    I think the best compromise between infinite restocking and none at all would be if you can carry exactly one set of gear and one extra item pouch on your mount. Especially if wilds is more open world, it would require careful preparation for longer outings while still allowing flexibility

      I have different models:
      1- MHGenU restocking(you for resupply and they send an air drop that can land in any zone randomly, camp should be an option too) but you can choose between different sets of items in exchange for Zenni or points with a 10-30 min cool down.
      2- you have a box the size of a palamute pouch you can carry to missions and you can choose if it will automatically restock after coming back.
      3- you can choose from your box what items to bring to the field but they will cost Zenni to deliver and will be delayed by 1-5 min to arrive at your location on the map(maybe the barrel felyne of MH gen can be the delivery cat), also will have a 10-20 min cool down.

      @@carlostejeda4341 option 2 sounds a lot like what I suggested, and I think your other options could definitely work. Maybe even have all 3 to some degree for maximum flexibility. I do feel like if wilds is more open world the third option might not work super well tho bc camps might be pretty spread out

    For the LS changes, while i do love the simplicity from 2nd gen MH, i felt like Foresight Slash and Special Sheathe has cemented itself as part of the core moveset of the weapon, honestly I'd be glad if Capcom simply took the LS moveset from World and fix the Iai Spirit Slash + helmbreaker

    Regarding the Quest Separation. In World there was no Village to fit in with the narrative and all the Quests we did were for the Research Commission and by Extension the Guild. If Wilds also has a theme of new region exploration and thus no village do you think it would still be good to implement it in another form.

    If we do get underwater combat back some how It'd be a crime to not see Namielle back with it. Have to "Fly" underwater with the jelly fish like movement, have some manta ray inspired attacks. Its my favorite monster in general so I kinda just want them back, but with the possibility of a super interesting underwater fight that really lets Nami be more then "avoid the puddles" which is all it became after a few attempts.

    Based on the trailer and the 2 weapons and size of environments it implys longer trips out to the frontier which probably means making your own camp or lots of mini camps spread out through the world. There seems to be environmental effects like wandering storms and what not that even the monsters run from and i noticed the lightning towers scattered about and some of the creatures were using the stegos as a organic version of this which is what you would expect from something that happens frequently.

    I disagree on the quest system part. I too think that there should be a difference between village and hub quests, but removing the health scaling would not be a good solution in my opinion. I played the old mh and the hub quest can be a real slog solo because they can take forever to kill. While they can be soloed, its not as good of an expierience because of this and as a result you would be warding off half the game for solo players, which in my opinion is really not a good solution, even if you get better rewards. In my opinion the System we have now is the better one. Playing with others will still be easier because of aggro split, but people who want to hunt solo can do so without caviats.

    • @crazy-nephew_5857
      @crazy-nephew_5857 4 місяці тому +3

      Exactly, 100% this. A simple solution would be to give us the 'option' to increase the Monster Health to 2x, 3x or even 4x the Health for those who want a bigger challenge and with increased rewards, ofc. But don't punish your players for wanting to play Solo Hunts. We should have the Freedom to play the way we want to play. That's the problem I have with the old Games. So much amazing Content but the 4x monster Health ruined the experience for me.

      If you give those players options, they’ll always take the path of least resistance, and then where will be anyone to join the players who wanted the other option?
      I don’t really care much for multiplayer, so I always play solo. And beating the hub solo in 4U was such an exciting feeling of accomplishment that I really miss having.

  • @Spike2276
    @Spike2276 4 місяці тому +1

    Aa far as LS gameplay goes i just hope that they don't make ISS an instant level up on the spirit gauge like rise. It felt pretty good in Iceborne as a tool for avoiding damage when you went into special sheath, but it had the cost of downgrading spirit gauge if you missed the timing.
    I also hope that the only shortcut to spirit roundslash/spirit reckoning is foresight slash, adding too many shortcuts to those moves made it too easy to keep the spirit gauge up in RiseBreak
    And i wouldn't mind if certain moves from Rise/GU were reworked. Such as having sakura slash not level up the gauge, but increasing it's MV (in fact, i think capcom could increase the MV of most LS attacks while lowering the total MV of something like helm breaker to incentivize people to use the complete moveset of the weapon)

  • @masterhind2036

    I want world longsword without Helmbreaker and Iai counter, and instead of Iai Slash, they have sacred sheathe from Rise. So you build up your guage to red, and use it on one big attack that drains all your levels. The issue is with Helmbraker is that you're just dropping 1 level, so you are always between yellow and red. If you remove helmbreaker and replace the Iai counter with Sacred Sheathe, the whole spirit meter becomes significant, as you will get Max damage on sacred sheathe only if you use up all your spirit levels, which actually gives a use to white spirit level for once.
    So basically Foresight Slash+Sacred Sheathe should be the only 2 carry-overs from 5th Gen for LS imo.

    yeah they are never going back to not scale to solo play, that in my opinion is one of the main resons the game got so popular. And if that is the case there is no need to have hub and village, It just creates confusion amongst the new players. I understand where you aim, to promote multiplayer, but that can be done with other incentives.

