    For those who aren't familiar with some aspects of Japanese culture. Vocaloid is actually a voice synthesizing software, with twin tails on the cover just being a made up idol they created to market the product. Chanko, the box with the Sumo Wrestler on it, is short for Chankonabe (sumo stew). It's the stew fed to sumo wrestlers (along with a whole bunch of rice) to make them so big and strong.

      I think most people who watches videos about vloggers eatjng self eating bentos on a Shinkansen would know who Hatsune Miku is.

    • @lapis8183
      @lapis8183 Рік тому +42

      Miku is a type of vocaloid, one singer from the selection, every singer has it's own avatars but Miku is the most popular and was one of the first to be created, she's not really a made up idol anymore, since she actually became a virtual idol holding actual concerts and stuff, not just a face

    🍱 There is an Aluminum foil pouch contained inside the Ekiben, under the food compartment. Pulling the activation string removes a separation strip that enables subcompartments containing Magnesium and Calcium Oxide to mix with Water inside the pouch. This starts a chemical reaction and the resulting heat transference warms up the meal. After approximately five minutes of warming, the meal is ready to be consumed. 🍱

    • @P747
      @P747 Рік тому +8

      Aha ok, thanks for the explanation. 😀 Everytime I see a Bacon video with these self heating boxes and pouches I wonder how long it will take before other countries start using these, and especially my country here in Sweden. They really seem to be conveinent as there are no need for fire or gas to heat a meal or drink.

    I only have 800 subs, so I'm trying to work harder and harder to earn those subscribers. But the process is enjoyable and my only regret at the moment is I wish I had more time to make more videos. I've tried it only once because i've not been able to find where I live. I had it as a barbecue skewer very thinly sliced and tender I also tried chicken heart skewers. Both the beef tongue and the chicken heart were actually very tasty. The beef tongue is tender and doesn't have a strong beef taste. The chicken hearts don't actually taste like chicken at all they tasted more like a red meat like beef to me and they were also tender not chewy at all and i had expected it to perhaps have a weird snap when biting into it but they didn't, the texture is not like chicken meat but more like a tender cut of beef combined with the texture of a meat pate. I have never seen chicken heart or beef tongue at grocery stores where i live and i think people ought to give it a try. Some organ meat can be delicious if prepared correctly and it is also cheap to buy because often it is very overlooked and seen only as scrap for making stocks or dog food.

    I'm surprised that in Japan it is allowed to eat hot meals like those on the train at your seat. Imagine the smell if everybody ist eating at the same time. 😅
    In Germany there are dining cars on the long distance trains, where you can sit and eat hot meals. (But only the things you order there.)
    But I guess that's just a cultural difference. When you eat a hot meal like that at your place on a German train you will annoy the other travellers.

      @eatlikealocal Рік тому +6

      It is acceptable eat while riding on the high speed Shinkansen trains. In Japan, Ekiben meals are considered a quintessential component of long distance train travel, enhancing the experience by enjoying regional and seasonal food specialties. Therefore, the Shinkansen trains possess advanced air filtration systems, which efficiently handle smells. I've ridden those trains multiple times and didn't notice smells from Ekiben, including those from the self-heating meals.
