One day I was trying on an old shirt to see if it still fit me, it was a bit tight and I asked my mom “Does it look too tight?” And she said “Yes, and your chest looks flat” She meant it as a bad thing cause she doesn’t want me to “hide my chest” but I was happy cause that means my binder is working haha

Buying men's underwear was the easiest part of my transition because a couple of years before I realised I was transgender my mom bought me a pair of men's boxer briefs as a joke (idk why) and said that I at least could wear them at night. After wearing them a couple of times I started to really like them and asked my mum to buy another pair and since then I've only wore boxer briefs.

*Thank you.*
Far too many people neglect to mention how *not* to bind.
I totally understand the desperation behind binding, but it is not worth permanently damaging your body in the pursuit of a streamlined chest.
Thanks Jamie. This really does help since I mean, I'm a 12 year old at an all girls Catholic school and when I leave I need to be prepared. This means a lot, so thanks.
Sadistic Goat stay strong my friend!
All the best !
You probably won’t need all this advice when you grow older. Trans at 12? Eh, unlikely. You do you, but don’t make choices you’ll regret later on. I had a similar case when I was a little around your age. You’re probably just very tomboyish, or going through puberty, which means lots of changes in mind and body. You might feel out of the box now, or believe you’re, uh, trans or any other gender the Internet provides, but give it a few years, you’ll look back and be surprised at how much you’ve changed, or cringe at your past beliefs and/or watch history...
Consider coming back here when you’re older, when your brain is more stable, or something of the sort. In any case, good luck. :P
@@cyrrender Just because this happened with you doesn't mean that this applies to everyone. Even if you don't believe they are trans at least be respectful and keep your opinion to yourself. Many trans people know from a young age but even if they are a trender or just confused it's doesn't mean you have the right to be rude to a child you dont know over the internet
Amy Patterson Now now, where did I disrespect them or be rude? I was just advising them. Children shouldn’t exactly be on the Internet nonetheless, but I guess it’s normal to be now. People younger than 14 tend to be easily influenced by things on the net, and they themselves start believing in things that aren’t really...
Alright, I feel like if I go on it’ll lead to misunderstandings. I meant no harm, I was just giving advice. Adolescence is a period of tremendous change, after all, and constant change, that is.
I have to add, I'm overweight FTM, and since you can't see my "package" anyways, I choose not to pack, I have enough "down there" to make it look like I have a package anyways. Slim trans have different issues than "fluffy" FTM's, and I actually had to go find my "niche" in the online community for "hefty FTM's" and have found lots of support if there's anyone out there who needs any sort of that support (By no means am I trying to offend you or any slimmer individuals, but there's a whole other set of issues being overweight with surgeries, prosthetics, binders and such.) HUGS to you Jammie, and thank you for this video!!
This may sound stupid but it's so reassuring to see that there are other "fluffy" FTM's like me
@@ghostpandatwin2054 We're a bit harder to find, but LOTS of support, extra care tips, and places to find larger sized stuff to help with transition :) I like any fluffy/hefty channels as well to gather some extra resources and info.

Also : you probably wont be able to find gc2b bimders in your size (at least I dont) but underworks has a larger selection of sizes. Oh, and long briefs (like the "im an old brit dude" underwear") often are better for larger people cause they dont cling to the thigh at all and often come in larger sizes (i got charles wilson ones from amazon, 6 for like 15€ and that's cheap af for the quality) !
Also you may want to get a longer binder because tri tops binders tend to roll up the chest when you've got a bigger stomach, so it's going to hide better + it also hides the hips a bit !!
OK this might sound weird but I'm a 67 year old straight Gramma and I came upon Jaime and his transition vids a couple of months ago. It is April 2021 now. I've got to say, I love this man!! He is so much more confident than in his first vids. I haven't watched every one but enough to know way more about the trans community ( I don't know if I said that right???) than I knew before watching him and his journey. He is a real man with real feelings and is now in his authentic skin. luv him!!
My only problem with boxers is that I'm constantly running out of them. So when my dad says "why do you need another couple pairs, I just bought you some" I have to explain that it's because satans sacrificial waterfall comes at the worst times and likes to ruin them.
Elijah Mortensan hey, if you get to them intime and rinse them with cold water, it works really well.
I wear tampons and also (sadly) just wear girl's underwear during that week.
Hey! Some advice is wear pad-holding or underwear you're not afraid to get messy, then put some boxers on top of that!
Wearing black boxers would reduce stains if that’s your problem. (Thats probably obvious and if you already do that then why does it still cause you problems?)
I've only got 3 pairs and I'm scared to ask for more tbh. I've done a bleed in two of them but they're ok.
I’m a transgender male and I went to the store to buy boxers and felt kinda awkward buying them. When I tried them on they felt so weird. They’re tight around my thighs since I have big thighs and hips, which really suck for me since I want to be seen as male. But I do feel really confident and happy in my boxers and I love it
Ok, amab here, I have very big thighs and hips, have had comments on having "a fat ass", and still seem like a cis guy in spite of it all. I haven't started any HRT or the like, so you're probably being more conscious about it than you need to, my friend.

