I bought some of these and they didn't work for me unfortunately. I'm using an iPhone XS Max; anyone else had issues? I do use a glass screen protector on the phone, but that hasn't stopped my touchscreen compatible alpinestar gloves working so not sure what the bother here is...
There’s a follow up vid coming on this.
I’ve got a screen protector on my phone too and the gloves work fine for me, BUT if your phone holder on the bike also has a protective screen - like my UltimateAddOns one does, then the GloveTacts seem to struggle to cope with the combined 2-screen layers.
I also have an XS, purchased a pair of Moto Gloves (touch screen compatible) and didn't work, sent them back, received replacement and still nfg...am thinking of sewing in "conductive thread". Are you saying you have a pair of alpinestar and they are working fine?
This is quite possible the best/most useful accessories video ever!!!! Thank you.
Clicked & purchased. Just what I needed. No more pulling over and taking gloves off. 👍🏽
Great idea bruce, Purchased
been wondering how to do this for ages
Ride safe mate and have a great week
Great quick vid and I like the much improved intro.
I've been using these on my handroids for about 4 weeks and are still as well stuck on as the day I attached them. I only have them on the index and middle finger of my left hand.
Brilliant, thank you. I'm buying them straight away as this seems much better than licking my finger first. :)
Nice one. Thanks Bruce.
This is just what I've been after and was about to go searching for a version of this product so it was great to see your review. I always prefer buying off the back of a recommendation.
Great channel Mr T! All the best with it going forward 👏
Cheers Chilli,
They seem to work so far, I’ll keep folk up to date though on the channel 👍
Thanks heaps for this video and in particular your transparency about affiliate links. First time I've heard that and as a result I want to buy something to support your channel. Why can't everyone just be honest like you? 🏆
Thanks Parma! 👍
Always love your recommendations Bruce. I’ll be interested to see how you get along with these over time. I fitted some earlier in the year. Worked instantly at the kitchen table when I fitted them.
They lasted a couple of weeks before performance tailed off until they stopped working all together. Eventually I got rid of them and I remember being quite pleased it was only a ten quid experiment.
I look forward to your follow up vid.
Keep up the good work.
That’s interesting to hear Seamus, I’ll certainly keep folk updated on them 👍
great idea, i'd not heard of those before.. my rukka virium gloves have pads built in, but my summer gloves don't so i'll be ordering some ! thanks for the heads up and a great informative vid !
Hold off on that Andy - there’s a new version coming out soon. My current set have now come off my glove after about a months use in the wet and cold. The new version apparently hold up to bad weather better.
I’ve got a set coming so will do a review vid on them and let you know 👍
Great quick vid. Look forward to seeing the longevity of them. Like you say the pain of repeatedly stopping and having to strip gloves just to do the basic task. Cheap and rewarding. Great find fella. Also good to have that amazon link. 🏍️🏍️
Thanks bud 👍
Brilliant idea
Just what I need. Cheers
OMFG , been waiting for this ty ty ty ty
I contacted GloveTacts today via their Instagram account to ask when they will be restocking their amazon supplies - they hope within the next 10 days folks.
Hi just came across your video. I don’t know if you remember but you stayed with us in Malaysia. I was surprised to see it was you
Been looking for something like this, just bought via your link. Keep up the great channel, hope to catch up with you in person in Surrey or South Coast at some point.
Thanks very much, glad the vid was useful 👍
Cheers Bruce, great new intro👌 no need to skip forward. 👍🙏🏍🙌
Really useful Bruce, thanks mate.
No bother bud, keep an eye on the channel and social media as I’ll keep folk updated with how I’m getting on with them 👍
Thank you sir❤🗽👍💯
Thanks for this Bruce just ordered them through your link 👍
Cheers Mike, thanks very much 👍
Great, just placed order through your link , thanks
Much appreciated Les, thank you 👍
Top tip👍
Also works if one cuts the tip off a nitrile surgical glove and stretch/glue that to or over the gloved finger. Cost next to nothing.
wow thats fantastic thank you
No bother David 👍
They seem ingenious, and as more than one in a packet, I can do summer, winter and dirty bike gloves too! :-) Cheers Bruce, shall toddle off and order some...
