I recently purchased this bag as well. Been using it for the past 6 months or so to take to work daily and to travel with. It is the perfect size in my opinion - I carry a work iPad and a personal iPad, an Alpaka mini tech case with all of my EDC items and other assorted items easily. Only complaints are - no luggage handle strap, the shoulder strap is adequate, but not great (no swivel connection, limited padding and length), and there is not an internal organization panel for pens, small items, etc. None of those are deal breakers. If you want the perfect size sling that still looks professional (black color option) this is an excellent option.
That is one sweet bag! As a retired father of two, the oldest is my now 43 year old son, I wish we could of had one when they were little. That being said I think it would be fantastic for retired grandparents as well! Good stuff, thank you!
That's a great bag. I don't travel a lot but my preference has always been a backpack style bag, mainly the two straps are so much better for me. I find a single strap is uncomfortable or moves around a lot. I often end up walking long distances and the bag straps make a big difference for comfort and muscle fatigue. Having said that, that bag looks amazing. I do use a sling bag day-to-day so I am not opposed to a single strap but as soon as it becomes more than my daily essentials I find the two straps are much more comfortable.
The term you are looking for is MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment). Great video...I'm always looking for my next 'do-it-all' satchel! Have a great day.
I purchased an kislux bag in 2022, and I can confirm that it is very high quality. The owners were very nice, too! I may purchase another bag from them the next time!
I usually bring a backpack for my flights but this seem like such a great bag to have at the seat. Not too big and still gives you room. Will have to look at this for my next trip.
Nice review. I enjoyed it! As I'm +50 yo, slings/ messengers doesn't work for me anymore and i prefer backpacks. Last two Summers, traveled Europe for 3 weeks at a time with my wife and 2 young kids. This bag would have carried the daily essentials but it would have been too heavy for me after some excursions. I used a 9L Alpha One Niner sling/ messenger bag and it was manageable for me. But this 17L Topo would probably kill me. Lol. If i was just 20 years younger. Lol. Ill be checking out your other videos. This was a good intro to your channel for me. Thanks.
+1 for anything made by Greenroom136! Ive never owned one myself but I talked by brother in law to get one as a sling for a moped/scooter bag and he loves it.
The variety of textures in the kislux bags is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there is something for everyone. I was also attracted by it. The price is not expensive, which is very attractive!
Wow mate, great find with this bag. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that seems like it would be a better personal item companion on a flight with multiple kids.
Looks like a great flight bag/personal item bag so you can keep your carryon in the overhead compartment. I carried a tote and had smaller reusable ziplock bags with me to Thailand and have been on the search for travel only bag like this. Thank you for the review.
Got stopped and had my back pack (GoRuck GR1) searched at second Lima for my Victorinox Jetsetter. First time in 5 years of travel. Great video, I’m going to snag one of these.
Hi Marcus: 2 presents. For hubby this holiday the baseball cap and the bag - you are officially my go to source for man-presents!!! As for the bag lets make thatn2!
I’ve never heard of this brand. Nice intro. I’m always struggling with the right size “personal item.” I usually do a Bellroy 20L for 1 bag carry and a Tomtoc 1.5L sling as my pull out with all my entertainment and essentials for the flight. MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) we love our acronyms in the military.
@ I’d love to hear more about your Ireland real estate journey. My wife apparently has some opportunity via Grandmother’s birth and heritage in County Tipperary.
TOPO makes really great bags. Very durable, great materials, and big chunky zippers. Their small accessory bags are so cool, like the taco and the square bag. I have too many of them lol
I love my 7 L Tomtoc T-21 sling! I am travelling abroad and carry my notebook, a tablet, battery pack, glasses, passport, tissues, travel documents, headlamp... I have all I need when walking around... Along with an eSIM plan, I can share my internet data with my tablet and have larger views in Google Maps... highly recommend a Tomtoc sling !
i’m a flight attendant and I bought this bag when it first came out in black. I used it on one trip and I didn’t like it but after watching this video I’m gonna pull it out again and try it pack it at the way you did. Thanks for the video.
Great video. And the bag looks really interesting. I really like what Topo design is making and I kinda regret selling my 40l travel bag. Keep up the good work. Hope you can come to my podcast as a guest next year
I know that Dsptch sells luggage straps. Their size A is .5" shorter than the bag, but might do the trick. Keep in mind that the loops sit low on the bag, so it might be unstable when used on your luggage. Might be worth a try.
I am 37, work hard, love fashion but I can't afford luxury. Last year I found out about kislux where I bought a real leather Fendigraphy for about ?50 (more than I usually spend)... I love it so much and it makes me feel good... I don't show off it's fake but anyone who knows me and knows the prices of Fendi knows it's not real... Maybe one day I will own a real Fendigraphy but for me I am happy with my fudge
Great video Marcus! I like the look of this bag. Wish they had something in the 25L size. Next size up is 30L backpack I believe but I like this style more.
Your complaint about missing strap for attaching bag to suite case handle. The top handle of the bag should be big enough to fit over it. Otherwise great review. Would recomend also displaying carry options with the shoulder straps.
The short handles are sufficient if the carry on suitcase is a hardshell that has a flat top you can sit the bag on. Once there is a slant, or the suitcase is soft shell and especially if the fabric is slippery, it is too common for the bag to slip off at an awkward angle. And if the suitcase is 2-wheeled, the bag would most likely slip to face the other side. I’ve had that experience towing a Longchamp Le Pliage short handle tote with a 2-wheel roller.
