  • I give the basic procedure of how to time a Toyota Landcruiser 1HZ Bosch VE fuel pump in the chassis of my 2000 79 series Landcruiser.
    Dial Indicator reading needs to be between 1.03-1.09mm for a 1HZ
    Toyota part number for the timing adapter is 09275 54011

    Considering a 1HZ swap in the future to replace my gas (petrol) engine, would you recommend the 1HZ or do you think some of the other Toyota direct injection engines would be better alternatives? I enjoy your videos. Thanks.

      Thanks! I'd recommend swapping to a turbo 1HDT as they are built for the turbo and there would be less stuffing around getting it set up also being a younger engine it will be easier to find one with lower kms.

    My IP (injector pump) on my 1kzte surf started leaking, looking for cheapest way to fix it by doing most of the work meself. Can you recommend any place around Australia where I could chase a refurbished IP for a reasonably cheap price?
    Lastly, can the engine be damaged if keep driving for now?
    Many thanks in advance.

      Hi, im not sure where you could find a refurbished one other than gum tree or ebay. Id be checking wreckers to see if they have any thing, that would be the cheapest option or take it to your nearest diesel shop and see how much it would cost rebuild it. in regards to the leak it would depend on how bad its leaking it is possible that the pump could starve of fuel and seize up if its leaking bad enough.

    • @CamshaftFM
      @CamshaftFM  4 роки тому +1

      Hi theres not a lot to them they are pretty straight forward to get out all I would suggest is use a gear box jack because its an awkward gearbox to balance, try find a dummy inputshaft to help align the clutch plate and spigot bearing when installing the clutch, make sure to get the fly wheel machined and have patience when putting it back in they can be fiddly like most 4x4 gearboxes.

      they're a bit sluggish. with a turbo it pulls a lot better, the 1hdt is better suited for towing

    To time the pump with a dial indicator. Do I have to open the timing belt cover and check the cam and pump mark on TDC ? Or just the crank mark on the TDC will work?

    Hi mate great video
    Just want to confirm, you’ve adjusted the dial indicator to 1 at TDC which is 1 full rotation on the dial & then fine adjusted pump to achieve the .05 .
    In other words, you’ve preloaded the dial indicator to 1 full rotation at TDC & then fine adjusted the pump to .05
    Is that correct.... cheers in advance 👍

    • @CamshaftFM
      @CamshaftFM  3 роки тому +2

      I think youv got it right. Basically you put the eng at tdc rotate backwards until the dial indicator stops moving then set the dial indicator to 0 then rotate the engine forward to tdc and at tdc the reading should be between 1.03-1.09mm. If not adjustment on the pump is required until it reads the correct number. You might have to do it a couple times to get it spot on.
      Hope that helps.
