I always said: "I will now go over to my other piano" (Winnie's famous catch phrase) nobody would know what I was talking about. It was hard to explain that she was a megastar million seller long before rock and roll came along.
I am 70 years old now and still want to play like winnifred. I am oké with 50 % , even 30% is enough, but reality learned me that I never,never,never can play like this. CRYING!!!!
She was going to be on Ed Sullivan but the networks didn't think the south could handle a black woman with a British accent so her appearance was never recorded. Disgusting
I'm a little surprised no mention is made of the use of her recording of Black and White Rag (which this ends with) for Pot Black, the BBC snooker programme. (I miss the sneck sneck at the very end!)

.I was born in 1940 and growing up with with her on the radio kept me and my parents sane.
I used to listen to her a lot while playing chess growing up, the sound of this piano while she plays such pieces is very nostalgic
I found an old EP of let’s have another party, amazing energy on the piano now she is a weekly part of my life.
As a teenager I wanted to play like Winifred,
but I didn't make it!

Agreed and she had actually made 2 recordings of it and oddly enough both were used for the Pot Black series Intro and end credits over the years.
