This looks like so much fun. I'm just trying to link corners now after a couple days on a borrowed setup while waiting for my fanatec csl to come in. I can't wait to tandem with people
My biggest problems with tandeming are two. First one being one monitor setup, I can barely see them when close together. Second problem being sometimes I'm way too slow so they just get away
Hi Kame. My issue is I think the fov and I do not know how to get it right I have tried all the calculators etc set it up as it says but when I chase someone when I think I am very close to them looking at the car but I am not at all when I go look at the replay. I do not know how to get that corrected.
I'm good with drifting. Will I still watch this? Of course, I'll learn every little thing I can. I wish people understood it more "Be confident and SKILLED, not just confident" It's annoying getting hard tap spin outs after busting my feet for few laps of consistent drifting and some guy just slide in and sent me into oblivion. I wish every one in public server you play with have the skill level like Kame. I would be happy to maintain a consistent leads for all night if server is full with good drifters.
Kind words, I appreciate it. And I’m right there with you, accidents *do* happen in drifting, but that doesn’t mean they are normal or something to be celebrated. Ppl need to control how far they push past their comfort zones and learn without wrecking their car or someone else when possible IMHO 👌🏻
I have watched tons of your videos and I noticed the same exact turbo sound. Which car are you driving and what’s the cars pack. Nice Chanel, you actually inspire me to go into real live drifting. Just got the car this week.
This seems more of a drift etiquette video other than a how to tandem. It’s definitely useful for beginners but nothing here really taught me how to tandem other than how to be aware and conscious of other people
Thank you for the feedback, I’ll have to think on how to articulate a plan for learning to tandem better. I thought I covered how transition timing and LFB is key to control proximity but maybe that was from a few livestreams or another edited video😅
Hey man love the content, I just bought a sim recently and was looking into how to become a better drifter because I’ve been getting doors on the sticks for years and wanted to take it up a notch. I’ve been getting a lot of stuff down as fast as I can because I’ve been super eager to get doors on an actual rig instead of on an Xbox controller. Anyway I found your content and discord a few days ago and joined my first server yesterday and the whole time was struggling to keep up with the good tandem drivers. I’ve been trying to stay at the back of the pack and give everybody space because I do still make a lot of mistakes but I just can’t seem to catch up, I’m constantly getting gapped out of corners and was curious about tuning tips (I struggle with tuning) or anything at all that could help. Sorry for the long read, any feedback at all is highly appreciated!!
Thanks for tuning in and checking out the channel, welcome to the wheel gang haha I actually have a video nearing completion breaking down all of the skills needed including how to catch up and how to slow down/avoid overtaking the lead car...stay tuned it should be out by next week or sooner :)
How do you left foot brake without spinning out. When I left brake the car will throw more angle and eventually spin. How can I practice left foot braking?
While left foot braking can cause the car to pick up more angle and sometimes require more countersteer, it tends to only aggressively gain angle or spin when the front tire is locked by overly strong left foot braking. Practice using less braking force/travel (depending on whether you have load cell pedals or travel-based pedals) and find the balance of throttle and brake that keeps the car in drift but doesn’t lock a tire and spin the car 👍🏻
Finally getting good practice with these AI drift car lobbies. Had to come rewatch it! But now the problem is the AI drifts the track so perfectly It's kinda hard to keep up with. But definitely the best tandem practice I've gotten in a while and im definitely getting better finally. I used to play random lobbies It was hard to get good practice in before.
lab zee I’ll add it to my list, although the best answers I can probably give are in this video which you may have already seen: ua-cam.com/video/r5p-BSyVRNk/v-deo.html
Any particular reason you're not running neck FX? I realise your on triple monitors, but at the end of the days, I feel neck FX adds extra inputs to feel your drift. Makes it so much easier to catch big angle in my eyes.
It’s the opposite for me 🤔 In sim my main visual indicator for what the car is doing angle wise is the scenery passing by the static a-pillars....just like IRL. Though I use my sense of balance and weight shift way more than visual indicators IRL. If the a-pillars are not static because the camera is moving, I personally have a harder time telling how much angle the car is at and whether or not it is continuing to gain angle, so I can’t drive with nearly as much confidence. It may help to think of it like my actual neck does the same thing as NeckFX. If I move my actual neck *and* NeckFX moves too, it’s over exaggerated IMO.
@@KameTrick thanks for the swift reply. That makes alot of sense. For me currently just playing on a single, it was a game changer, but I have a feeling that I'll turn it off come the time I go to triples now. Or maybe just have a very, very soft setting. Sort of like the feeling of moving slightly side to side in the seat from g force
@@sebastianweber8024 I’m sure if you learned on sim with NeckFX that it would just be another perfectly normal part of driving, so I wouldn’t worry too much about whether or not to use it when you get triples. Coming from tons of IRL experience, I already have some strong preferences on how I drive that make it harder to adapt to sim and it’s lower degree of information about what’s happening with the car. But if you’re a blank slate just do what feels best, IMO you won’t have trouble adapting to IRL someday, whether you use NeckFX or not 👍🏻
