The Elders would tell stories of, how friendly Tribes use to get together, and celebrate together, singing, and dancing together, and they would relay race. From what I heard, very exciting.+
Tribes have been gathering for this sport and fellowship far before the Europeans came to our great country. Kudos to these families for keeping it going. Yea, you can’t take this from us
Great video . Spectacular horse men ship and horse skills. Many great horse PEOPLE in the nations. The horse a large part of the heritage of the People particularly the Plains PEOPLE.
Hope Pumpkin got to retire back at his place. Noble heart the way he kept going like that. Amazing horse. This was great. Love this sport. Don't really like regular racing. A lot of the horses just end up in the Slaughter Pipeline. I love the way you guys treat your horses. Really awesome. It's really beautiful. Love that the horses get to be out on the prairie training. They seem to love it as much as the riders. More natural and seriously emotional to watch. I know horses try to avoid stepping on you, but sometimes they can't avoid it. Horrible. Glad you lived young fellow. Hope you're doing well now. Be safe all.
I've seen many of the relay races and recognized many on here. At the first there was Leo Teton. It was years before anyone was able to catch him. I've also met and talked to Kendall Old Horn and Lance Tissidimmit. Horse racing is exciting but Indian relay is by far the most exciting and intense.
Here is the 2022 schedule. The last scheduled race is on Saturday. It will give you an idea of what the 2023 calendar could look like. horsenationsindianrelay.com/event-directory/
Great doc, but the announcer at the Wyatt rodeo, grrrr he really disgusted me🤮 smh talking about "allowing" the riders to wear traditional "costumes!?" Wtf, its NOT a costume, it's regalia & should be respected. Seriously, as if it wasn't bad enough with the parade of colonial solders, who btw massacred natives by thousands( & that's putting it very, lightly). Beyond disrespectful smh
Ride it like you stole it. Very impressive horsemanship.
What an intense and dangerous sport!! Makes the Kentucky Derby look really tame!
Our brothers bring it home. You show em who really owns the land. Aho!
and that is such a powerful way to show your strength to the world ... greetings all best wishes from Europe
keep your pride 🪶

Sorry, Gerry.
No problem. I have been called worse.
Gotta be more dangerous than bull riding!
