and went swimming with alligators in a pond no bigger then a basketball court. I didn't say it was a good idea but I was 18 and well I was very dumb. 😂✌️
There’s a big difference in size between an 11 or 12 foot gator to seeing a 16 or 18 foot Croc. Watch some of the UA-cam vids on the Australian Croc tours,if you want to see their incredible size.
@@robertabray-enhus3198 : The Saltwater Crocodile in Australia, is particularly large and dangerous.
@Bruce Wayne there are now also Nile crocs in Florida. They are being searched for so they don't damage the economy in the Everglades. It's unknown how they actually got there but of course someone put them there.
@@robertabray-enhus3198 okay that's known already but YOU still wouldn't swim with the American alligator or American croc. We now also have Nile crocs in the Everglades.
It's great that Brad and his wife could able to dive in such places to get a closer look at crocodiles. It's amazing and it's also very risky. The moment they went deep in the crocodile cave, combining with the background music, it was like watching a horror movie. It's so dangerous.
That is just so creepy the way the crocodiles head just slowly slips under the surface in slow motion. .
Professional Divers, yet risked totally running out of air and losing their way out while following Crocodiles deep into dark caves? Seems like something an amateur would do.
They Need DRAMA. Just like most women.
I'd bet it's all talk for drama for this documentary
Since you’re thinking so logical you missed the part where they will be much better prepared than you think and obviously having enough air that can last 1-2 hours etc these guys are pros while you sit on the couch passing judgment
Lol well technically they could have just stood up. They’re under floating plant matter… so amazing 😻
@@dontplay9937 Thanks for complementing me on my logical thinking. You're obviously one of my biggest fans.
Interesting footage. I was surprised at how white the crocs teeth appeared in the diver's
lights.
Secondly, if they did as narrated, I am surprised that two experienced divers would take such risks with their air supply and not leave themselves a sufficient safety margin. This is downright stupid and is drilled into every novice diver.
If they had drowned, someone else would have had to venture into those papyrus-caves to retrieve their bodies, or what was left of them after the crocs had finished with them.
I would imagine it is not beyond someone's ingenuity to rig up a few Go-Pros to a mini underwater-drone and pursue the crocs into the caves that way.
It would be safer and less intimidating for the crocs. Having a large creature, complete with lights, swimming after it, is unlikely for the crocs to exhibit their natural behaviour.
Just my opinion.
It is stupid to be so careless with their oxygen supply but they are also swimming with crocodiles so I don't think they are very smart to begin with lol. You are 100 percent correct underwater drones would be safe and the crocs wouldn't be so intimidated/aggravated by that and more likely to exhibit natural behaviors.
Great comment. 👍👍
I think the oxygen tank is too keep them under water to film.. But the water level is not that deep, so they could swim up easily for air.. Just them crocs though 😰
@@Trumplican it's obviously just narrated that way for suspense. No way did that actually almost run out of oxygen
@@frankkuster4778 why do you say that? divers run low on oxygen all the time especially amateurs who forget to ensure they have a full tank before diving. Oxygen can also be used up quicker under stressful or exciting conditions.
31:30 The crocodile never even saw them. Didn't even have its mouth open. It just noticed them after it bumped into them and then took off.
Yep, they would know about it if the croc really wanted them
@@sourdiesel8344 It seems to me crocs don’t attack underwater. It’s as simple as that.
Yep I thought the same
They nudge into each other as a warning, it's quite common. It's unlikely that it just didn't know they were there. They don't charge like that for nothing.
@@goldenboy06 go for a swim and see what happens , my mate in Zambia wasn't so lucky, think it's just the scuba gear that detoured them.
If whoever posted this is still in contact with these researches you need to connect them with the guy from the UA-cam channel “Floridas Wildest.” He & his wife have a few animals they have rescued along with an American Alligator that is around 8ft I think. He swims with this gator regularly & even gives tours where you can go into the water with the gator as well. The reason I’m bringing him up though is bc he has gotten some amazing footage of Wild Alligators & Crocodiles in channels & waterways around where he lives in Florida. Some of it is just mind blowing & beautiful at the same time. These huge animals don’t attack him and he swims right up to them. Now of course he’s a trained professional with over 25+ years experience & makes sure to tell all of followers to never go swimming with wild cros or gators. But it’s just crazy that he’s able too. These guys need to get in touch with him to further they’re research bc he would be a great asset.
In sure they already know of them Florida's wildest swam this same place 7 months ago okavango they didn't anything to big idk if that was the only video or not I think its titled swimming with nile crocs
I hope they paid you all very well to do this filming. This looked so terrifying, but awesome
Gotta tip my hat to these guys. It takes a lot of guts to go scuba diving in crocodile-infested waters. Thank you for this awesome footage!
I live in the Northern Territory of Australia so we live with this fear everyday as well, just looking at a body of water automatically kicks our fear and instints into high gear!!
Is it really that bad? I’ve heard there’s alot of places where there aren’t any although I find it hard to believe, I’m from Sydney have wanted to move there for the longest time!
Reminds me of the guy who said he "knew" Grizzly bears, ended up being eaten by one (along with his girlfriend)
Yup and it was recorded on video, same thing happened with a 'shark diver' who would go without a cage or protection.... Not even a fucking spear gun, because sharks are actually not interested in humans.... Until they are. Fuck around with nature and find out I guess.
Who was that??