Hello! Fellow trans guy here. Just adding to the binder safety stuff, I was told by my social worker that after taking off the binder, you should lean over an cough super hard. Idk the science, but apparently it reduces some of the safety dangers
arch your back or hunch over ?
@@galaxychill9578 Being only an engineering student, I have a limited base of body mechanics, but here's my thoughts.
probably tummy inward, going more towards pike rather than hollow position, like an old man hunching over.
My reasoning: doing so makes it easier for your diaphram to push the air out with a full cough rather than a stifled one when leaning back and this is a prosition coughing usually puts one in anyways.
Now, for my theory behind the cough itself : I'm gonna guess one coughs to loosen up any locked muscles to then open up freely once again when you breath in.

Packer hack: if you have an extra small mr. limpy, you can stick it in a sock and pin the sock to the waistband of your underwear. I usually cut out a hole for the actual shaft part to stick out so i can adjust it better, and i cut off the heel so its easier to pin. Tomboyx underwear is great.
Looks like male undies but fit the female form.
I had a hard time getting well fitting boxer shorts but managed; j.crew used to make great ones, GAP also has some (but sold as PJ bottoms).
My beef with the men's undies is that the waistband ends up way too high on my stomach. Or the crotch part hangs halfway to my knees =/
Although now they make those "gay undies" (those micro briefs first showed up in gay stores, about 10 years ago tops) so you can go with those. Even companies like fruit of the loom make "low waistline" boxerbriefs now.

@@Rachel-fi4sc I'll continue to do my best, everyone deserves respect and understanding no matter where they are and I want to try and make sure that always happenes no matter where I work. I had one experience where I was helping a person who was mid-transition while they were in my fittingroom and I felt horrible as other employees in our store want to "get a look at them". I kept my girls busy keeping those other associates at bay but I wished I could have done more. I never saw that person again and I'm sure it's because of that incident, I'll always feel so horrible about it.
I hope you never have a bad experience ever again and always feel safe and happy no matter where you go ❤
@@bunnyday1473 That sounds like an awful, awkward situation! Thank you for doing something to keep that person safe.
Hindsight is always 20/20, and it's much easier to come up with ideas when separate from the stressful incident, but if something like that ever happens again, would a threat of calling store security on the associates work? Because, that sort of behaviour is 110% not on, and there might be a good legal case for them a) acting inappropriately toward / perving on a customer, and b) misusing their privilege as employees to do so.
@@Rachel-fi4sc honestly, it's something I would consider, sometimes you've just got to do something a bit more drastic when people don't listen and respect others. It's sad but it is what it is. I'm trans but no matter what I do I can't to pass as male in public because I have naturally massive hips and there's nothing I can do about it.
Me too, it's terrible. It makes trying to find underwear/trousers that fit an absolute nightmare. (Waist size fits, but it'll never get over the hips....or fits around the hips but it's so loose at the waist you can fit a battleship down your pants. sigh)
Would gaining muscle in your top half help balance it out at all? Or at least make your hips less obvious?
I find large shirts and sweatshirts help hide curves
pro tip: in order to conceal a fleshy bulk, you actually wanna have the garment fit that area well, and then add more clothing bulk to the neighboring narrower body area!!! basically, its counterintuitive to add extra bulk to a zone you wish to de-bulk, so instead widen out your narrower zones to make your wide zones appear less wide by comparison! example: get pants that fit you perfectly at the waist to thigh zone with a straight/wide leg. also, upper body bulk is your friend!! tops and jackets with extra detailing on the shoulder area will add visual mass to that area and draw the eyes upwards (if you do that and add visual interest to the footwear department it can help make ya look taller too apparently)!

@Cam Morrison Jamie was born in the wrong body. He wasnt the gender he was assigned at birth. Biological sex and gender are two seperate things. Why is it so hard for boomers to understand that?
@Cam Morrison *bisexual man
My boyfriend used briefs for packing but his new favorite is boxer jock from under armour. He likes his a little snug so things dont shift around on their own. He recently got a new multipurpose packer and started using a harness. Binding sucks especially for those with large chest. Wish the USA would wise up and make it so he could get at least top surgery. No way we can afford it on our own.
Great video. It would have been interesting to see you with a packer in each underwear style.
Since I'm unable to get boxers, I get female boy shorts, which can basically work as boxers but the female version. And since I'm relatively small, I have ones in a girl's large and others in a women's small. The women's small look more like boxers since they fit longer on me and have the gap like boxers do. I also still have my cycle, so the smaller ones work better for that since they fit more like girls' underpants