Hey @Marcus ! Thanks for the great review. I'm just disapointed that Topo's website is sold out. I tried reaching them but I've got no reply yet. Can't wait for your next video.
I am thinking about it. I hope they give you an affiliate link. Have you tagged them in this video and on other media? I have diabetes supplies and two laptops and one iPad. Plus a bunch of smaller tech accessories.
Perception is everything, I remember saving up for my first LV and some coworkers automatically thought it was fake because I was a young black girl. At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in kislux . If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermes, no one will question you.
Great video Marcus - thanks for sharing. I started jounalling after watching your morning pages video. How are you getting on with the Hollyland Lark microphones? I am looking to upgrade from my £25 no-name ones to something better...
New subscriber to the channel. Sorry for being late with a comment to this video. Sorry to hear that Topo didn't reach out to you. Their loss! MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment) is the term of these loops. But I'm not an expert. I just find it very useful on my workbag :) I don't have kids myself - yet - (I hear it's a wonderful adventure, from my brother) but I do know that if you ask the flight attendants (NOT Stewardess) if they have anything for the kids, they are more than happy to accommodate your wishes, mostly in the form of colored pens, drawing books, coloring books, LEGO toys and so on, depending on what is in stock for the flight. FYI my brother's fiancé is a former flight attendant. I look forward to see more content from you :)
Unfortunately 5 weeks after this was posted as best as I can determine, Topo Designs has deleted this product (no mention on website) and stocks seem to have sold out everywhere. Would love to be corrected, or advised where the Mountain Cross can be purchased? 🙏
I had this bag and also Topo's Global Briefcase and I got rid of this one. The measurements are off between this one and the Global Briefcase. On their website this Mountain Cross Bag claims to have 17L of volume, while the Global Briefcase has 14L capacity. Strangely, their dimensions are EXACTLY the same. When I complained to them, they said that the GB is more padded. However, I was able to put MORE stuff in the GB than I could in the MCB. The MCB with all its content also fits INSIDE the GB. Topo's explanation was far from satisfactory. While I love Topo's design, volume-wise the GB wins. On another side, from that point on I opted for different brands as their accuracy in measuring bags (which is very important to me) is unreliable. Glad that you have a positive experience with the MCB!
I have a Chanel lambskin square pearl bag and a Chanel handbag but my lambskin square petal bag I have worn 2 times and I am very careful but somehow still has small scratches on the leather and the gold on the clasp. I donât know what happened but I paid over $3,000 for it a few years ago and I am upset that it already has scratches. No one notices now but I notice the price I paid for it. Iâm saving up to buy another kislux bag now that I wonât be paying full price anymore.
Do you live in the U.S. and Ireland, both or have you move back from the U.S. to Ireland? Have you ever done a video on the best and worst of both countries? If not, that would be interesting.
Very nice review, thanks a lot. I use several bags like yours every day (but smaller ones), so the problem i would have with this large bag is it's weight. I know it's very uncomfortable to carry weights (even with my much smaller bags up to 6 liters) with you like that (on one side - my back hurts after one hour). Why don't you use a backpack instead? Wouldn't that be better? There are backpacks with the same amount of space etc. (like the ones from CabinZero, for example) but with more (healthy ^^) comfort ... The only advantage of slings i see is that you don't sweat so heavy with them, you can keep your back dry.
Backpacks work better than shoulder and other bags as the equipment list gets longer. It's simply the comfort thing. A well adjusted backpack that is fit to your body can carry a quarter of your body weight without slowing you down or making you uncomfortable. I routinely drag as much as 40 pounds over 12 miles without having sore shoulders, back, or neck (okay, I'm getting older; sometimes I get sore now). Shoulder bags are like golf bags used to be: they put asymmetrical force on your body, and ultimately that means aches and pains. If you're out for shorter times with only a small list of items, sure, it might work fine to use a good shoulder bag, but as those things get added to, beware the dreaded strap fatigue.
A very insightful video itâs interesting how sometimes people buy replicas and then pretend they are the real thing, which in a way feeds into that sense of exclusivity that discourages people from buying the real thing in the first kislux ! What an interesting topic! I used to buy fake stuff in high school because I simply couldn't afford what I wanted. It's desirable, and if I can get what I want from a kislux for a few dozen bucks, sure, why not?

This isn't quite what I was thinking when I think of the 'greatest travel bag of all time.' I think I was expecting a bag suitable for all types of travel in a more traditional sense. Something that could hold about a week of clothes, some shoes, toiletries that would work for traveling everywhere. This isn't quite that. This is a personal item (but I'd argue not the most optimized), and I think there are better options for that category. Anyway I'm getting grilled but honestly I was actually expecting "greatest travel bag of all time!!!!!!!!!!" to be like an actual bag used for all countries, all airlines, enough for 1-2 weeks, all destinations, and carrying clothes. This isn't it.
My thought is that rich people are often rich because they invest and spend their money wisely, and buying a Chanel bag is not a wise move. I know I'm not rich enough, but my assets are enough that I can easily buy luxury goods in kislux

Anyone know the brand of the eye mask? At 6:22
Sarisun travel pillows for airplanes on Amazon ~$20 USD

No idea what currency you are showing for this bag because it’s at least 4 times the price in America

Great video! Thank you for your sharing. This is the size that I searched for long time.
have you tried Mac 15 "Air?
Bought one thanks to this video. It’s filled a major gap in my carrying that I hadn’t realized I possessed.