What an extraordinary footage, but I get to question would it not be possible to use underwater drone with cam to explore safely.
With all the curiosity they bear, yet it seems like they don't want to enter into the nether world.
It is good footage but the reason is not they don't want anyone the viewer to see that these are actually intelligent animals that have been around since the dinosaurs, I myself live in Florida and come in contact with alligators all the time and would never exploit them for fame or any kind of Fortune, getting to live around them is enough for me!
Thanks to the divers who took the film . You guy's are incredible people god bless.

Thats a myth, theres no proof this story ever happend like that, yet somehow it keeps getting repeated.
this is such facts and i have a story that corroborates this , my dad's mate was fishing in livingstone (on the zambezi river) and at the spot he was fishing people warned him that there is a big croc that hangs around that area , and he said "no, don't worry I've seen the croc and i fish on the rocks 3 meters away from the water so he can't get me" 3 months later he goes missing so they go take a look at the fishing spot and they could see by the tracks that this croc had actually watched him from the water and decided he can't get this oak from there so the croc went up into the bushes behind where this oak fished and waited for him there and the croc took him from behind into the water, pretty crazy to think about.

You do with your life. It’s admirable that there’s people that brave.
But what I don’t understand is why the couple would allow their children near the waters. Sure they’re “brave” children. But they could disappear in a second, and at any given moment.
I also don’t understand why these villagers also allow people to go near the waters when they keep getting killed by crocodiles. Then again, who am I to critique a completely different culture I’ve never been in.

Awesome video . Going in those caves unprepared is crazy lol
The croc racing out of nowhere and butting the camera should have been a warning to not get too relaxed, comfortable and complacent.

These guys are SAVAGES! Holy hell. I respect the HELL out of any one person who's willingly diving into the "Do Not Disturb" territory of the Nile crocodile - and actually getting out alive. I literally don't know how to word this, as even the thought of doing such only equates to a horrible death, on my part. What insanely brave people. Wow.
@ Hei I agree with much of your comment but I'd substitute "brave" with "stupidity".
I think they're suicidal adrenaline junkies, to be honest. It's literally a death wish to swim into those caves. Completely insane. It may be pioneering to start with, but the Crocodiles run the show down there. I'm afraid we're going to end up reading about the horrible fates of this couple. why i wonder do the natives not build some sort of barrier to keep the crocs at bay? stone wall, bamboo stakes, ANYTHING.

I am going to give these seasoned divers the benefit of the doubt. that they are really not reckless enough to enter a strange cave without a safety rope and stay until they are low on air. My guess this situation was dramatized for effect.
My only objection to both parents going into an unknown, potentially dangerous situation of diving with an apex predator, is the real possibility of their children being orphaned. Having children to care for is a major responsibility and unnecessary risks should be avoided.
that dude is crazy. They could just get lots of equipment and position it under water and wait...

Interesting but very scary fact about Crocs is that they have the intelligence and ability to stalk it's human prey, learning it's routine etc for days, months even just waiting for the right time to strike..imagine going about your day not knowing that a 20ft reptile killing machine, fast on land and in the water is watching your every move and you have no idea till they make their presences known and by then it's too late..they should start making more movies about killer Crocs than killer sharks cause the Crocs are for sure the cold hearted killing machines they try to make sharks out to be.
