Steel Legion: "Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me?" Kriegers:"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
Hey, I know this is an old video but I recently took your advice on starting a steel legion army using proxy models from vanguard miniatures, after receiving them today they seem considerably larger than I expected. How big are your models? as the models im using to proxy chimeras are 2cm wide and 4cm long and the churchilian tanks are just slightly smaller than this. Compared to the models in your video these seem significantly larger and I'm worried I may have used the wrong scale, I bought them in 6mm scale however they seem a lot larger than traditional GW models in epic scale

Thank you can you send pictures so I can get an idea of the look of stuf ? I have a lot of this stuff but lost all paper work on how an infantry unit looks.
take a look at taccmd.tacticalwargames.net for miniatures, army builts etc., net-armageddon.org for rules and army lists, traitor-legion.appspot.com as armylist generator and vanguard miniatures for alternative proxy miniatures.
Nee Nachthall How long and how difficult is to learn rules so someone can play Tabletop Warhammer 40k ? I can understand what it's all about because as a kid i had something similar with Lord of the Rings.
Johan Dale To be honest it is fairly easy, assuming you have some basic tabletop knowledge already and do not need to understand basic game mechanics like shooting, movement and so forth. So if you know roughly what tabletop games are all about, you might need three to four games in total to get into the basic game mechanics. Obviously you can spend years in perfecting your skills and tactics afterwards. in total it is fairly cheap if you are willing to make some conversions for your war engines or switch to alternative manufacturers such as Onslaught miniatures or Steelcrown Productions. Best would be an experienced player for the start, but the rulebook, which can be found on net-armageddon dot org contains also some basic introductory games, which teach you step by step the core rules. I would strongly recommend getting into this game, especially if you like the Warhammer 40K universe, find the 28mm game from Games Workshop too expensive and if you enjoy tactical and balanced wargames ;)
Nee Nachthall Super thanks for the info, wish i could do that one day. Don't know clubs like that where i live but we'll see. Yes Warhammer 40k is my favorite fictional setting.
If I were you, just grab two small armies for the start and get used to the rules. Paint them up properly and if friends ask you about it, try to make a demo game with them... worked well for me at last.

How come your units are so small ?
Engimato Well... the infantry was inside the Gorgons, so around 60 stands of Death Korps infantry were missing on the table ;)
