    Barry sanders should be wayyyyyy higher than 8, he was the only good thing on those lions so defenses knew he was getting the ball, and he STILL won games for the lions!

    • @bleachcool1465
      @bleachcool1465 7 років тому +5

      Conn Man that's actually not true. The offensive line for barry was actually better than people believe and they had a decent wide receiver and their defense wasn't terrible. They could just never bring it together.

      Just judging by the amount of people that liked comments here I'm guessing most people don't actually know football history and just watch highlights and look at stat sheets. I bet ya'll didn't even know that the lions made it to the NFC championship game in 1991. I don't care who you are, no one player can beat a team. It takes a team to make it that far. I can't believe i'm saying this but people are starting to actually overrated Barry.

    • @samuelrobert4083
      @samuelrobert4083 7 років тому +4

      Joshua Heath LT is the fastest player to get to 10,000 and 15,000 scrimmage yards, he is also the fastest to 100 and 150 TDs. LT turned one of the worst teams in the NFL to a playoff contending team if it weren't for lack of team success and injury he might of gotten to a SB. Barry on the other hand has only ever rushed for 100 yards in 1 of 6 playoff games.

    • @jheath102
      @jheath102 7 років тому +10

      Samuel Robert LT also had Antonio Gates and Lorenzo Neal. Even Vincent Jackson for a while. The Chargers certainly had weapons and imo should have done more. Barry's o line was pathetic and he turned water into wine time and time again. I respect the statistical points you made in support of LT, but from watching them both play for their respective teams i could never put Barry as low as 8. Based on stats Marshall Faulk should be very high on this list too but hes strangely omitted.

    • @samuelrobert4083
      @samuelrobert4083 7 років тому

      Joshua Heath Faulk played with too many HOFers to count, Manning, Warner, Pace, Bruce, Holt, Marvin, Wayne, etc. Yes, they should a done more but if you are a SD Chargers fan you would know the BS thst happened in 06 vs. The Pats. and that LT got injured during the post-season. Barry isn't the type of runner you would want on your team, he constantly places your team in bad field position and his production goes way down in the playoffs

      Brown wasn't playing against any "high school kids", he was playing against pro football players. Because the size level was different (not anywhere near as dramatic as you made it sound), doesn't mean the skill level or toughness was. In fact, Brown played in a far more difficult era for offensive players....as defenders could still clothesline and other things back in the 50s and early 60s when he played. I agree that Barry at #8 is ridiculous though

    • @nathanmcdonald1572
      @nathanmcdonald1572 7 років тому +1

      Please do some detailed research because the average linebacker in the 50s was about 220 and the average D-linemen was around 240. The average D-lineman back then would be an average linebacker today (in weight at least). Corners were MUCH smaller then as well and safeties were also smaller. Not only that, they were not nearly as athletic or fast as the players today. They just weren't. I really wish they had the NFL Combine back then just so you could easily see what I'm talking about.

      playlist55 you thinks he’s 8? I’m a lions fan so I’m a bit biased but he’s definetly top 3, along with Walter Payton and Jim brown

      @@gorgilovesbasketball8251 I think Barry was pretty one dimensional. I am with you, he was an amazing runner. A human highlight reel. You see him going into a pile and he squirts out for another 20 yards. I don't agree with the whole list actually. But, I don't see Barry higher than 5. But that's just me. I can't get over the fact that he just quit.

    Any way you put it, the Top 10 RBs is the hardest list to complete in Football. Especially as people put too much emphasis into their childhood memories, whether Barry, LT or whoever, and players such as Campbell and especially OJ, who is Top 5 at least, are often forgotten.

    Imagine the CTE and other terrible ailments suffered by many of these players especially the punishing runners like Big Earl.

    It’s hard for me to rank my top 5-10 running backs but I can 100% say that my top 3 running backs are Ladanian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, and Barry sanders.
