Quick tip, you don’t have to fill any of your buckets. For the wash just rinse car, foam it up then agitate with a few clean damp mits. After wash just pressure wash the mits then throw them back into empty bucket ready for the next wash. Same with wheel bucket, no need to fill it up with water and soap, just an empty bucket with all your wheel brushes then use the wheel cleaner as lubrication and wet your brushes with water. That’s how me and my brother do it, usually all setup within 2 minutes. Hope this helps.

Advice: Could be faster with three buckets 🪣 filled with water before you leave your house just put shampoo and use the pressure washer to create suds in the wash and tire bucket. They sell buckets with leak proof sealed lids. It will save water in your tank too for your first wash.

You made svrl trips back to the van for your setup gear. I think 3 mins cud be shorten maybe??? Just a tad bit more organization w/ the gear is needed.

Hunter you’re a great businessman! Even though he is your brother he still needs incentive to have the pep on his step that you do. Maybe come up with some sort of bonus the employees can get if you complete a certain amount of cars etc. make it fun & maybe give him more responsibility and a bit more income to give him an incentive to want to do better, faster detailing. Just a thought.👍

Let me ask you a financial questions. Do you have everything on the books and have a paper trail for tax and to prove income? A lot of people don't understand the importance of this especially when you want to apply for a loan for something like buying a house etc. Also, you should do a video about accounting, paperwork and how you accept payments and in what form, cash, cashapp, venom etc.

Bro, I just started doing detailing over the weekends and it’s popping bro. I get like 10 leads a week, but I'm not really sure how to price things.I do from 2-3 during the weekends. A full detail on a sedan can typically take me 3-4 hours. Plus 30 minutes for set up, tear down. I would typically charge 250.00. But that’s cuz I add clay baring and wax. The timing and hustle is real, but I gotta keep up the drive and motivation going. Thanks for your insight, maybe you can refer me to your videos were you go over pricing?

    • @davidenriquez8282
      @davidenriquez8282 3 роки тому +4

Now I’m no expert and I just started as well. But what I’m currently doing to determine pricing is 1. How much I want to get paid? Whether it’s 20-30 an hour and 2. How much material am I going to use? 3. How dirty is the car/truck?
I’m still working on it but I hope that helps. I also try to subtract my revenue from expenses to determine how much profit I’m actually making. I think once you figure that out for yourself, you’ll be able to price more confidently.

If you're doing maintenance...as far as exterior, use a touchless foam bath. Rinse and hit it one more time. Let the foam set for about 5 minutes. Rinse and hit it with a ceramic spray and rinse. My go to is Mirro Polish Finishes. Hands down the best spray and rinse I've encountered! And they're in Cali...so close to you lol. Follow all that with a blow dry and BAM!!! 15 minutes tops!!! Even including rims and wheel wells!
Now if the car is filthy, (caked on mud from off roading) then that's a different story.
Also...if you haven't yet, look in to an under carriage sprayer. Cheap yet works awesome to clean the under bodies of cars! An additional up-charge 😁

  • @carbar3936

Two bucket system 🚫 < Multi Towel Method ( Instead of dunking twice, flip towel and continue until all 8 sides are dirty )
Foam Entire Vehicle with wheels ( same person who does the top surface[Not Side] does the wheels )
NOTE : if the wheel person is done first, grab the gun and get ready to rinse.
While they are rinsing, second guy should have a multi sprayer with a wax while wet solution ( Sonax spray and seal, TW seal & Shine, TWH Wet Wax ) ready to spray, coat the vehicle,
First guy rinses again while the second guy gets the leaf blower and drying towel.
Hope this helps. Stop filling up buckets, you can rinse the mitt or brushes and uses less water
If it’s a decon, second guy should be standing by with a dry towel and prep wipe
My maintenance takes about 20-45Min at most and that’s a Chevy suburban but I have a team of two which makes us 3
90% of the time, my team and I knock out the interior before the exterior just so we don’t bring whatever we rinsed off the exterior into the interior, and there less cross contamination as far as dirty gloves from wheels and touching interior ( yikes )