..... scrub that, they are out of stock, you'll have to find another seller and update the link mate
Those are some crazy gloves you got there lol
Bought these straight off the back of your video with the link. Cheers for this Bruce 👌
That’s good 😅 What phone holder do you use ??? Thanks
useful 👍 !!!
Looking forward to seeing how these work over the winter. Do you have any top tip advice for glove visor wiper add-ons? Keep up the good work.
I’ve used VisorCat for the last 4yrs, great bit of kit. I’ve done a vid on it many years ago
@@teapotone Thanks - I'll check it out
Great video as always. You seem to have a few of them left over. Don't suppose you could send 1 my way pleeeeeeaaaassse 🤞🤞
Much better intro, like it.
Nice tip mate, I take it they mould to the glove then go rock hard in 24 hours 🤔
Top podcast yesterday with the other raga muffins 🤣👍
Ride Safe Baza 😎🤘
No mate they don’t go rock hard, it’s just recommended to give the glue 24hrs to properly set before you use them. Mine seem fine so far after a weeks use 👍
Awesome! Ordered via your link! :o)
Great stuff, thanks Mark 👍
Mixed reviews on Amazon so will be interesting to hear your views in a few months (assuming we are allowed out by then).
I've been looking for something like this too, will get some through your link
Cheers bud,
But if an update coming soon - if you have a screen protector on your phone, then it seems if you then put your phone in a case which also has a screen on it, then the gloves don’t always work due to the double-screen effect.
@@teapotone No worries, appreciate the honesty. I usually use an open phone mount with no case so should be fine.
Link used not only for these but for other bits and bobs , kick back coming your way 👍
That’s very much appreciated Paul, thank you 👍
I like your podcast preferences
Thanks Seth 👍
Awesome. Just went to buy some and says currently unavailable. There was a suggestion for a £19.99 sparkly set though🙄
Great little video. How resilient are those going to be? Keep us posted.
Yep that’s my concern but they’re doing fine so far, had them on about a week 👍
@@teapotone Excellent, I run as well as cycle and motorbike. These will be a life saver. Crazy I haven't heard of them before.
Guess what's just been added to the Santa list. Cheers pal.
Used these for sometime now, work well. Don't solve the issue with FaceID though with helmet on :)
Cheers for saying you have tried them for a while I'll buy some now
If you have Apple Watch, it unlocks with full face helmet.
Hello T 🍵 pot 🍶 Uno .. worth a Cuppa while viewing . 😃
How good are they holding on higher speed
what's that thing on the back of the glove?
Very mixed reviews in the Amazon site.🤔
I'll wait to see what you think of them. 👍
Yeah there’s definitely good and bad.
They work excellently direct on your phone or if your phone has a screen protector.
However if your phone has a screen protector and you then put it in a case which also has a screen, then they do t seem to work very well.
I’ve spoken with GloveTacts and it’s a known issue for phones with screen protectors and is something they are working on.
Why cannot I not see the link to buy the pads?
Fancy that 👌
Just ordered these. Hope it works!
They work great as long as you don’t have a protective screen on your phone AND your phone holder also has a protective screen - in these cases they seem to struggle as per my previous social media updates.
I’ve been wearing mine for about a month and sadly it’s fallen off! 🤷♂️
Got an update vid coming soon
@@teapotone mine have just arrived from amazon today, i dont have protective cover but I do some miles soo.. who knows
Rode the bike the other day.. trying to skip way point on Calimoto... kept having to take glove off. Its almost like you knew I needed help!
Ha Ha that’s exactly what was driving me mad too. Chuffed to find these Glovetact things when I did a wee google search.
So far they’re living up to the hype so I’m well chuffed with them 👍
@@teapotone I'll be interested to see how long they last. Cheers!
Aye me too 👍
Love it. Your gloves look a bit like The Predator's gloves 🤣
They’re the Knox Handroids, great gloves but expensive 👍
The power of the BRUCE. now sold out !!!🙁😧🇨🇦
Done and bought :-)
Cheers Ian 👍
I don’t think it really matters, but I know your phone code, might want to change it. Also, which winter gloves are you using? I just got soaked on a round trip from Callander to Glasgow, I need better gloves!!
