This felt like a guided tour through the world of Celtland, it was nice to be reminded of all the different locales I used to run around in as a kid in this game.
I'm glad that there are people who found this game interesting, in a bad or good light. I had a couple of games for the N64 when i was 5, but i never knew how to play Quest 64, I had no manual and hadn't played RPGs. When I later grew up, around 12, I remembered I never finished it. So I went back and had a nice time. It felt nice to slowly grow by not just level but by your own training itself. I do always feel like the game was somewhat bare in it's environment and didn't have a very engaging storytelling. However, it was beautiful in the different environments that you see and it felt like a real adventure. Not just: level up, cutscene, level up, level up to max with item, beat game. You truly explore and be wary of things like item depletion and how far you are from any in or bakery. I can't call it the best game or even a great game for everyone, but it's potential is what makes it deserve that second chance I wished it was given.
Man, I'm so happy someone is giving this game an unbiased overview. I used to rent it as a kid all the time, but never had a memory card so I didn't get far. I still thought it was fresh and have great memories of running through the first few hours over and over, the game always seemed to have so much depth. I've enjoyed your videos very much, it's been crazy in-depth and very well produced, I don't understand how you don't have more views. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and whatever else is to come!
This compliment made my whole morning, thank you so much 😭 I had a similar experience, I didnt have a memory card either but on the plus side I have a lot of nostalgia for the first areas of the game. 😊 Thank you so much again for your kind words, the next part will be out this weekend I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the series!!!
Do you know about the alternate entrance to Blue Cave in the lake in Glencoe Forest? I think the witch in the cabin alludes to it in her dialogue. It's not open when you first pass through the area, and is only usable if you find it from the other side in Blue Cave, on one of the "wrong" paths that you wouldn't wander along if you're following the arrows. There's frankly no motivation to seek it out and backtrack to Dondoran, so I'm not really sure why it exists, but it is an intriguing little detail of the game's world.
There is actually one spirit hidden in Dondoran Castle you need the Water Jewel to access. (The jewel opens the cave pathway, too - it's sealed even from the other side before obtaining it)
@@aegisxor Ok that is fascinating, I had no clue there was an extra secret behind the bookshelf in Dondoran castle that you needed to backtrack after obtaining the water jewel to access. Who would ever think to check for that? I still find the cryptic little details of this game so enticing, lol
Really really appreciate this series. I always recommend this to friends to watch. Rekindled my love for this game. The world building is so good on this game and it’s hard to articulate why.
I’ve had an odd fascination with Quest 64 for years since playing it on N64 as a kid. Your video is a gem! I’m glad to have found it and appreciated your observations ^^ really cool! Kinda sad to see the game so deadpanned when evidently so much went into its concept and world building
Hi again. I really like the fact how this game has a lot of lore and real life inspiration. It's games like this that makes me want to travel to different places in the world.
I couldn't agree more. People can say what they want about the world's design, but the developers must have really taken their time to put together such a rich, inspiring world. Thank you for continuing to support these videos, I can't thank you enough.
This game definitely has way more lore than I remember while I played it. So many charming cities and cool looking areas! Sure, there are a lot of featureless caves and caverns too, but Larapool is one of the coolest cities in any RPGs.
I looooove me some Larapool as well, I'll never forget the first time I entered the city. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment on these videos!!!
Have you considered trying to make a Quest (64) 2? Idk if you've had any conversations with Imagineer or anyone else that would be able to bless off on such a project. I've seen videos of a person making a game titled Legend 64, aimed at making N64-style graphics. Seems doable and can be done better.

We need a sequel man. Or a from the ground up reimagination. Such an interesting world.
This game has such a rich world, I could see a whole novel series stemming from it.
I couldn't agree more. I would love to see more of Celtland in any medium. It offers so much as long as you put in the time to look around.

I couldn't have put it better myself, very well said. Thank you for taking the time to check this out.
I wish the game could get a remake, fix the problems that need to be fixed, and augment what works.

My experience is literally the opposite, I never played this game because every time I went to blockbuster it was rented already.

I do - I think I mention it in part 2 of the story explained. But you are exactly right!!

Construction is “halted” because the developers didn’t have time to finish it LMAO
thanks for making this, this is like one of my favorite movies.
@@Danielmontalvo88 that means a lot, thank you so much for watching!!
thank you so much for making these
Thank you for watching them! Also, awesome guts pic!!

Thank you so much!!!! I couldn't agree more. It's very hard to describe the magic behind why Quest's world works so well.

Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and for the thoughtful comment!!
The funny thing is that the shape of Celtland is pretty much Ireland in itself. (minus northern Ireland I think)

I've seen the idea kicked around before but never realized. I'd love to see it happen someday though!