@@JimmyTurnbull88 yes, you must create a flow of movement, nobody should be standing or waiting doing nothing. Always prep for the next step and be ready to execute the next step. It should be a revolving door.
      We clean interior first
First thing of the interior is glass
When it comes to wiping down vinyl, leather and plastic; we spray on the towel and low; away from the glass so no overspray lands on it and onto a towel.
Now this is what works for us.
While two of us knock out glass, the third is getting the vacuum and necessary tools for the service.
While one vacuum, two are knocking out the jams without interfering with the one vacuuming.
We don’t ever pass a vacuum hose over the center
We go around and do the other side; we switch and continue what we were doing.
One gets the Tornador and hits the floor matts and seat for a quick clean & fresh scent. Final wipe on door glass with IPA; interior done.
While one is wrapping up interior, two are prepping for exterior.
Once you start to realize what can be done rather than having to stand, you’ll see a tremendous increase in work flow that’s way more efficient.

I rinsed between panels unless is was massively dirty( in this case, I rinsed quarterly ). I kept this one in small 3 gallon bucket with some water and soap.
      1. Hunter does it proper, bring that small tool bag for interior and knock it out so there isn’t too many back & forth. A drill with a cone brush is very useful to help with vacuuming. So… it’s Glass, Vac and wipe your vinyl & Dash.
      2. Foam half the car and the full top, pull out the extendo and get to work. Leave a folded towel closes to where you’ll rest the extendo so you can grab the folded MFT, and continue with the side of the vehicle. I keep a sweat band on my forearm to hold my detail brush and quick access.
      3. Do the wheels and rinse the car
      4. Repeat the exterior process on the other side except you don’t need to use the extendo.

It's been mentioned to fill your wash buckets before heading out - that's what I do - I fill mine the night before. I would add a tip that that during colder weather, I fill mine with very warm water in the morning before leaving. I'm also in California not too far from Hunter and while it doesn't get below zero here, we see 30s and sometimes below that, so reaching into a bucket of warm water is much better that cold water when it's in the 30s first thing in the morning. I also wear glove liners under my disposable rubber gloves - I'm thin and that helps keep my fingers stay warmer in colder weather. Cold hands and fingers slow you down, so keep them warm.

When I started detailing it took me about the same time until I figured out the process. Now large SUV's time is down 5 to 6 hours depending on condition of the vehicle you'll get there.

Great work, but what I did was organize everything by if it’s interior or exterior and then move from one spot of my vehicle to the next removing what’s needed. Example you started in the back removing items then you went to the front then back to the back if you removed everything from the back first then the front you may have cut down the time more 🤷🏽‍♂️

He made too many trips to the van for his tools & products & his water should've already been in the buckets upon arrival w/ a tight/fitted lid on it of course. His setup gear could be better organized too. I like his giddy-up but maybe sharpen those organization skills a bit better.

I thought of just setting up in a parking lot to self promote. I plan on hitting up all reinds and family to spread the word as well. Also, any tips on getting a business license or should I wait to see if I can get this off the ground first. Thanks... love your videos!

Forgot again- Grr! Told waffle towels best for windows and whatever products you're using, you may want to contact the company & advise them you're using their products on U Tube (free advertising for them) & see if you can make a deal for freebies for yourself if you promote/mention their products on your channel. Or contact other companies to let them know you're willing to try their products, give your honest opinion on your channbel. May have to say why the products is best for you (be honest) but every penny helps! LOL Also I'm in OH, getting int. & ext. done tomorrow at 1pm, taking 4 hrs, $150 including the trunk carpet, that clay stuff ya'll do & a graphene wax. My car's pretty clean - no debris, funny odors etc, back seats super clean of body oils but little dusty, no body oils period & barely some body oils aka dirt on driver side where your 1st get in and door handle where your close the door. Don't know where you are, but that's about $30 cheaper where I'm going for the 1st time so little less than avg. around my area w/in a 80mi radius.