Bought two packs though the link! 👍🏻
Thanks Bob👍
Please put the Amazon affiliate link on every video. I'm going 2 go ham on Christmas. You might as well benefit from it.
Purchased ❤️
Awesome bud, thanks very much, and let me know how you get on with them too please 👍
@@teapotone will do mate, always done my head in having to remove the gloves, you found the holy grail. I previously tried metal thread and stitched it into the end of my glove but didn’t work. Cheers boss
looks like a brilliant idea. Hope it will last for a bit
Me too! 👍
Glove Tacs Presented by Sean Connery !! Thanks...
I just dip my fingertip in silicone
Bruce which gloves are those? Look so cool
Cheers Joan, they’re the Knox Handroids, been wearing them for years now since they first came out, love’m 👍
What is on your glove? looks like string holding it on??
Can't see any in stock :(
Had these on two pairs of gloves, the smaller pad came away after a day or two on the right finger. Issue there was that it left a sticky residue behind.. which caused the finger of the glove to stick to the throttle, rolling it on a couple of times when I took my hand off!!
Granted, likely user issue as I didn't leave it to cure long enough, the longer over-finger pad was fine and continues to work pretty ok to date! Just a warning to be careful to cure it and if it comes away CLEAN IMMEDIATELY WITH SOLVENT/ALCOHOL!
Good point bud - aye I left mine for almost 48hrs before I used it on the bike and all seems ok so far.
I’ll keep folks updated though 👍
Can you get done for using your phone when riding a bike??
If you’re holding it whilst riding, or watching a film etc then yes of course.
But if it’s connected to a Comms unit in your lid and you’re keeping your eyes on the road and riding safely then no.
Obviously you can be done for ‘Without due care and attention’ if the standard of your riding is sub-par and there’s evidence to suggest you were distracted by your phone, then I’d suggest it would be a factor.
Simple solution - don’t ride like a tit and keep your eyes on the road 🤷♂️😉
Great
I noticed you put it on you left hand ?
Are you left handed or is it to keep your right hand free for throttle use ?
Best regards Shaun
Both bud
man those gloves are gauntlets! Very cool looking though.
What is that item on your glove? Bomb launcher, laser gun?
I'm interested to see how you do with these as the product doesn't receive a very good rating on amazon.
Yeah I saw that too when I was buying mine, but I thought it was worth the punt as they were recommended to me.
So far I’ve had no issues with them and they work a treat, but they’ve not been in any significant rain or cold as yet.
I have found that if you have a screen protector on your phone and then you out your phone in a phone holder on your bike that also has a screen - like the UltimateAddOns ones I use on a lot of bike reviews, then sometimes it’s a bit of a pain to get the glove to work, you need more pressure
Worth an IPA clean of the glove before.
I recently bought a pair of winter gloves that are supposedly touchscreen-enabled. However, they are useless for that purpose, probably because the material is too thick. If the built-in touchscreen stuff doesn't work, do you think the GloveTacts would have any chance of success?
Hi Simon,
These were the 2nd version of the GloveTacts - they worked well for about 3 weeks and then they came off.
They have since sent me the 3.0 version but I’ve not tested them properly yet to give any solid feedback
@@teapotone Thanks for the reply. Do the pads leave a sticky residue, if you remove them immediately? I was thinking of trying them out, but I don't want to leave any mark on the gloves in case I decide to return them.
My gloves were fine once the pad fell off
Not GloveTact related but just wondering what the thing is on the back of your glove.
That’s the VisorCat - I did a vid on it about 4yrs ago now I think.
Great bit of kit 👍
@@teapotone ah ok. Thanks for the reply and keep the awesome videos coming.
Alternatively you could start sewing very fine copper wires into a duck tape :9 Just joking, I wish here where a functional after market windscreen whiper, a rubber edge. Many manufacturers have that ( like Held, Rukka ans many others ) on your left index finger and I love that feature ! If there were some after market reeqip rubber edge that would work.. maybe some of you know something ?
