The Eren/Mikasa scene was honestly so beautiful and my favorite moment in s2 and the “i’ll wrap that scarf around you as many times as you want” part made me shed a few tears
Fun fact :The reason mikasa looked more beautiful than usual because we were seeing mikasa from eren point of view I think author said that which is so beautiful ❤
Fun Fact: the English VA for Eren actually bites his hand to get the right grunts while his struggling to transform. And not only did this man unhinge his jaw during this scene, but also bit his tongue really hard to the point that it bleed. So those little undertones of gurgling his hand blood is as authentic as were going to get.
First Carla, then Annie, Reiner and Bertholt, and now Hannes. Life really has a grudge against poor Eren. Watching him break down laughing was so painful.
Fun fact: Eren's sub VA actually put a lot of strain on his throat for the screams in this episode. To the point where he lost his voice for a bit, I believe. R.I.P. Hannes. You tried your best to avenge Carla and protect the children she cared about. Also, poor Ymir tried her hardest to live for herself and be selfish. But she's always helping out other people because it's just in her nature to do that. She regained her freedom while staring up at the stars on a beautiful night sky, and now she willingly gives away her freedom on a similar night. Truly a Goddess.
For real! Ymir turned out to be such an interesting character in Season 2. In Season 1, we all just thought she was some high school mean girl who might've also been a spoiled brat growing up or something. But Season 2, showed us a different side of her. A person who'd been through a lot in life and knows a lot more than we expected. She was mean to everyone because she was being real to everyone because of her traumatic past. She didn't want to tell anymore lies, neither to herself nor others. But in the end she still cared about her friends even if it meant not living the life she wanted. Truly a remarkable person. 🥲
Hannes' death is made even worse by the fact that had he just gone for the nape he likely would have succeeded and been okay, but he got so consumed with ripping the titan apart like it was a kind of revenge that he was careless and got grabbed.
Can i tell how I just Love and Hate how EVERYONE forgets about Ymir story and how it answer a lot like how people turn into titans, even the fact that there's people outside of the walls

That's not the people's fault. Hajime isayama purposefully wrote it like that. Its good if you picked up on it first before other people and can brag about being big brained, but if you didn't it's okay too because he explains everything next season and the following seasons. Its just a little nugget. The important part of the dynamics between historia and ymir. The themes of "if you love them let them go" and "nobody is perfect so stop trying to be".
Sad Fact: Historia on the Manga has a breakdown right there after Ymir leaves She stars cursing her and screaming to Eren to go into Titan Form and gets her back that "How could she chose Reiner and Berth over her?" and when Eren didnt do it she broke down into the ground and start crying her heart out
notice how ymir still calls him Commander Erwin even when she's cursing him out and saved him from another titan even when he ruined her plan. the power the man holds is fucking terrifying. if i were there seeing him scream advance from the titan's mouth i would effing piss myself and also i've got fking chills from the last part when ymir left

Something I didn't see explained yet by viewers to her question: The reason the hand biting didn't work when Eren needed to save Hannes is because a shifter can't transform while the body is still regenerating. His hands still didn't finish forming after having his arms chopped off. I didn't understand it first and was devastated the same but understood when it was explicitly said in the series later.

Pretty sure, it's Erwin's only fail as a tactician. If divine power wasn't awaken in that moment the main cast would be dead. And unlike his other gambles this one couldn't even be based on any info to be even considered a possibility. He is courages and is willing to share a burden of his gambles with the rest, which is admirable, because it's unusual. But there were always so much praise for his plans in the fandom. Personally, I never liked his plans, they seemed too often relay heavily on tremendous loss of lives. To be fair, his praised effectiveness that comes with a heavy price is pretty similar to real life treatment of commanders like him.
In this particular case, I personally never praised the plan, I just praised Erwin's conviction. All things considered, there wasn't really much of a plan to speak of. They had an unexpected debacle, a single goal, a time limit and terribly unpredictable circumstances. He acted with the cards he was dealt on instinct. One wonders if anyone could have come up with a successful plan to anticipate all that went wrong with this one. But that goes back to what Armin said to Jean in season 1.
@@vindifference I think nobody could, besides Eren and some miracle. It's more about not allowing retreat no matter what. "Either we get Eren or we all die here", I guess.
@@everhall306 I would say that without: Erwin, Armin, Mikasa and arguably Jean (at the very least those 3) humanity would have been screwed regardless of having Eren or not. As far as we know... Maybe it as simple as Isayama not wanting to waste panels on some retreat tactic or making the scene more dramatic. But with focus on Erwin's reaction to death around him, I bet there was some intent on showing Erwin's flaws here.
Yeah but imagine reading this chapter just to then have to go through a entire freaking story arc (whole half a season) before finding out more about the warrior story lines.