      @@emblemblade9245 yes because the old games did such a good job of explaining their mechanics. Monster Hunter has had 4 titles pass 5 million sales: World at 19.6 million, Iceborne at 11.6, Rise at 14.2 and SB at 7.1. Freedom 3 and GU were close at 4.9 and 4.7. You also have to understand they aren't "refusing to learn" in most cases, so many mechanics in these games are just straight up not explained: how do I compare weapons across classes when the weapon attack values are bloated? I know higher sharpness good but where do I find the multipliers because I have a high raw Green weapon with Bludgeoner compared to a lower raw weapon with White/Purple? WTF do skills even do? Half of them don't give numbers, some give the true value increase when the stats are displayed in bloat form so why would I want an increase of 3 when I have over 1000? Putting these resources in the actual game would do so much to actually help people learn but they won't do it

    The only thing I disagree with is the Village/Hub split. It was always atrocious to need to defeat all those monsters AND start at basically 0 again, with stupid fetch quests and dumb small monster exterminations. Rise brought it back after World and it made little to no sense, even in an actual Village setting. My biggest problem always was how most upgrades were locked behind doing singleplayer quests, which forced you to do those stupid low-tier quests twice. This is with my biggest issue, non-scaling hp, fixed since World.

  • @TheDragonshunter
    @TheDragonshunter 4 місяці тому +1

    - I agree on the Hub quests not to scale for single player but making just 4p scale is too much, a minimum of 2p scale if soloing hub quest would be fine. Or some quest scale to 2p and others are locked for 4p. Remember people cried on Alatreon in World, it was Capcom's fault because they made it MR24 only but still.
    Also I agree on Villa quests being solo again but at the same time not being able to play with friends right away is actually a huge deal now days.
    - There hasn't been a good argument that will convince me that random Charms/Talismans is better than Random Decos. You get the decoration and that's it, there is no 0.01% chance for a god charm. The fact that a build can't be its best because you are RNG locked is aid. Also open your charms box... 300+ Charms? People don't liked random decos because they never got artillery or some must have decos for specific weapons, this can be easily fixed making monsters have specific decoration drop tables, artillery drops from Bazel, etc. with a pity system, after 50+ kill you get it, with some decos just drop after capturing.
    - Make it that you can resupply on map camps only one time, but change weapons whenever you want. It was cool how when Fighting Kulve you have the thunder build and then swap to the Ice/CC builds.
    - People don't like the Clutch Claw because of tenderizing, nothing more. The mobility it gave and that then got expanded with WireBugs was amazing. Dodging Fatalis attacks clawing into him its good gameplay. Remove it all, instead put it all into underwater combat, clawing, wall bangs, wire bug mobility and wire bug attacks, all this just for underwater combat.

      I agree on the random charm/talisman thing, it is awful. Tbh i feel like they should integrate both smithing options in the game while keeping the random decos+charms as min-maxing endgame grind content. They should let us the option to craft all Decorations + Charms of each skill and for the endgame grind they can add the random lv4 decos that contain 2 skill and the charms with 2 skills + slots so that you can grind the shit out of the game but youre still able to do a solid build you want to go for.

However, I do agree that they shoukd tone down the LS counters, and not do the same thing what they did in Rise/Sunbreak. I kinda like how the LS in MHW and I hope they keep foresight and ISS at max. I like the hp scaling in hub quests because the it's a complete different game when you play it solo vs 4 other players. Solo it's more like dark souls - a clear 1o1 (+ palico) but with 3 other players it's more like Dark Souls with summons - way easier.
    Village Quests would be fine if there are the same type of monsters as in hub quests but hub quests were always the endgame content with the most challenging monsters.
    In freedom unite it was just painfull to clear one monster in 30+ mins because it's just a damage sponge. Increased rewards wouldn't make the fight more fun for me.
    But I'm a fan of separating hub and village quests like they did again in rise, it's like a tutorial.

