    Nice job .
I have questions , the K bus and k-can bus are the same ?
K bus have one wire ? The signal voltgate of it is the battery voltage???? That seems odd!!

How did you know the cluster was the gateway?
    Awesome video

Looking at the diagram, the diagnostic line between the scan tool and the network did not directly connect to any networks and went directly to the cluster indicating this is the gateway on this vehicle connecting Communication buses. Hope this helps

So what does it mean if I'm told that "K bus monitors need to be reconnected". I have the opportunity to buy a Cooper S and the current owner is telling me this is an issue.

    Hi everyone,
I've been trying to search out this problem but I can't seem to find anyone who has had all the symptoms I'm having at the same time. So I have a 2006 base Mini Cooper and the EP light continues to flash on and off and when this happens the car randomly shifts gears and most of the time it seems to down shift because the RPMs go up. On top of that the temperature gauge needle will go all the way to the top as if indicating the car is overheating though it is not. Also the tachometer and all the lights on it (check engine and brake) will go completely dead. The speedometer will also die too. Also a number of warning lights will come on and some seem to stay on permanently, like tire pressure sensor, while others just flash on temporarily. This happens for a couple seconds at a time and then things just go back to normal, but things like the check engine light and tire pressure light stay on. This used to be a sporadic occurrence, but now I can't even drive the car because it just keeps bucking so much from the random shifting it's doing. It's almost like the car is possessed. Has anyone ever encountered anything like this. Thanks

hello mate. what you've wrote sounds exactly like what I have right now. did you find a resolve? ive heard it could be a short in the wiring somewhere or an issue with the bcm but have yet to resolve. Did you fix this yet

@@chrismarkwick1761 on my Mini it ended up being a pigtail on the rear bumper/valance. The pigtail got loose and rested on the exhaust, melted both K wires to the bulb ground. Probe the k circuit to see if it has direct ground or Bat+. Trace from there.
