- This is the story of the mighty Lakota and one family's fight against their historical bloody and impoverished past to teach their young about their own culture that is on the brink of extinction through the sport of Indian Relay - a sport derived from fighting battles against their enemies. Our story centers around the Brewer family, split between two teams, the Brew Crew and Dancing Warrior, as they compete against other tribes throughout the Midwest in an attempt to regain their Lakota pride and give their children a blueprint for the future.

This is what society needs, awareness of what really is going and has been for all these years. . God Bless my Native American brother's and sisters 🙏
Animals, community, exercise, and culture... 4 of the most effective ingredients for healing and wellbeing. This sport is fantastic to watch, and I hope to see it grow a lot. I'm Australian so probably won't get the chance to see it in person, but I'll support it any other way I can
This is a fierce sport….i have sooo much respect for the riders
What an incredible documentary; informative, exciting, and heartbreaking. I sincerely hope these horses can help their people heal. ❤️

Indian Relay needs to be an Olympic Demonstration Event in LA 2028!
Cool.
Story about the little big horn ride When they camped in crow agency that first night some crowboyz snuck into their camp and stole all their horses when they woke up that morning and Saw their horses missing, they called the BIA police They found their horses down by the campgrounds unharmed. but that night, some Crowboyz counted coup like the old dayz proud of them boys
The love for the horse is something that can bring together people from all over the world. Indian relay is definitely a very exciting kind of sports. I imagine it could be introduced to horse people on every continent, well maybe not in Antarctica, but Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North- & South America, they all got many different tribes or other groups of people with ancient, deep rooted connections to the horse and its spiritual power. How beautiful would it be to see young people from many nations compete in this kind of horse racing! The only thing that needs improvement is the safety of the riders and the horses. Helmets and protectors for the upper body, that reduce the risk for severe injuries to the spine and inner organs like kidneys, liver and lungs could do a lot in that regard while at the same time taking none of the fun and athleticism away. I admire the courage and grit of the Indians portrayed in this film but I really hate to see any of them getting hurt severely or even killed. The way I see it, every one of them is just way too precious and loosing even one of them is such a waste of talent and human potential, not just for their family but to mankind.
Greetings and best wishes from Switzerland to the Lakota and every other American Indian out there, the world is such a more interesting and much more beautiful place with you people and your great cultural heritage being around.
Thanks for 44 Subscribers 😊👍🏻

That's the name of their relay team
Poor horses tho
Why these horses are held in high regards. Cherished respected trained to run in these races these horses are living their best lives and not just sitting in a field or pasture.
The horses are loving it, running free, letting loose & highly revered by their riders
@@dakotaridgek9I highly doubt they like racing
@@BrockPerez-c7x you aint know horses
@BrockPerez-c7x As someone who's ridden and lived around horses my whole life, it's always clear when there's mistreatment but I don't see any here. These horses all look very healthy and fit, and they're visibly keen and engaged when being brought to the track. Right before running you can see their training + restraint competing with their excitement in a healthy way. When they get going they're incredibly focused and their eyes are bright and showing no signs of fear.
If they didn't want to be doing this, it would be insanely difficult to force them to. And if they WERE forced, they'd be showing a lot of discomfort and terror. Their breeding helps a lot of course, they're Thoroughbreds. But yes, they're loving this
Jesus CHRIST, can those kids ride!