    I don't think personally they should water down longsword, I know you like gen 2 LS but LS being semi flashy is what I feel reinvigorated a ton of peoples view on it, as prior to gen 4 it was always considered a "boring" weapon by a lot of people, there needs to be a balance, I'd say keep special sheathe and the sheathe counter just to add diversity so the gameplay of LS isn't just spam spirit combo, because if I wanted a game where rolling was the primary method to avoid damage, I'd go play a soulsborne, having more options of how to increase gauge is never a bad thing, not to mention I know a ton of people, myself included loved your QS is the only thing that matters series, because you were basically doing a dance with the monster, countering I feel rewards knowledge of the game, using myself as an example, Ive been playing since og Tri so I feel like I know a lot of monsters movesets, however I don't ever come close to doing no hit runs like you, I do think they should bring back the punishment for mistiming the counter wrong tho, idk why they removed it, it should be a risk v reward move, and I agree that you should lose red gauge like you did in gen 3, but they would have to buff red damage to make it worth losing after 90 seconds or whatever it is

    I'll be honest I hate makeing decorations in rise because I don't like farming every monster I'm fine with rng if that means I can pick a quest I like to do to get stuff it'd be cool if we could just buy or meld them with a currency we could farm to eleviate the rng while still allowing players to hunt what they actually want to hunt I think customizing armor is a cool idea but it needs a rework from rise because of the rng tied to it it also at least to me didn't feel that needed since they're wasn't set bonuses so I'd like to see it come back just less rng dependent as well as haveing cool set bonuses to actually give me more of a reason to do it also introduce it in high rank not master rank so peaple can have the materials by master rank to do it well

    Also wishing Akantor/Ukanlos to be back, it's about time. Only could do White Monoblos solo, so yeah, would definitely enjoy doing it in multi as well.
    I personally wish spread ammo will get some love in this game, no broken sticky/slice anymore. Elemental LBG is fun but honestly RAW is so much cooler. Spread gameplay is defo satisfying as you commit 10x more. And yet I don't feel very rewarded compared to the damage elemental ammo does 😅 And please Capcom, DONT BRING BACK THE SCOPE

    Has it been 100% confirmed that Wilds is gonna be a true open world game and not like the semi-open world style that World had but just on a bigger scale? If so, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire quest system gets overhauled for Wilds. This game is gonna be an even bigger departure from classic MH so the traditional village and hub system is most certainly gonna go away in favor of something much more free-form and flexible.
    There will definitely still be specific quests with pre-defined rewards but if you just want to go out to hunt a Rathian or whatever I could imagine a system where you just choose a monster from a list which will then give you a way point and a rough area on your map where you can expect to find your target. If you're already in a party then just head there or call for others with an SOS flare or some new equivalent.

    your apology is more than accepted my dear peppo, know that you are accompanied by an iron community and that, my hand on my chest at heart level, I am thinking of your extraordinary healing so that you can detect and transcended a first-rate talent for the future generation... be well, to you and to you! speaking of the next generation, I had established a theory... more or less logical, the fact of seeing a creature ridden by the hunter and that this creature hovers for a short moment makes me think of the glider cape from World, and so, I say to myself... would we be entitled... to creatures specifically made to give us many effects of the capes we have known? I mean, the chameleon cape that we had first, will there be a creature made for that? or the fireproof cape to resist or be immune to the effect of fire. even the palico, I see it as a bad part of mh's story or unless he replaces it with something better, I didn't see it in the trailer but... we'll see. the idea of tents placed on the maps and placing them in a place that we would like to choose is an interesting idea. I would of course like to have new gameplay of the long sword and a new weapon to also experience aquatic combat (I did not experience the older generations of World). last opinion, I absolutely do not hope for a system like qurio, come back to the next mh because, in my opinion, it would be... annoying, be careful, I do not hate this system but I find it very diminished because it brings , certainly, multiple effects but in exchange for that, it brings harmful effects such as bringing a talent to suppress another or even several. I also don't hope that he brings a transcendence system like World...although I will happily laugh out loud if he grants this wish. ah! three more last details, the idea also of a more intelligent AI would be welcome and therefore more difficult, if I have to take an example from the rajang, it would be interesting to see it more intelligent, adaptable to any situation against one or more hunters , more instinctive and thoughtful. the hope of seeing a nergigante choux more venerated than ever would be enticing and a tracking system like the kulv or the Safi sera, with less stressful rules like the weather, interests me. There you go, once again everyone, take care of yourself! sorry for the writing, but I needed to write my opinion... flashy effects 😅!

    I don't agree with the quest system. Most hub quest are just the same village quests but repeated with more difficulty, i don't feel like it makes much sense and it would affect the solo experience, since endgame monsters will have bloated hp. The system world had was good, the only bad thing were the cutscenes and the fact that you had to watch the cutscene first before someone could join your quest. All they have to do is let us skip cutscenes and be able to join on the same story quest together, that way players can beat the story with friends. Also 16 player lobbies were a nice addition, not sure why they reversed that in rise. I get the nostalgia factor but honestly i think world's quest system is much better. Progressing through the main campaign with friends was a nice experience, they just have to fix the problems that i mentioned before.

