I don't think you have to worry about what videos we'll like. Your videos are a pleasure to watch. No nonsense,no screaming at the camera, just all business. And that perpetual smile! Love it!
For the GoPro: we run Anker battery packs plugged in to the USB of our GoPros to record in the rally car. It becomes a limitation of the SD storage at that point. Like 8 hours of battery life. You dont even need the GoPro's battery installed. That just heats the camera up with it trying to charge that battery. We have a camelback backpack on the harness bar of the roll cage. That gets us water and we put the battery packs there. A long USB cord up, and zip tied to, the overhead cage then a velcro strap around the end. You can then slide the strap towards the back of the car so the cord hangs down and can be plugged in. I don't think any Spec Miata groups would say anything. A USB cord isn't going to stop you from getting out of the car.
That squid was already out of control while passing you, going way too fast and braking too late. But you handled it with far more grace than I could ever muster. Kudos.

Keep being amazing, Sally! 🏎✨ #WomenInRacing #SpecMiata #RaceQueens #NeverGiveUp"
Love the Spec Miata videos especially how you show all of the work that goes into a race weekend when the driver and the crew chief is the same person. I raced in IT and Super Touring as a one man show with the SCCA and everything in the videos are on point. One nit to pick....I don't recommend fueling a race car while in your driver's suit. I remember being told this at my second race in 2003 and it was always a rule I followed. I know it is a pain to change in and out of the race suit all of the time. But I think it is a good idea not to get anything on a suit that could burn or degrade the performance of the suit.
I love your positive attitude even when things don't go well. Your big smile is very contagious. Please keep up your videos, they are very entertaining. That type of racing also looks super fun.
Sure looked like fun, and your car was going really well. Engine sounded great. The day was a win, even if the race wasn't. Mr Fender, meet Mr Hammer. 8^) Nice jobs by Chandler on the tie rod, and Marcos to get you there. Cheers!
Funnily, the races I remember doing were those where we had some crazy obstacle we fixed in time to get to the track (like the time we broke the gearbox in qualifying, drove the 2 hours home and back to bring a junkyard gearbox to the track, fittted it, and drove onto the grid with 3 minutes to spare). Races where we just race and nothing happens...can't remember any of 'em! :)

First place you go for replacement parts--your competitors at the track. There's always at least one team that has every spare part imaginable and they're almost always willing to let you borrow it. My team was that team at the track and I took pride in getting competitors back on track.
Just discovered you .... Ive been a petrol head since birth and loved watching your enthusiasm and the onboard ... Queen of the late brakers , good skills . Looking forward to the new engine ! then you can really push on, especially on pick up out of corners ... Thanks for the vid ,,,, see you soon ..
@@teamsallyracingas the saying goes..."different horses for different courses" have you considered the pros/cons of shoehorning a halo bucket into your Miata? Maybe a short on that could be successful or even linking a short along those lines to a long format on safety gear you're using. Thanks!
That's racing...sometimes your the windshield...sometimes your the bug! Great attitude and great job getting back at it. Not sure it was a good idea to come in on the pit out lane...worked this time but don't go against traffic...you never know what may be coming.
Thank you for this video. This reminded me of the days of when I had a 1.6 NA Spec Miata. :) Sometimes I wished I went back road racing instead of doing the Super Comp dragster stuff.
You have a great attitude and it is fun seeing the whole track experience. I know a lot of people use GoPros but you could try a Garmin VIRB. I've seen them used in both aviation and racing.
Nicely done. Glad car was not too damaged and your reaction to it was very professional in all accounts. Enjoyed the video. I have read about a number of people being frustrated with the earlier GoPro battery life while recoding. An alternative to the GoPro is the Osmo Action 5 Pro or Action 4. However, I have used the GoPro 13 with great success for track events. They seem to have taken the battery life issue seriously with this latest model. About an hour record time,on a battery, plus the option to plug it into a USB port or external battery, while the camera battery is installed.
I bought this Spec Miata racecar it was very used. It was actually a rental racecar 🤣 it was treated very poorly BUT it was super cheap so it’s a work in progress. I’ll make it fast eventually. Thought I’d bring yall on my journey to making it faster and myself 🤣
Great job with the videos (when the camera cooperates) and great job with the Positive Mental Attitude necessary for all true racers. Good decision on the new engine, too. That seems to be the only area where you're at a disadvantage. Good luck!
@@teamsallyracing You're very welcome. I meant to include some stories of cases where race cars had their alignment seemingly scrambled but went faster as a result. I was rooting for you to get lucky like that but I guess the Racing Fates had other ideas. One example of "funny looking" alignment (although deliberately done) was the '64 Monte Carlo Rallye Ford Falcon Sprints. And, maybe the early Mustangs that shared the same suspension geometry. They were set up with lots of toe-out. Other "odd looking" examples were the Shelby 289 Cobra's with very negative front camber settings to compensate for the roll-induced undesirable camber change of the old AC Ace suspension. Really looking forward to seeing you race with more horsepower. Your placement on the track versus some of your competitors is very professional ... and quick. My old Jim Russell Driving School instructor would have liked your style. Fun fact, Russell's school used the "slot cars" (rebodied Lotus 51 Formula Fords) from "Grand Prix." Because of my height I was put in "Pete Aron's" (James Garner) "Yamura" (modeled after the first McLaren GP car). I think I reached something like 100 mph as Dickie Smothers blew by me on the straight in his AAR Eagle F-5000. Ah, good times!

Yes you can! But the footage isn’t as good as a helmet cam. Let’s be honest caged mounted go pros are boring
