Today, I gave my daughter Bella the ultimate Yes Day, where she got to call all the shots! From fun activities to a surprise tattoo (without Mom’s permission 😬), Bella’s reactions were priceless! Watch how she handled this epic day and see what Mom had to say when she found out!

I agree, he made the decision right then and there and obviously he and Crystal heve talked about it at some time before. Look at it this way, this was a parent contolled event, Bella could have gotten a fake ID or gone to a shady tattoo joint to get a tattoo on some part of her body that noone can see, but she did not.
I would normally agree that parents should discuss these kinds of decisions together first, but Crystal does stuff all the time without discussing it with Aaron first. ALL. THE. TIME.

This day will be such a special day for both. She was going to get a tattoo with or without her parents but the fact that her dad went and took her is very special

I'm LDS, too, and what Aaron said is exactly how I feel about tattoos. I designed mine, and the artist just enhanced it. It was such a great bonding experience for Aaron and Bella.
Bella, check out the US Navy, too!! My niece wanted to be a nurse in the US Army, but that program never opened up for her, so she had to become a cook. So, be careful about what they offer you.
Definitely navy, opportunities are there and you can get into a field where you can make a lot of money after you get out.
Tattoos are a form of expression and I think it's awesome that Aaron and Bella will always have the memory of getting their 1st Tattoos together. They both look great!
This is a core memory she will cherish forever, knowing that she will carry her adoption date everywhere knowing she found her forever family; while watching her dad get one as well. She will always tell this story to her future family! Crystals reaction to both was honestly something I expected! This was a beautiful yes day!
yes. I must say though, Crystal didn't get outwardly 'mad' (at least not on camera). she was shocked and that's fair. She could have done/said many other things. No she wasn't positive or encouraging, but she wasn't mean or insulting either. I wouldn't expect positive and encouraging given that they had agreed that Bella would wait till she's 18. I completely agree with Aaron and Bella getting the tats.... I'm just saying , I was kinda not mad at Crystal's reaction. I think she did her best given that she was on camera at that moment.

I love the teaching moment you had on the camera with us all . Tattoos are something people love or hate . It's hard to find an in-between for some folks. So I love how open minded you are and not afraid to show it! I love my tattoos ❤️ they all mean something to me .
I Like Tattoos (have one so far), and it has deep meaning... I think some folks Go Way overboard with the Amount and then if they don't have a Deep Meaning; But everyone owns their own bodies so...
Congrats on the tats, they can be addicting :) Aaron, I took my oldest son at 17 to get his 1st tat and I got my second one at the same time, he has way more than me now as he is 37, but he still says his 1st is his fav because of the memory of getting it with me. This is something Bella will remember forever. Great job dad!! I know Crystal is a bit upset about this, but hopefully she gets over it and realizes this is something special that you and Bella did together, it was not to upset her, it was something meaningful for dad and daughter. Crystal, if you are reading this, you have so many moments with the teen girls that they enjoy and will remember, it is harder to make those lasting memories between teen daughters and their dads. I think what Aaron did with and for Bella was amazing, he asked her questions about the why and he gave her what way too many dads don't give their teen girls, his support in her choices, and from the bits and pieces y'all share about Bella's childhood, I think by Aaron being the one to do this with her gave her something that she was missing, you have taken her to get her piercings, you take her shopping and do things with her that she needed from a mom, she needed this from her dad. so again, Great job Aaron!

Yup I’m 18 with 2 tats my mom let me get mine at 15 and 16. I want more but the prices of tattoos are insane and I want to wait till after I graduate with my masters degree and have a job to get more tats because some jobs do still discriminate against tats and I would want a sleeve. ❤ my mom is like halfway done with her sleeve and she has many tats lol

I had my first tattoo at 54 (which is my age now!). I felt that I couldn't out of respect I couldn't get one whilst my mum was alive as she would have gone completely mad 😂. Mum passed away suddenly last year, so I had my tattoo saying love you to the Moon and back which a picture of a moon with stars. The saying meant a lot. It didn't hurt, so I will have another! 😅

I been watching u for years and never knew u was Mormon. I grew up in Utah and wasn’t Mormon and had a terrible time in school because friends wasn’t allowed to come play at my house because my family wasn’t Mormon. I’m so glad to see a family like yours that is Mormon that gives me a different outlook on that religion because my interaction with that religion has always been a sad one… what a great memory she will always hold with her dad they did that together she will never forget it!
I’m sorry for your experience. Unfortunately that was a very common scenario. I hope it’s not anymore. 😢 I grew up in Utah and am Mormon and my best friend growing up was not Mormon. I was never told I was not allowed to play with her. That’s how it should be. Who cares? My daughter’s bff is also not the same religion as us. Sometimes her friend goes to church with us, sometimes my daughter goes to church with her.

