I don’t say this lightly since I’m a massive traditionalist and hate modernism….but this was much nicer b4 2011. 😢 It’s like Rome can’t get anything right! The one thing that was really beautiful was Eucharistic prayer 3 in the old translation. And Marty haugens mass of creation was the bomb! Rome just can’t get it right! What was needed was for the priest to face ad Orientem, for the vestments to resemble pre Vatican 2 ones. And for the Altar to be arrayed they was it was pre-Vatican 2, and for the communion rail to be restored. That would eliminated the bulk of the problems… Instead we still have shit celebrations of the mass. The translation wasn’t really the issue.
It is certainly grave matter to speak of any holy mass in this manner. To liken it to excrement is satan speaking through you. However unpleasing to your senses you may find it, it is still the holy sacrifice of the Mass. Yes we all love beauty in the liturgy, but be humble. We sinners deserve hell, not beautiful liturgy. Give thanks to God that you can be present at mass at all. As a Catholic you owe Rome your pious obedience.
@@sebastianbendyna2363 thanks for your comment. We do have to respectfully disagree with parts of your comment. The pre-2011 revision was, unfortunately, incorrect. The original translation from Latin was riddled with errors. This made our original, pre-Vatican II English Mass almost unrecognizable in some places from the original Latin Mass. The revision of the text in 2011, in our view, was wonderful and necessary. It corrected many textual errors that were blatantly wrong. This change made our Masses more faithful and correct. Yes, this made some original music “uncomfortable” with new words, but it was certainly a justified change. We’d encourage you to research the text before and after the 2011 changes. There, you can see that the post-Vatican II translations were textually incorrect. Again, thank you for your comment!! It has opened an important dialogue. My only comment is that you should not be singing a Greek text with an English invocation; Lord/Christ, have mercy should be used throughout. Macaronic texts are all very well, but should certainly not be interchanged within a Penitential Rite.

11:22 this is the most epic great amen of any mass part.
Great channel and great content! Thank you for your music and archival contributions! God Bless!!!
@@thecatholiccourant3416 thank you!
I will sing this every Sunday if I ever became a priest
It adds so much to the mass if the priest sings his parts of the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
I'm praying for you!🙏🕊🕊🕊🙏
The Mass of Cremation needs to go away, as does any song by Haugen.
@@robertmiller6749 why?
Please don’t.
Amen. 🙏🏿

you must be a lot of fun at parties! LOL!
We’re still praising the lord, is there a problem?
Let's just keep what's left of tradition and shut up
It sounds fluffy and effeminate.

This Mass settings is an embarrassment to our tradition. (Not your rendition, just Marty's work in general).
Why? I Love it!!!
And yet it used practically everywhere and everyone knows it. Why do you consider his work so bad? It’s not bad, by the way.
