A lot of people who've been to university or Bible college despise those who haven't been either because they weren't considered smart enough or they chose not to go. You can't get the anointing by getting education
I currently have an educated pastor trying to condemn me, because I simply keep going back to what the Word of God tells us. He's upset toward me because I was basically telling him what Mark Driscoll here is saying. I even wrote out what I had been hearing through reading the entire new testament, in a Bible I bought with large margins. I simply went off of only what was being presented to me in the text .it was one of the greatest journeys I have ever had because, having the Word of God come alive, is the greatest thing.
@@smokyquartz5817 I really wonder if it is true, or rather, he simply didn't "get with the program". I know from personal experience, that one can be abandoned or cast away, simply because they love Jesus and it doesn't go with a particular denominational tradition.
@@smokyquartz5817 what's interesting, is that in the western religious church, you get hunted down if you truly believe what the Word of God actually teaches, but, if you go to other countries, where the charismatic church is multiplying, there is a lot of love and acceptance. The same pastor I talked about earlier is hunting after me. He literally said, "you could be a mighty man of God, but you won't listen to me". If only he considered what he just said. I am a man of God, which is why I don't listen to his jibberish
Thank you Mark and Amen! I was born again at 23, I had the best bible teachers known to our present world. I was not able to go to college or seminary but God did anoint me and call me. Two churches saw that anointing and I was made pastor over their churches. Today, few churches understand the call and anointing of God on a persons life, but being businesses look for education as the evidence of spiritual success. Today, I am hoping to find a congregation who looks outside of the worldly education box and put my anointing and call back in service. His will be done. 🙏🙏🙏
One of the biggest topics that I think we don’t talk enough about is the “anointing” and the significance of its evolvement within the church. Awesome short greatly appreciate the reminder.
Biggest thing I see with “leaders” in the church is their affinity for titles. They always love to introduce themselves with their title. “Reverend, Pastor, Elder, Father, Doctor”. I never see that anywhere in the Bible.
Hi Mark from Australia, loving the content and sharing it with others, there's a lack of sound teaching to be godly men and you are addressing that gap. Be blessed
The 'pastor' that encouraged my ex wife to divorce me has an impressive education, phd, and has been trying to work himself between my kids and I. He's also divorced. Great point here.
@@smokyquartz5817 not sure what the real reason is. It changed/was added to over the course of the divorce. I know an evangelist who despises pastor driscoll. He once told me I need to get off my farm and go out and experience the world. I never thought I would hear this from a pastor/evangelist. It's a strange world we live in.
I've taken 2 bible college courses and would gladly take some Holy Ghost revelation (with the scriptures ) any day over what man says about the Bible. I'm not against education but I can see how man has inserted his point of view in scripture instead taking the bible for what it says. Especially when it comes to the supernatural. And they think they are right because they are "educated." Ive also seen these types use their status to elevate themselves above the congregation that they are entrusted with instead of being a servant of all in humility. I've met two that are servants instead of lords over their people. God is not pleased.
I see Mark's point. I would also argue that Christian education is only effective and worthwhile if the learner is seeking to use it to help and build up the body of Christ. If the learner is not using their education to help and build up the body, then it is essentially a waste. It's about being a good steward with what God allows the learner to receive.
The Rev. William Cunningham taught introductory classes to ministry students for the Free Church of Scotland, in its early days (ca 1843-4). His Theological Lectures are still in print. He set a high standard for academic achievement, particularly for the learning of the original languages of the Bible. In his first six lectures (at least) he placed great emphasis on the need for the young men presenting themselves as candidates for the Christian ministry to be born again and to be much in prayer as they read the Word of God. Cunningham knew what it was to be an unconverted ministry student. When Cunningham came under conviction of sin, no minister of the Church of Scotland in Edinburgh was able to tell him what he must do to be saved. These men did not even understand the question. The preaching of the Rev. Robert Gordon (himself formerly an unconverted minister) brought Cunningham to a right understanding of the Gospel.
But first off, how do you know you're anointed? All I get is more and more signs, and there seems to be a call that I am being served with. A prophetic pastor once told me I could ask and would be granted. I have no idea what this means, but he felt so strongly about this.
Well, the Pharisees were the educated ones, the fishermen not. Matthew 13:54 New King James Version 54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?...."

Unfortunately the church of today correlates the sheep skin in the hand as the same as the anointing of the Holy Spirit in the man. Would hate to know how many pastors, who sit over congregation, that do not even know Jesus as savior. But they have a degree! What did Jesus say? In that day there will be those who cry out to Me Lord Lord did we not prophecy in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, heal sick in Your name and then I will say to them, depart from me because I never knew you. How many of these lead our churches and we wonder why there is no movement of the Holy Spirit with in the body of Christ the church.
I think a.w. tozer didn't go to college either. God picks who he wants to do things in his kingdom and teaches them. We see this through the Bible and history.
The next time someone thinks having a college degree for your career is a waste of time then ask yourself, would I let a doctor with a high school education do surgery on me? I’d love to know what some here think!
Universities are indoctrination schools that tell you how to think. They have been totally infiltrated by the devil. You are not allowed any independent thought or opposition to any of their teachings. God bless
@Mopar66-is1ws So apparently you missed the whole point huh? You’re probably in college or went to college and still didn’t get the point. Thank you for using yourself as an example as to how going to college doesn’t make you a smart person.
I don't think people are implying that a college degree is a waste of time per se. But choosing to acknowledge that it isn't the only way to achieve a goal that you are trying to reach in life. It really isn't for everyone. And people shouldn't feel bad about themselves if they don't have a college degree. Nor should someone look down on others if they have a college degree/degrees. Now, choose to have a blessed evening. THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH. AMEN. ❤❤❤
@SleepyJoe408 to answer your question I’m 40 years old, been a vintage car builder for 23 years and there was no college in my area for what I do. All self taught and learned from mistakes. Anything else you’d like to know?
You don’t need semen to become a pastor. There is a reason that word “seminary” is used just like we have eggs and bunnies at Easter. It’s about occult fertility rites.
What a lame comparison. For every Stalin, who didn't know the Holy Spirit, there are perhaps millions and millions who did "attend" and who are known and who are faithful to the Word of God. Besides, the Holy Spirit (who BTW anoints and indwells every believer from the moment of their conversion) doesn't "by pass" anything when he chooses to equip his saints. Despite what Mr. Driscoll says, this is nothing more than anti-intellectualism masquerading as wise counsel. For the word of God expressly says that our worship and service of the triune God is to involve the whole man - that also includes the mind as well as the heart acting in unison and in balance. In other words, what Mr. Driscoll posits here is an either/or proposition rather than what is biblically warranted - a both/and.
The fact that the bible was written in many languages other than English tells me that education is important. The Word of God is how we test the spirits. It is important we get it right. God will definitely reveal his will and intent to any of us. But many have been led astray with subtle deceptions in interpretations of the bible.
So was Billy Graham...did the handshake all the time. Also birds of a feather, fly and flock together. Look at who he used to meet with. We exposed him on truth social.
