For those who aren't familiar with some aspects of Japanese culture. Vocaloid is actually a voice synthesizing software, with twin tails on the cover just being a made up idol they created to market the product. Chanko, the box with the Sumo Wrestler on it, is short for Chankonabe (sumo stew). It's the stew fed to sumo wrestlers (along with a whole bunch of rice) to make them so big and strong.
Miku is a type of vocaloid, one singer from the selection, every singer has it's own avatars but Miku is the most popular and was one of the first to be created, she's not really a made up idol anymore, since she actually became a virtual idol holding actual concerts and stuff, not just a face
the fact things like these boxes arent available everywhere as a convince alone is sad, these look so good, fair priced, and TONS of food and self heating! couldnt get better
🍱 There is an Aluminum foil pouch contained inside the Ekiben, under the food compartment. Pulling the activation string removes a separation strip that enables subcompartments containing Magnesium and Calcium Oxide to mix with Water inside the pouch. This starts a chemical reaction and the resulting heat transference warms up the meal. After approximately five minutes of warming, the meal is ready to be consumed. 🍱
Aha ok, thanks for the explanation. 😀 Everytime I see a Bacon video with these self heating boxes and pouches I wonder how long it will take before other countries start using these, and especially my country here in Sweden. They really seem to be conveinent as there are no need for fire or gas to heat a meal or drink.
@@P747 i tried self heating foods like these but it feels like something is missing when compared to food cooked from fire or electrical heat. It is just not as good.
Since American armed forces combat rations and civilian camping food uses the same technology, except you have to manually add water to the heat pouch, im surprised the US does not offer these meals like we see in this video.
Another great video, TY DancingBacons. Do other passengers care if you eat hot meals on the train? Also I would love you to do a video taking one of these boxes apart so we can see how the string mechanism works!
Taking the box apart sounds like a great idea! I would think these hot meals do bother some passengers who are easy irritable cause it does emit some smells compared to normal cold bento which are quite odorless
Truly amazing, the kinds of foods you can heat up with just the pull of a string. That beef tongue meal really does look just like something you'd find in a restaurant!
Beef tongue is such a underrated cut of meat. It's so good and it's a shame that you can't find very many places here in the U.S. that have it. With the exception of a few taco food trucks, restaurants just don't have it on the menu. 🙁
@@TheOtherBill We had a great restaurant here called Max's Deli that had beef tongue sandwiches on the menu and they were good, but sadly it closed down.
I've tried it only once because i've not been able to find where I live. I had it as a barbecue skewer very thinly sliced and tender I also tried chicken heart skewers. Both the beef tongue and the chicken heart were actually very tasty. The beef tongue is tender and doesn't have a strong beef taste. The chicken hearts don't actually taste like chicken at all they tasted more like a red meat like beef to me and they were also tender not chewy at all and i had expected it to perhaps have a weird snap when biting into it but they didn't, the texture is not like chicken meat but more like a tender cut of beef combined with the texture of a meat pate. I have never seen chicken heart or beef tongue at grocery stores where i live and i think people ought to give it a try. Some organ meat can be delicious if prepared correctly and it is also cheap to buy because often it is very overlooked and seen only as scrap for making stocks or dog food.
@@daddypascal Oh! Chicken hearts is another favorite. When my mom would make soup or chicken and dumplings she would buy a whole chicken and boil it with the giblets to make her own stock. She always gave me the heart and it was so good.
Excellent video, Dancing bacons. Ever thought of doing a top ten ramen food with location in future video? Your videos are key to knowing what's worth trying and what to pass on.
Train Bentos looks great! Thank you for sharing as always. (I don't think America is ready to see a smoking box on a public train though) DancingBacons, you inspired me to make my own Hawaii based food channel! (You consistently post great info and prices and not many channels do that!) I only have 800 subs, so I'm trying to work harder and harder to earn those subscribers. But the process is enjoyable and my only regret at the moment is I wish I had more time to make more videos. (Still work a 40 hr week and got littles to look afterwards) I also am saving money for a good camera and computer so I can make better quality videos.
Hopefully you keep the limited edition Miku bento box box, I’m sure it will be worth something eventually, especially when there are collectors that is willing to buy it for some good value
The heating devices would be stolen out of each meal to cook drugs and the cashier would help to arrange it as most of them are gangbangers. It would be a loss.

I think most people who watches videos about vloggers eatjng self eating bentos on a Shinkansen would know who Hatsune Miku is.

So is Mitsu a vocaloid? I wasn’t sure based on the post and comments.
@@LindaKruegel yes, she is a vocaloid, she was a vocaloid first, and then also became an idol
Yeah
These all look great. It's cool how they are setup with that string now so they really are self heating without taking it apart first.

Missed opportunity not having a dish with Leeks(Negi) on the Hatsune Miku train food, but thats alright.
True
Should've been Kake Soba
Thank you for sharing your journeys with everyone on UA-cam! Really appreciate your point of view on things.
The beef and chicken bentos would be my first choice. Both look really good.
The string mechanism on the bentos are super cool!!!
I am so impressed by your metabolism 🍚 🍙 🍱 ♥️
I think the train bento videos are my favorite, theyre just so neat.
Dancing Bacons has set a new record in under 30 minutes everyone is searching for the limited edition Hatsune Miku beef tongue bento.
Is it really rare?
Ekiben. That's an ekiben.
There is a manga literally named "Ekiben Hitoritabi" featuring railway bento across Japan.
Japanese food is very good at matching what is pictured on the packet with what is actually inside the packet.
Ty for enjoying food I'll probably never get to try. Looks amazing
If I visited Japan, I'd be trying all that stuff.

I wish they would sell these overseas. This would be the perfect lunch at work!
Very nice and relaxing video.I also liked the train noises and jingle (that probably?) plays before an announcement.
I love those grey hi top sneakers Miss Bacon has on!!! Super cute!
Bringing the Asian culture to an Indian living in Belgium... It does make a difference. ❤
Those Bento boxes looked delicious 🍱😋Thanks DancingBacons 🕺🥓
Wow those actually looks so delicious
hatsune miku bento. genuinely this looks good tho! thanks for these videos
That Oyster Bento looks absolutely amazing! I love oysters so much and I eat that type of meal often. Oysters and rice are a great meal.
I would love to see more street food videos. I love your street food videos, and taste test.
Love this Japan series....
Watching these videos always make me so hungry, I'm glad I prepared a breakfast of homemade riceballs for this.
Everything looks great. Reasonable priced with a good amount of food.

They looked really good. If i were a passenger, I'd sure want one at my next stop.
You can watch the box and timer dance around the tray. Very entertaining in time lapse. The food looks amazing.

Shaky2 train with comfy warmth bento so lovely

Nice love these self heating bentos
Someday I want to visit Japan Tokyo has been my dream since I was 17 years old
I lived long enough to see Hatsune Miku in DancingBacons’ channel!
How cool is this? Next time I go to Japan, there will definitely be ekiben stops in my future, should I take the Shinkansen.
I am so hungry but hate cooking… these would be a godsend
My luck the string would break and I’d be eating cold beef tongue!
Western culture needs to get on the bento boxes. Such fun!
The chanko sumo bowl looked my favorite but they are all probably great
16 years on and the Miku merch lives on

The west needs to adopt self heating pots it just makes sense and I'm assuming environmentally friendly.