I love this series! I feel like it’s rare to get reaction videos to anime that actually take the time to really analyze the stories as they go. From what I’ve seen on UA-cam anime reactions are mostly just people freaking out about characters cool powers or how messed up a scene is but they always seem to miss those important underlying details that really make the impact of a show! I love watching you guys and I hope you do more anime in the future!
listen. i cannot stress enough how much you guys would like PSYCHO-PASS. the setting. the characters. the villain, omg the villain. its an incredibly psychological show with a fantastic English dub.
This episode, I remember feeling like everyone was going to die, you know like when you are reading and you are around past the half point, the third act hasn't even shown signs that is near and a solution hasn't been hinted beyond something/someone you heavily suspect is a red herring and were the third act to begging now, any actual solution that could appear would take way to much to develop seeing how many pages you have left and the stuff that still has to happen so you go "I can't see this ending well or even half well at all" that's the felling I had
Looking back on it, I think one of my favorite scenes in the whole show is Ymir, Reiner, and Bertholdt on the wall. Just heartbreaking when you have full context and what each of them has gone through
It’s the first time I’m watching AT with an English dub and so far it was Okay-ish with it’s strong and week moments but the part in this episode with Eren’s meltdown was sooooo good I’ve found myself crying just from hearing it
I think one of the most important recurring themes in Attack On Titan is Mikasa's outlook on life that it is both cruel and beautiful at the same time. Episodes like this that show horrible things happening surrounded by gorgeous scenery are one of the things that Wit Studio does the best in their adaptation of the Attack On Titan story.
I started watching this cause I recently finished the show and don’t wanna be done with it yet. I wasn’t sure about Kenny at first honestly but I can safely say I’m absolutely loving you both at this point and all the reactions/banter during the episodes. I’ve gotten a lot of laughs. Definitely well worth the sub, thank you both for the content.
Thats still something that has confused me to this very day. The jaw can talk like the cart, but we never see the jaw talk except for with Ymir as the wielder.
Eren was able to use that power because the Titan the killed erens mom was Dina fritz and she was a member of royal blood like zeke so eren was able to kinda use the founding titans powers
An anime I can recommend which is quite underrated by most, is Code Geass... One of a handful of anime where the dub is actually pretty good, attack on Titan and FMAB have pretty respectable dubs, too.
definitely recommend watching the scenes following Hannes’s death in the subbed version at least once. the Japanese VA’s knocked it out of the park as always
While the dub voice actors do put in a good effort here, erens breakdown and the scene between him and mikasa really show the subs superiority in quality. The voice acting and emotion, it’s simply unparalleled and the dub doesn’t even come close to really getting it across as well
Found another sub snob. 🙄 it’s funny how it’s always English speakers that hate on the dubs but when you actually talk to native Japanese ppl, the only thing they say is they prefer their version over the dub because their native language is Japanese and it’s easier for them to understand and enjoy. 😂😂😂 y’all don’t even speak, let alone understand Japanese to even give an accurate assessment of the voice acting. Yet you’ll defend it until the day you die and say it’s amazing because you “can feel the emotion in their voices”. 🙄 how about let everyone enjoy whatever they like without shitting on it regardless if it’s sub or dub.
Now that i think about it after finishing the show, i realize that Erwin's creepy smile was because he realized that if titans are really human, his childhood theory of humanity existing outside the walls is correct. Because before Ragako and the fall of Shiganshina, titans only existed outside of the wall.
Fun fact: this show made many people allergic to cliffhangers! :D Not really, but still. Anyway I hope at the end of the next season they remember to watch the ending credits, to see something interesting.
i cant w ppl misunderstanding jeans realistic big brain abt eren cause hes right, if they lost half of the scouts for him and hes useless then eren deserves it

Jean: *falls and almost dies*
Montana: NO! not the horse :(
Me: ...which one?
😂
historia and ymir's part got me goosebumps.
@@somestuff7876 I mean as far as they were aware, and it’s true in this case, without Eren they’re screwed
@@somestuff7876 oh I agree with you there 100%. Eren was just the most openly apparent asset in terms of what he made possible for the Survey Corps.
Gotta love it when Eren decides to just straight up clock a titan
Yeah but imagine reading this chapter just to then have to go through a entire freaking story arc (whole half a season) before finding out more about the warrior story lines.
CONGRATS ON A VIDEO WITH 100,000 VIEWS SO PROUD OF U
the setbacks of watching the dub- not hearing yuki kaji's amazing scream/laugh whehn he breaks down
Eren’s dub Titan scream is another setback
I personally loved the dub roars
@@Xgamerwoo yeah man that scream is very shitty… the sub is so much damn better
@@tusharsrivastava370 it sucks cause I actually love the dub voices but the scream just ruins everything
12:25 Eren says "HIGH FIVE"
I love this series! I feel like it’s rare to get reaction videos to anime that actually take the time to really analyze the stories as they go. From what I’ve seen on UA-cam anime reactions are mostly just people freaking out about characters cool powers or how messed up a scene is but they always seem to miss those important underlying details that really make the impact of a show! I love watching you guys and I hope you do more anime in the future!