@@santiedormehl3042how was it disrespectful? Bella is going to be 18 in a few months. By then she’ll be off at boot camp. And when you’re at boot camp you can’t just go off base and get a tattoo. You can’t just go off base for really any reason unless it’s family related and a life or death situation. So she won’t be able to do it then. This way she was able to have this special time with her dad. Time that a lot of kids her age don’t get to have. I would’ve loved to have had a dad to have this kind of time with. Instead I got deal a crappy hand with one who I was relieved that he passed away when I was 13.

ya she prob should have, but Bella's only a few months away from being able to do it herself, so really it didn't make any difference, and it created a beautiful bonding moment between Aaron and Bella
I think it's wonderful that she went with Aaron. Crystal has taken Bella for many first. I believe Aaron needed this. It truly was a bonding experience between the two of them. I love Bella's design because I love butterflies. I really didn't get a close look at Aaron's but it was sweet❤😊😊

Why did Aaron putting gas in Bella’s car make me wanna cry.. Dad Goals! It will be hard for Bella to settle for anything less than amazing after how much love you guys give her.
I know it made me want to cry. My dad always put gas in my car if he visited me or if I visited home. He was a very large tall man and once in an ice storm he took my car and had to open the sun roof to drive with the top of his head out. I had no idea he was gone and he came back with his head all RED and cold.
If Bella wants to talk about the military please contact us. We can go through all the good bad and ugly. Not the dishonest of recruiters, my husband use to work recruiting office Phoenix. He was not a recruiter but still active duty. My husband is retired ARMY. He will say go airforce. He also can help you with talking to recruiters etc.

I am just so proud watching this young lady grow up. I know Mom and Dad are certainly going through the "growing pains" of having you make a military choice.
As a military mom. All my children joined. My son is career Army and my daughter's both serve in the Air Force. But honestly as a parent there is no prouder moment than to watch your child graduate boot camp. It is something that makes my heart just burst with pride knowing the children I raised didn't give it a second thought to sign and take that oath for their country. They also used their G.I. bill to pay for college.
You will go so very far Bella. Just keep being your best you❤

My dad was my BFF. Even after I married, dad loved my husband dearly! Many times, dad would thank him for taking care of me! My precious dad went to heaven July 13, 2023. My world was crushed!
I’ve always wanted a tattoo, but could never decide what I wanted. When I turned 60, the November after Dads death, I told my husband that I found the tattoo I wanted, and wanted it for my bday! I had found a beautiful memorial tattoo that was perfect to remember my dad! It included his birth and death dates, a heart, the beating line of the heart, and the cross at the end. My dad was a pastor my entire life, actually preaching 3wks before his death. Adding the cross, paid homage to his being a pastor, and knowing he’s in heaven, happy and healthy!

This absolutely warmed my heart. I grew up in foster care and was finally put with a good forever family. My adoption wouldn’t happen until I was 18 and the state I live in there is no loophole. I will change my name but I decided to get a tattoo of the day I met my mom. As well as the date i met my dad (two different dates months apart) I meant a lot to me when my mom and dad got the dates tattooed on them two. I always dreamed of being adopted and was devastated when I couldn’t be. My mom and dad knew this and that’s why they got the tattoos, as well above it says “Forever in our hearts” because the moment they found out i couldn’t be adopted they told me i was forever adopted in their hearts.

Aaron is such a great parent. I feel like even if he doesn’t 100% agree with a decision the kids make, he’s still always going to be there supporting them and ensuring they make the safest decisions possible with as much clarity to the situation as he can offer.

Bella is an amazing person, she had grow up fast to parent her brothers from an early age. It being something she thought about for 2 years means it was not some spur of the moment decision. Good on Aaron for giving his daughter this beautiful memory and trusting her to make her own choices. If she can choose to be in the military, a huge commitment, I think she should be allowed to make this big commitment as well.

I'm 51 and I got my first tattoos this past summer. And they mean so much to me. I feel if you going to get one it should have meaning. I love them. Bella and Aaron did them for the right reason. When I look at them it brings me happiness.

Lovely seeing Aaron spending bonding time with Bella, then turning it to a yes day. Subway, Target, then Bella brings up her wanting a tattoo. Bella had not realised it was a yes day, but he agreed to go talk to the tattooist, even knowing Crystal would not be too happy. Good on you Aaron for following through with allowing Bella to get her tattoo, also on getting one with a heart and Crystal's name in the design too. This is literally the best day! Aaron, since you have broken the barrier between you and tattoos, what about getting everyone to write the first initial of their name in their favorite way to write it (cursive, extra fancy, super neat, etc) and you can have it shaped into a puzzle piece. If you don’t want letters, you can do hearts, or whatever you guys think will mean the most to you! Love ya’ll!!
