this trick is really helpful, now i can finally use my adidas samba and superstar without agony. theyve been sitting in the closet for 3 years lol. still brand new
Thanks for posting have changed my laces as I seemed to bruise my big toes all the time. Ran for the first time today with the new lace up style and toe did not hurt at all Yay! Cant thank you enough. When I was a child my dad used to lace my shoes up like your tutorial and I aways used to think it strange as no one else seemed to do this! He was a sportsman and perhaps he new what he was doing lol a bit of de ja Vous. I love you and miss you Dad and hope you are watching over me x
The First Technique Is Really Useful..! Totally Felt Like having New Running Show By Using Runners Loop Technique. Thank you This Was Very Helpful..!💥😇👍
I read a review where someone described “ runners loop” couldn’t picture it but thanks !! It was your first one !! I’ve ordered from you too !as a beginner and older I really appreciate all the help on your site
That variation of the lacing technique might work. You should also look for shoes with a wider or more rounded toebox, to give your pinky toe more room.
Glad to hear you found the video helpful. It depends why you are feeling numbness in your toes. If it's because your shoe is fitting too tight in he midfoot, the parallel lacing technique may provide you a bit more room while still holding you comfortably in the shoe. If your toes are too close to the toe box, that can also cause numbness. The bruised toe lacing technique addresses a sore or cramped big toe. It also may be that you need a bigger size shoe to give your toes more room.
Hi my left leg shoe is get slippery and hitting in front of my shoe and am getting pain pls give any idea or suggestions related to this and it is really helpful for me
My 2nd toe from the big toe on my left foot (which is the smaller foot) has a blacken toenail and I don't understand how to stop it from happening. My right foot doesn't have this issue. But it seems that because my left foot is smaller, perhaps it slides around more?! Im not quite sure, what would you suggest to prevent this? and yes I do always go a size up
Blackened toenails can definitely be caused by excess space in the toebox resulting in the foot sliding around. It's possible that your shoes are too large; we recommend choosing running shoes just half a size larger than your standard shoe size for the best fit.
May I know how to tie my shoes if the arc of my foot hurts when I run. It doesn't hurt if I loosely tie my laces but my foot would keep sliding out the shoe
Great video! Thank you. Just a suggestion if you ever reshoot this, you may want to film from top-down perspective so we're seeing it like we would while we do it ourselves, rather than opposite (mirrored) view. Anyway, thanks :)
Hi, I run with the On Running's Cloud Shoe. These shoes are great but they use elastic laces, I do have the option to change them to a standard pair of laces however, I want to see if the elastic laces are more beneficial for me and my running. Any tips to lace up these to avoid pain on the top part of the tongue of the the shoe?
On your first lacing type, is there any difference when lace from bottom to the next top eyelid vs from bottom to bottom eyelid? is it tighter or more grip?
my shoes (nike free rn) have a tongue lace thing to keep the tongue centered. how do i do the straight bar lace my shoes? is it okay not to include it?
old video so i know i probably wont get a reply but after i lace up my shoes and put them on i dont have enough lace left to do this i barely have enough to tie my shoes regularly i have nike pegusus 38s
Some shoes do tend to offer shorter laces that make certain techniques challenging. If you would like to try some different lacing methods, we'd highly recommend swapping laces with a pair that provide a little more length. -Connor
Last year I had a stress fracture in my foot. I noticed that the top of my foot feels like it has some pressure/tightness. I am only feeling it in the foot with the injury. Do you think the parallel lacing or hot spot lacing would help?
Both the parallel lacing and hot spot lacing technique can help relieve pressure on the top of the foot. We'd recommend trying both out and seeing if it alleviates your specific foot pain. -Connor
If it's the new models then put the laces through the flywire cables (the things that the laces go through already) and do the same as the runners loop
Hello. This video has changed my life. For the first time ever I have not had feet pain and numbing. Thank you !
The problem was not on lace but on ypur shoes
@JOBS 360 ASSAM I just changed the lacing and used the runner's loop and it felt FAR more comfortable on long runs.
this trick is really helpful, now i can finally use my adidas samba and superstar without agony. theyve been sitting in the closet for 3 years lol. still brand new

My foot is a bit wider than regular. Toenails(small nails) sit tightly inside the shoe. What pattern can I use to make it feel better?

I do. It works great!

Thanks for the reply. I'll try both and see which works better. Might be weird to have one tied this technique and the other the regular way. LOL

how would you tie a normal running shoes lace like the nike free so you can play soccer in them better
If it's the new models then put the laces through the flywire cables (the things that the laces go through already) and do the same as the runners loop
The laces on my flyknit racers are EXTREMELY long. I tie them normally. What do you think I can do to fix this. They are flat laces.
