  • Adele is the Wellbeing Manager for Wakefield and District Housing.
Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) is a social housing provider who have operated a mental health navigation scheme for their tenants since 2015. Mental health professionals employed by the NHS but embedded within WDH provide specialist support to tenants, including advocacy, signposting and direct support.
Many social housing tenants experience mental health issues, which can negatively impact on their tenancy and even result in eviction. A joined-up approach between mental health and housing services is needed to help maintain tenancies and secure housing stability.