Film buff is really good, 2 brothers also
as a manga reader, I find every moment of this show a lot crazier than it is
Can’t wait for just the first 2 episodes of season 3😭
the best character incoming... KENNY
@@Daesma999 exactly, him and Levi😭 KENNY!!!!!!
listen. i cannot stress enough how much you guys would like PSYCHO-PASS. the setting. the characters. the villain, omg the villain. its an incredibly psychological show with a fantastic English dub.
Eren just keeps moving forward... until all his enemys are destroyed
Just heartbreaking when you have full context and what each of them has gone through
Ymir's nightmare wasn't when She turned titan shifter but the 60 years wandering as a dumb titan.
SPOILER
Grisha's ex wife is kinda a girlboss for eating Her husband's new wife ngl
Lol that's fucked up
ikr?
Lol
I thought the guy on top of monke was erens dad at first cus of the beared LOL
i've been loving you guys watching this!! been here for the whole ride!
"she did it, again."
Easy now, you let some info there slip lol she's still got a lot of episodes till she finds out
I hope she thinks about how yimir said she was a titan for 60 years and that it was a nightmare and connect it to titans being human
She is an actual genius I couldn’t even crack the code at that time 😂
it's funny how the boy watches all the time to see how his girl reacts lol
It’s the first time I’m watching AT with an English dub and so far it was Okay-ish with it’s strong and week moments but the part in this episode with Eren’s meltdown was sooooo good I’ve found myself crying just from hearing it
**Jean falls down and gets injured**
Montana: No! Not the horse!
I think one of the most important recurring themes in Attack On Titan is Mikasa's outlook on life that it is both cruel and beautiful at the same time. Episodes like this that show horrible things happening surrounded by gorgeous scenery are one of the things that Wit Studio does the best in their adaptation of the Attack On Titan story.
there's only one baker with so many bread to bake. and the baker only have a pair of small hands and a bucket.
I'm so glad I found this golden channel can't wait until we react final season part 1 XD
Cant wait for yall to get to the middle of season 3
your editing makes these reactions better!!
8:05 horses are not having a good time in this situation.
*Shows Jean getting hurt.*
I'm still not over this episode
Eren was able to use that power because the Titan the killed erens mom was Dina fritz and she was a member of royal blood like zeke so eren was able to kinda use the founding titans powers
Connie: don’t know, don’t care,let’s get outta here😅
21:06 that was the point, there is pressure, that was why Jean said exactly that, not everyone can be like Mikasa and tell him what he wants to hear
The voice acting and emotion, it’s simply unparalleled and the dub doesn’t even come close to really getting it across as well
Yes we all know, there's at least one comment per episode saying the same exact thing.
@@J10969 noooo u see these sub weebs cant take it when they see other ppl watching dubbed anime they think they're superior cuz they watch sub only
That’s nice, don’t care go away
@AlbertanMotorcyclist Keep telling yourself that.
Now that i think about it after finishing the show, i realize that Erwin's creepy smile was because he realized that if titans are really human, his childhood theory of humanity existing outside the walls is correct. Because before Ragako and the fall of Shiganshina, titans only existed outside of the wall.
I like you guys' style. I even turn off my ad blocker for you, which i almost never do. Good content. Thank you.:)
Onto season 3 where we finally start getting answers and can properly piece the pieces of the puzzle together
Originally watching this episode in Sub, I thought it was the “Coordinate” power like the verb, because it let him coordinate the titans
God damnit me too until just now
Fun fact: this show made many people allergic to cliffhangers! :D Not really, but still.
Anyway I hope at the end of the next season they remember to watch the ending credits, to see something interesting.
"Why didnt the thumb bite worked?" It isnt a spoiler, you could have just told her that beacuse he wasnt healed all the way yet.
Who else is ready for the whole KENNYYYYY thing???
I wanna see Montana's shock that Levi yells her bfs name.
Spoiler from Patreon, she's not that shocked since Kenny says it himself 😅
@@MagicTater 😑 dammit we were waiting for that specific moment.
6:45 How did I not know about such an epic build-up and music drop until now.
What I get for being a Manga-only reader until now.
Montana is really a genius. Can't wait when you guys get to season 4 part 2
The writers were brilliant on this episode. When I first watched, I just knew Eren was going to transform and get his revenge on the Smiling Titan.
Montana looks ridiculously gorgeous in reaction and thumb nail. She absolutely have no reason to look this beautiful.
Waiting for KENNYYYYY next episode ....
i cant w ppl misunderstanding jeans realistic big brain abt eren cause hes right, if they lost half of the scouts for him and hes useless then eren deserves it
The thing is that Eren knows this already. He's been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders ever since he found out about his powers, and the pressure kept building up until his breakdown in season 3
