Thanks for this amazing video! We never get to see anything like this so it is rare but much needed for viewers to see the perspective of another pro’s player analysis
Thank you for this. As per one of the other comments, it's extremely rare to have a shot by shot commentary. Gives us a invaluable insight as to what is going through the player's head in terms of strategy and shot selections. I wished more commentators would comment on players' strategy during a match. Rather than running off irrelevant statistics or stating the obvious; which can be distracting during the actual match. So thank you for this.
Thank you for the support! Definitely not ideal to not have a coach, but I am in the latter part of my badminton career now and now it's more a matter of being physically able to execute my plan and strategy 😅
The game was fantastic! We had a blast watching the match and enjoyed your analysis even more. You motivated my children, who were watching a live match for the first time
It's been a while since I've watched a 30+ minute video all the way through, LOVED IT! It was great to know your insight/feelings throughout the game, it was kind of like story telling along with lessons to learn from. I'd like to see more of these please, thanks for sharing Howard!
Great video, really enjoyed watching with your commentary! It’s soo funny how you were trying to listen to their coaching during interval 😅 Gotta get that slight edge!
Great Video. Hardcore stuff and I rarely see anybody does this kind of content on UA-cam. I saw you training in OCBC before lol. and seems like you changed your play style after injury, still rocking 🎉
Great to see you come back for the win! You mentioned the term "opening up the court" and "stretching the court" in another video just wondering what they mean and if they mean the same thing? I'm still fairly new to badminton so I love to hear these terms which are new to me
Thanks for the analysis Howard, what a great way to end off your last US Nationals :) I was wondering why you ended up retiring your doubles finals? Was it due to the fatigue from playing two events?
Thank you! Yes, I was dealing with some small injuries with my ankles and playing 10 matches in 3 days definitely did not help. Better safe than sorry, I will prepare for the remaining 4 months of Olympic Qualifying! 😄
Thank you! I do have the Arc 11 Pro as well but somehow the original Arc 11 feels like it is part of my arm already haha. After playing it for almost 10 years, I feeling is just dialed in with the original Arc 11.
Brilliant tactics. I should too start listening to other coach as I often don’t have a coach. So not having a coach is a plus as long as you understand their language 😅 or I could use the google translator 😂
It's actually a unique skill that he has to be able to take them overhead instead of turning for a backhand. I think it's what makes him a difficult player to play. Im taking a few weeks off at home before I will resume Olympic Qualifications tournaments. My next will be Thailand 300!
To call Enrico Keoni Asuncion rough around the edges is a complimentary to him. Man, the footwork is super disorganized. The Hulk smash mentality. What a mess.
I would say it's an unorthodox singles style which actually makes him quite difficult to play at first until you are dialed into his timings and speed. But I've seen his game develop over the last couple years and he's definitely making great strides of improvement to a more stable singles style 😊

Congrats on the win! And sorry to see you had to drop out of MD finals. Hope to watch you compete in 2024💪🏽
Thank you for the support! Yes 2024 will be my last year competing internationally!@@josiahdelarosa6171

Hey Howard, I have crazy respect for you. Winning Men's nationals without a coach is amazing. Wish you the best of luck in the future!

Glad you enjoyed the live match and this video. All the love and support in North Carolina this past weekend was amazing, thank you!
These analysis videos are fantastic! Learning so much from this and definitely will be watching it over and over. Thank you so much for posting these

I was locked in! Picking up on tiny adjustments early can change the entire game!

Thank you! Playing style has definitely changed over the years as I got older also 👴
Thanks for this amazing video! Hope you do some more videos with analysis, nice to hear your strategy i really learn something from it.
This was a really cool video ! It would be great to see more of these as no one else does these at least not in English
Loved listening to your point by point reflection on the match! Great play.

your opponents smashes are crazy

A good review and wonderful commentaries! You have a bunch of control and tactical skills. Love this and it's a great benefits for players like me.
Thank you! Appreciate the support!
Your defense is exceptionally good, that makes much difference in your matches compared to your opponents.
I just noticed Enrico is playing in the Super 500 Australian Open 😅
Great game and analysis. Who’s that the umpire btw? Definitely not with her decisions in the match... seems Asuncion got some points off.
Really love video of you playing. I just want to ask that are you attempting to change to 11pro or something else?

I'm surprised his coach Kennie Asuncion, former pro hasn't corrected his backhand. What are your plans after winning the nationals?
It's actually a unique skill that he has to be able to take them overhead instead of turning for a backhand. I think it's what makes him a difficult player to play. Im taking a few weeks off at home before I will resume Olympic Qualifications tournaments. My next will be Thailand 300!
How the heck he got in the finals with that kind of serve jesus
What racket do you use?
Currently still using the Arc Saber 11

Btw how popular is badminton in USA ?
Not popular. I see mostly Asian people playing this sport. It is too intensive for Americans.
@@nguyendiem1060 that’s sad it’s such a great sport !
@@nguyendiem1060i think its because of the low prize pool.
When you said this is your last US Nationals, does this mean you are retiring after Olympics?
That is the goal!
@@howeezy😢
Is that Coach kenny asuncion's son? Lol his mother does youtube videos as well😂
Yeah it is!
looks like your against a filo, cuz of the surname
I notice how US player play and i think they rely on their attack but they don't super good speed and reaction speeds like reacting to some deception
Under 15 boys in Asia play better than this. US is nowhere when it comes to badminton
Great content!
