Thank you Sato san. Western people look down on daily utensils (Like cups, bowls, plates, etc) and say they are not art. For me some of them, like yours, are the highest degree of sculptural art. They are so beautiful that I can't describe how they move me.
Many of the traditional Japanese crafts are the art of the common people. The Japanese have always made things with self-satisfaction rather than economic rationality. I think that’s the reason.
I wish I could have been taught this technique when I went to art school and worked with ceramics. It's so pretty. I really wish I could try it someday. Love all the beautiful creations shown in this video!
