- Hi! I am a thrifty crafter into farmhouse home décor and more. I have so many ideas to share and hope that you can learn something or be inspired. We will go shopping together, look at discount hauls, turn the ordinary into a thing of beauty. Come on in, stay a while!
This was so easy but you have to be careful with the products-wear gloves, protective eyewear if needed. It is worth it though!!!
You can find me at Brandy Lessthanforty on Pinterest, Lessthanforty31 on Instagram. Also, I have a facebook fanpage as Lessthanforty. I'd love to see yall there!
I tried the "Works" from the Dollar Tree.....IT WORKS!!!!! I used it for a wine bottle that had all kinds of info on it. I didn't think it would come off. So, I searched the Tube and found your video. Watched it. Bought the Works and a box of Brillo... and got to work! I put the bottle in a can with just enough space to get the Works around it... ( that's a great tip to put in a close-fitting container.) In less than 1hr it was all melting so I used a Brillo pad to scrape it off and poof it just about all came off; except a very small spot that was remarkably STUBBORN....but I re-did it this morning before work and when I get home I'm confident it will be gone too......THNX! PS: no scratches.
Reyettah Israel you’re welcome! I’m so happy it worked for you!
@@Lessthanforty And that stubborn spot is gone as well ; )
Just an fyi. I bought 4 shot glasses with writing on them. I couldn't find "The Works" at the dollar store, so I bought some CLR. I used a glass bread pan, placed the glasses in it with the lettering down, and poured in just enough of the CLR to cover the written areas. I left this for about an hour and a half. When I went to clean the areas with steel wool, I didn't even need it. With my gloved hand, I was able to wipe all the lettering off. Appreciate your video . . . it really helped me!!!
It makes me wonder if the pot scrubber would work no matter what you soaked it in….
Found you thru a Google search for painted label removal... great info, wonderful video, and inexpensive solution. THANK YOU! Much love from a new subscriber in Oklahoma❤
Edit to add.. found your newer channel and subbed there too 😊 can't wait to binge those too!
YOU SAVED MY LIFE!!! I tried lots of tutorials and none of them helped me removing the printed label, except yours!! Thaaaanks from Spain 😢💕💕 I subscribe!
Cool! I'm going to keep this tip handy. I'm sure I'll come across a project that I'll need it for. Thanks for doing this trial and error so we can see the results and options!
The Daily DIYer you are quite welcomed!
I actually loved the design on the jars! :)
R.I.P cute spider.
In all seriousness, thank you for the video. I want to take some labels off of a cool bottle I got from a local coffee shop and I think I will try the Works solution.
This is amazing! Very interesting to see the process and to see what works and what doesn't Thanks for sharing 💖💖
Trudy Lindsay thanks! I am hoping it will help others.
Doesn't work on painted labels baked onto the surface of glass bottles. Soaked one for 3 weeks in CLR and didn't even smudge it.
Thanks for showing the test! I think maybe you should have used the same application method for both. Just use the 'works' method in the jar without the paper towel. Also I think it's the acid that makes it work. I've heard that vinegar will do it too. It probably needs different soak times for different strengths of acid.
If you soak them in vinegar for about an hour the labels wipes right off
It’s not a label odviosly ! It’s screen printed
WOW, who knew... thanks for sharing, its really good to know how to remove this pesky lebles!!! TFS

Ramon - at HOME you are welcome!
Will this remove labels from Corona Beer Bottles?
Thank you for sharing. Background music is distracting.
Thank you for sharing this process. Have you ever tried it on enamel? I’m wondering if the steel wool will scratch the enamel.
cant wait to try this on my bong
😂
I gotta try this... i have some candle jars that i want to remove label
did you get them off?
Thanks! What about getting stuff off jar lids? Any ideas??
n perry a dry erase marker takes off permanent marker. Goo gone is great for sticky residue in nonporous stuff too.
I have some type of printing on plastic bottles . It’s not ink bc i tried acetone over night and it did nothing . Even 99% rubbing alcohol .
Does the steel wool scratch?
What about those pesky kitty litter buckets?
When dry?
Well, it didn't work on Pyrex. The company said the designs will never come off.
The designs are fired (baked) onto Pyrex in a kiln, same as the white glaze. The designs on the bottle are paint, which is why it comes off.
Do you remember What grade of steel wool did you use
do you know what is in the works solution? I am in Australia and haven't seen that product here.
This will not work on candle jars with printed labels. The color comes off the jar with the print. The glass itself has no color.
I’m trying to remove some
Writing from plastic it’s clearly not paint so acetone did nothing
I'm seeing the steel wool is the thing that works not the Works that works lol
The only problem I see is she places the scrubber down and you don’t exactly see it much
Maybe try it with a beer bottle. I bet it won't work then.
I live in the UK and we don't have any these products as far as I know could you please let me what are the actual ingredients in these products. Thank Philip Edward Caddick
I tried works it didn’t work
Volume?
Is it work on plastic bottle too?
Deans Abbas I’m not sure, but I personally would not try it. Plastic is a softer material which could possibly melt if exposed to those chemicals. You might try goo gone for plastic which might work. Thanks for watching!
@@Lessthanforty thanks for the info ... Really appreciate it
Alexa can set more than one timer.
It’s so hard to hear you over the music
Try both crap don't work
White vinegar. That’s all you need. Just white vinegar for an hour.
