Interesting review, just purchased the 2020 vr, which has the 180mm rotors and a dropper post and the better fork already. It was extra $300, but probably upgrades would cost more alone. Looks like they listened to your wishlist and thanks to your review I made my decision to buy.
Another cracking video. I just bought a 2019 Sentier as my first mountain bike after riding BMX for years and years and I couldn’t be more excited. I Can’t wait till it gets delivered! Will be watching these vids on repeat until then.
Great video man! It's nice to see some one talking about the Sentier. I am using the winter months here in Sweden to build my own Sentier and I plan to have it ready come spring. It's my first ever bike build and it's really fun to do research and to choose your own components. I bought a Sentier VR 29 frame in October and have since been putting stuff on it with every incoming paycheck. It's still missing pedals, grips and a dropper so I haven't even ridden it yet. I can't wait for the bike to be finished and the trails around here to be rideable. Videos like yours really adds to the suspense. I'm using my old bike in the snow as of now... Thanks for the great videos and keep them coming!
@@that_squires_guy Maybe! There's a fricking whole lot to think about and to learn when you're not used to it but it's a lot of fun! Could be a nice vlog series :)
I did the exact same thing as you... I got the vitus sentier frame when it was on sale on crc and i built it...after a couple of months my bike is completed. I even started working a part time job so that i could fund the project. I really recommend any mountain biker to try and build a bike from scratch as it benefits you with knowledge about your own buke
@@aiman_hazim Great job man! That's exactly how I feel about building your own bike. I had done some repairs and maintenance/upgrades before but this was the first time I actually had to find out exactly which parts would fit and really get to know the whole bike. Getting the correct brake caliper adapters, cutting brake hoses, fitting the head set and so on. It's really nice to get to know the whole bike from the ground up and it's really fun in the process. Next step for me would be to build my own wheels I guess... That also seems like a lot of fun!
Cool bike. I looked at buying one but ended up getting a trek Roscoe 7. I’ve had it two weeks now and love. It made sense for me to get a trek because I have several dealers near me.
Loving the videos! Your first video about this bike convinced me to get one. I got lucky as it was cleared out and they had 1 left. So I got a good deal. Since then I have done a lot of the same upgrades including the same dropper post. I'm just waiting for the snow to melt here and I'll be out on the trails again. Though it handles pretty well on hard packed snow.
I have the same bike and I have also upgraded with almost the same components: Crankbrothers Dropper Seatpost 150 mm & RockBros Flat Pedals. This bike is a Beast Greetings from Italy
This was one of two bikes I considered getting but went with the niner air 9 with full nx setup and rs Judy gold forks. I also added the bx ascend dropper. Great review. Btw in 2019 I believe both of these bikes come with 12 speed group sets and the price went up a bit but still a great buy.
Man, I stressed over the decision of which bike to purchase. Tried to get one of the blem Vitus' on Chain Reaction but missed out. Decided on the Nukeproof Scout 290 Race. $1350 and has dropper already. Should be here in a week or so. Not to mention, the bike's color is called Ron Burgundy!!!
Awesome Video, great components added. I was considering buying a Sentier on my own, but I went for a Ragley Marley 2.0, which is a perfect Fit for me. Loved watching your Video. Subbed. Enjoy your Ride. Best Regards from Germany.
I've have the virus Nucleus vrs 29 since Xmas and another cracking bike for the money ,I'll be looking forward to the dropper seat post review as plan to get one .
I have a Giant talon 3. Upgraded drive train to 1x11, maxxis minion front and rear, hollow ifx crankset and fooker pedals. At this point I have about $850 in this bike(it is much much better)and still need better fork. My son is ready for a new bike and I have talked him into the Vitus Sentier. I noticed 2 models. One is $999 and one is $1199. Is the $1,199 worth the extra. Thanks!
Really nice video! Bought my Vitus Sentier VR+ 27,5" bike about 2 months ago. That's how I found this channel, scouring the web for bike reviews. I've made a few upgrades of my own, mainly Nukeproof pedals, Brand-x Ascend 150mm dropper, DMR Brendog 32mm death grips and a Funn 3,5mm stem (found the top tube to be too long for my taste, but that's what you get when going after a chart and not test riding the bike before purchase). Are you still rocking the full 800mm width on the handlebars? I'm pretty big, 190cm and 90 kg, still I find them a tad too wide. Cheers from Sweden!
I just bought a 2020 Sentier 29 (Large). I have no idea what dropper port would fit while still maximizing the drop amount. it is a 31.6. any advice? worried about the length fitting
How would you say the sizing works out I am looking at a vitus sentier 27 vr and I am 5'10" I am almost certain that a large would be good but i really don't know this bike.
Dang! Today I been tossing around the vitus sentier + $604 (a steal) on clearance @ CRC one left in my size or the 2019 VR w/ Cosmetic Damage @ $1079. Reg Price says $1499. I waited to long today and the + sold out..Bummer! Not sure why that VR says $1499 as reg price when they have the same one no damage priced at $1199 but the large is out of stock... Not sure exact cosmetic damage it may have other then its says the top tube and not structural damage. Do you think it's worth it?
@@that_squires_guy Thanks for the reply. The 2019 Sentier VR is in Black/Grey. Looks stealthy, Love the color. Why would you think they wouldn't stick to their discount?
Awesome vid, glad you're still having a blast on the Sentier! :-)

Where did you get this bike for $900? Even the non+ version I'm seeing is $1199 at Chain Reaction or Wiggle.
is this the sentier+ or the sentier 27
Soft tire needs to be on the front!
In the front you need more grip and you have less wear.
Watch that front tyre on wet concrete lol
I know because of a friend ;)
lol , i fell twice on that damn off road tires , different brand thou
What Shimano adapter did you use to upgrade the rear rotor to 180mm?