There is, I’ve been using for daily for the last 4yrs - it’s called VisorCat
ua-cam.com/video/Ie7X5cafhyw/v-deo.html
they dont sell these anymore?
Yep, they’re now on version 3 I believe
amzn.to/3DbVGI7
Any update on these? Did they stay on the gloves for a while?
Hi Travis,
I did actually post about these across my social media, they lasted about 3 weeks and then came off in a heavy rainstorm.
I contacted the manufacturer to give them my feedback and they’ve since produced a new version of which I’ve not yet tested.
@@teapotone Thanks for the response and information! That's actually quite a bit better than I expected! May have to give them a shot (in lieu of _black_ conductive thread, as it seems difficult to find. Don't want silver lines in fingertips, ha. These may work.)
Thanks for this - The affiliate link is no longer valid as it is a no longer in stock item - After some searching there is a V3 out now which I have ordered although it is a bit expensive now £13.99
Yes the V3 is the latest version I believe. I had some issues with the earlier version (didn’t last too long in winter rain) and fed that back so hopefully the V3 is a man improvement
Why not use the nav 6 integrated to your whiz wheel?
Because it’s over £600! and then you’re limited to using it for everything, whereas I like to use Calimoto for my route planning and gps
@@teapotone what you didn't get one free with the new bike. I like to use Google maps for route planning and just send straight to the nav 6.
Nope. I’ve still got the Nav 5 I bought with my first GS back in 2017, don’t use it any more
Currently unavailable
Ive got the next generation of those gloves. And they’re touch sensitive.
Every vid you say the links are down below. I don’t see any links though so I cannot click and help you 🤔🤔
I am a techno phone though 😜
Click the description and everything is there 👍
Far too many notifications on your phone, that would drive me insane!
Thank you for posting. Just one gripe, but a doozy. How are we suppose to hack your phone if you pixelate the screen while entering your password? Really??? ;) Looking forward to seeing how long the product lasts. Even if it is only 6 months or so, it might be worth the expense. Thanks again.
Ha Ha there’s only pics of bikes and Joe Rogan podcasts on my phone anyway!!! 😂👍
@@teapotone FWY, I ordered them. Who knows how long they will take from the UK to the US, if they get here. Ordered something from ItchyBoots never made it. It reached my local post office and then it was returned. Who knows why. Had to reorder it. Made it the second time out.
Wow - sold out already and price is £19:95 ??
Hmmm currently unavailable.... nevermind.
Thanks but looks like they out of stock now😔
Sold out already :,(
Bugger. They are unavailable now.
They sold out on amazon 😒
Ah that’s a bugger! Sure they’ll restock very soon bud, there’s lots of other types available on the market though, just have a google 👍
A useful advert 😄
Can't get them anywhere 🤬
Well I didn`t have and power graphite - so I chopped off about 2 inchs of my carpentry pencil - took the lead out - ground it up in my mortar and pestle stone bowl to a powered ( washed it out with soapy water ) - mixed it with some Isopropanol - put my bike gloves on wet the fingers I wanted to use to control the phone - dried the glove finger tips with a hair dryer - about 2 mins - wiped the excess of on my old black jeans I am wearing ( a bit of black comes off) - and what do you know it my gloves work perfectly on my phone - excellent !!! what a cheap fix
Great idea, but Amazon can do one I'll not feed the beast. Still a lot of money considering all I need is a 1cm square for my left index finger... they are on ebay for £12.
I just cut (small cut) off the tip of one finger off my glove, works great.
They are out of stock. 😩
Hi, I did some posts later on social media about these - they didn’t last very long on the glove and didn’t always work
But Bruce, whose are those little baby soft hands 😂😂😂
Your mums 😉
Don’t bother, once out ruling government start charging us £1.50 a mile, nobody will be able to afford to ride anywhere
I don't have that problem, I use a garmin GPS and the phone stays in my inside pocket and not connected to my headset, as i don't want calls when i am riding
Then you don’t need them then Jamsie 🤷♂️ But many others, including myself, do 👍
