    I bought this bike about 3 months ago and it feels great. I upgraded the pedals and got a dropper, which makes it feel really solid as a bike. It can tackle any terrain and jumps, and is light. The paint scratches very easily though

    Right on. I love my Sentier VR+. I tried getting just the Sentier+ but it was already sold out. I took a chance with CRC and got a great bike for the price (they covered customs and shipping at the time). How can they do it in the UK? I don't know of anything like this in the US.
    I only upgraded the pedals to Chesters, added Brand-X 150 dropper (also from CRC) and went tubeless. Bike is done.

    I got the 2021 sentier 27vr back in january. Looks like most of your cons are addressed with this bike. Z2 bomber fork 34mm stanchion, 180mm rotors front and rear and dropper post. Bike is awesome. Done a few videos of the bike on my channel.

    There's a 2020 Deore version of this bike at the same $949 price and I'm wondering if the changes over the last two years make it as good a deal as the 2018 model? For starters the Rock Shox fork has been replaced with a 130 mm X-Fusion RX32, a fork I know absolutely nothing about because there's no information on it anywhere that I could find.

    I have the same fork 2018 model, but only with 100 mm of travel ( due to my S size frame ) and i can say that is a wonderful fork., i don't have problems with drops at all. Also if you want a good upgrade, maybe the brakes, try some Shimano SLX M7000 , good price and also good quality.
    Cheerz !

    • @whatfreedom7

      How’s your brakes? My lanai brakes are crap. I keep getting howling once they warm up and the front rotor warped for some unknown reason. Idk if they are out of adjustment or if they just suck.

    • @XxPureKhaosxX
      @XxPureKhaosxX 5 років тому +1

      whatfreedom7 I’ve got Teatro hd-m290s. They’re pretty good but lose a lot of umph when they’re wet and cold. They howl a lot when wet. I’m sure you’ve probably got the same. I was planning on replacing them with Magura or trp 4-pistons and upgrading the rotors but the ones I have now at least do the job sort of. No idea if low end Shimanos are any better

    • @whatfreedom7
      @whatfreedom7 5 років тому

      Pure_Khaos yeah mine howl when dry but not at first. It’s like they have to get hot first or something. I may get a shop to look at them and upgrade if necessary.

    • @XxPureKhaosxX
      @XxPureKhaosxX 5 років тому

      whatfreedom7 howling is pretty normal. It has to do with how brakes can induce vibrations in rotors when they’re wet. It’s pretty unavoidable in the wet. I’d look into what brakepad compound you have. I’m not sure if the differences but certain ones are better for wet/dry some are good for only dry. Also maybe look into different rotors. Some have features like trp where they have channels for dirt and gunk

    Hayyy, nice vids man. Been looking to catch one of these sentiers. But there seems to be alot of different versions of it! Which version is yours? I noticed that the 2019 model has other tyres than maxxis (which is kinda the only brand i know of) are the tyres as good on the 2019 model? Im just feeling so lost on the CRC website lol