    Man, we have such opposite likes with longsword. I want more counters, less spirit combo. My biggest hope is that they add counters with different use cases so knowing which counter to use when becomes a large part of being good with longsword. Some of the most fun moments were foresight canceling into ISS for instance on double narga tailslam. I want more things like that causing us to use and link different counters. Dual blades does what old LS did already, we don't need it back.
    I also hope we never get back any siege tier monster. Jhen may have been the best of em, but it still sucks. Lao never needs to come back. Yama could maybe come back if they completely change the fight and make it work like a normal monster instead of just floating in the center of the broken tower. Really though, I just hope all the new monsters are end game monsters and we don't have yet another endgame of teo and kushala with 75% of the new monsters being completely irrelevant to end game. Underwater should also stay gone. It's tough enough to judge distance in a video game on land with tons of reference points.

      I personally love when the weapon is focused on dealing damage through the spirit combo. It presents a far greater tradeoff to the weapon because you have to be able to get the whole thing off which is easily punished. Meanwhile the counter heavy variant feels way too safe because you can easily counter the predictable moves to farm spirit levels.

    • @AWanderingSwordsman
      @AWanderingSwordsman 4 місяці тому

      @@derwalter866but dual blades already does the same thing. Can't guard, decent walk speed when unsheathed, has non committal attacks with repositioning, has long move/combo that does good damage and charges gauge.
      It's not really safer to do the spirit combo version either. You just simply don't do the whole combo if you can't. Helm breaker replaced the need for spirit combo anyway. It serves the purpose of long commitment for big damage arguably better. If you only foresight and never ISS or helm breaker which would be "safe" (except all those attacks you can't safely counter), then you are doing very little damage.
      if you can "safely" ISS and helmbreaker the enemy, then you can beat them with any style.

    • @derwalter866

      @AWanderingSwordsman The point is that when i play 5th gen LS, it feels like the whole weapon revolves around performing counters, and while when I play old gen LS, I feel like the normal slashing and dodging gameplay takes a much greater focus. I also never felt like I did low damage simply off just countering predictable moves repeatedly.

      @PeppoLS  4 місяці тому +1

      I'm used to old-gen hub quest and for me it wouldn't be annoying at all. I can see that though especially with new players. However, they could always try to balance it in a way so that it doesn't result annoying. In the video I proposed the increased rewards option, but maybe Capcom can come up with something more interesting than that. If you 1want to play in solo nobody will stop you from doing that, I'm also a solo player, but I don't like that hub quests become too easy because the monster's HP scales down for solo play like for the village quests.

    • @EndUser_
      @EndUser_ 4 місяці тому

      @@PeppoLS While yes the monster's hp is being lowered, the effective damage each player has to do is not. If anything playing with more people makes a fight way easier. If you look at any of the monster's hp scaling you'll immediately be able to tell that with more people each person has to do less individually to kill the monster. Not only that but with more people comes more healing sources, split aggro, and the potential for someone to do your portion of the damage for you. Something being tanky does not in and of itself make a fight hard. As a solo player myself I want to prove to myself that in a multiplayer setting I would be doing my part damage wise and know the monster well enough to keep myself alive and solo play is the best practice for that. I'm relatively new to the series and have only played Iceborne so I just can't understand where some of the opinions of older players come from but from what some of my friends have told me this game brings a ton of QOL changes that they can't imagine playing without anymore and the scaling is one of those things. Great video though, keep up the good work!

Capcom should rebalance the counter system or simply just reverse it back to MH double cross idea, maybe counter system is still exist but with more restriction during fight like the Bar in XX. • @Purpletrident

    Removing health scaling is not a good idea at all. I primarily play solo, and I very much don't miss the days when it took 30 minutes to kill a monster just because it had MP scaled health. That's just not fun at all. If people wanna play solo let them, if you wanna play with 2-4 players, let them. There's no reason to punish people who don't play in 4 man groups.
    Likewise, I think people who complain about restocking items are extremely silly. This example of using just bombs to kill a monster is weird cause...who in the world did that? I've never even heard of anyone do that. 99% of people just wanna hunt normally, most likely with a long sword. And if you have an issue with restocking potions...just don't. It's an option. It's pretty hard to run out of potions to begin with when you can carry so many, this is another non-problem.
    This video just gives the vibes of an elitist who can only think about the "pure days when monster hunter was good." When everything was clunky and inconvenient.
